xapologiesx
Hello everyone. So I am a complete beginner here and just started some of the first steps towards cutting and trimming my helmet. I'm woking on the eyes and could really use some feedback. I feel like the upper part of the eye needs to come in more and am I close enough in the small corner or does that need to come in more? I wanted to get some feedback before I cut too much. Also, what are people using to trim the small corner of the eye? Its such a small area and I'm scared of messing it up. thanks in advance for your help.
DarthAloha
Hey Anthony, Here are a couple links that might help.... The Stunt Eye reference gallery: http://www.whitearmor.net/fisd/Tikipedia:ANH-Stunt:Eyes:ReferenceGallery Pandatrooper's ATA helmet build: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=14806 Some folks use a dremel with a sanding wheel. I prefer curved lexan scissors because one false move with a dremel and you're screwed. I've also used a fresh exacto knife to shave abs. Good luck bro! T-BONE
Yeah lately I have been doing most of my cuts on abs with scissors then evening it all perfect with box cutters, then sanding. Sounds like it would turn out bad but it's the best method I've used so far.
Sandman Tigui
Eric has it covered Anthony, my best bet to you would use as said before: the X-acto knife. Curve scissors also work well. You won't go wrong with it
ground pounder
I used a small circular shaped file for the inner part of the eye. Cut it rough first and then slowly filed away the plastic and got a perfect corner of the eye.
xapologiesx
Thanks guys, I appreciate the help! I think I'm making some good progress. At first I thought the dremel was perfect, but I'm loving how precise the exacto can be!
Sandman Tigui
Great news bro! You control more the pressure and movement with the Xacto Blade. We are here to help. Keep it up
