sandtrooper
I'm needing to add the six rivets to the left side of the ab and kidney plate. Which of these do I need? http://trooperbay.com/2-inch-fasteners-and-washers/ http://trooperbay.com/accurate-nickle-split-rivets-and-washers/ I guess I don't get what the difference is between them. I also need to glue rubber hand plates to gloves. Is E6000 best for this or something else? I also need the snap to the top right hand side of the ab plate and the additional snaps to the crotch. My armor came assembled, so am nervous about screwing the modifications up. Thanks.
iconoclasta_88
The second ones. The Nickel split rivets. About the handplates, if they are rubber, use e6000. If they are latex or latex derived, use silicon caulk. Hope it helps. Saludos.
sandtrooper
I got the split rivets from trooperbay a few days ago. How do I go about installing them? Do I need to drill pilot holes for them first? What kind of tool do I need? Sorry for the dumb questions. My armour was put together when I got it, so I have no experience with this. DarthAloha
Try a short philips screwdriver and a hammer on a flat hard surface to bend the tines down. Place the point of the screw driver between the tines and lightly hammer down. Pliers also work to finish up the job. Don't worry too much about marring the face of the split rivet since it gets painted anyways. I'm sure an armorer from the UKG has a better solution but the philips method has been known to work. -Eric
longboard8
Those split rivets have been rather difficult to find. I think I'm high on ABS glue, you hosers.

I don't get it how split rivets are hard to find. Just have a look at ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/100-BRASS-PLATED-6mm-SPLIT-RIVETS-/130498261658?pt=UK_Crafts_Leathercraft_LE&hash=item1e624d729a These are the ones you want.Screen accurate, cheap and in a bag of 100 pieces. It's the 16th result down from a simple search on ebay for "brass split rivets".
longboard8
Internet is one thing, but I no longer have time to order stuff. Halloween is tomorrow and I'm building my sons armor. Its cool. We just aren't one hundred percent screen accurate yet.
