  1. well said Brak... I for one think if you're offended by a hot chick in TK armor, then you're playing for the wrong team. I was at Shoreleave 27 this past weekend and was standing in the hallway by myself in TD gear and I hear the trademark ABS 'clik-clak' coming down the hall. I turn around to see two Stormtroopers and a Biker Scout, I proceed to say, "Good evening, gentlemen." All three remove their helmets to reveal themselves as woman! A good laugh we all had... then we proceeded to the bar where we all four shared some nice beverages.
  2. Good screen capture... I didn't catch that. Also, don't forget white gaffers tape.
  3. I thought the Indy location was prime. All the hotels were centrally located so that most could use sky walks. In Vegas, you're looking an numerous Cab use and shuttle buses to get around. I also don't think Vegas has a convention center as big as the RCA dome, but they're supposedly building one as we speak, according to my shuttle bus driver in Vegas last week.
  4. Thanks for the update, waiting with baited breath. I've been lusting after a pack like this for a long time.
  5. AWESOME! Please keep me posted, I am seriously interested in this project. One question though, I saw the pictures from last year when this project was first started and there were pictures of the assembled pack on a trooper. It looked good but it was at least 1/3 too big. Have these parts, namely the 'pans' been reduced in size to be proportional like the Marmit pack?
  6. Very cool. Looks like it's done using php? I need to learn more about it. I struggled to get php gallery setup on my site, and I have some error message that I have no idea how to resolve.
  7. On my next TD, I'm going to get busy with Fullers Earth.
  8. No joy here either. I actually wanted the orange shoulder one with the lewis gun.
  9. I saw those, too. While the design is nice, the originals were never canvas.
  10. Thanks! And thank for the tips on the helmet speaker mod. Can't wait to get busy on that.
  11. Hello bro, your website is just awesome! It is REALLY a prayer answered. I was minutes away from posting a "help" message for some assistance in assembling a set of armor. When I first opened up your site the first observation that came to me was the armor! TE IS the equintessential armor for those who stride towards movie authenticity bar done! I spent the rest of last night carefully scanning your site. Can I PM you with a couple of questions about your armor? Thanks. Take care & aloha. Guns Sure, feel free to PM, email me. Glad to help anyway possible. - Mike
  12. Just a little shameless self promotion... http://www.tk1536.com Mainly useful for general construction tips, etc. However, if you're looking mainly for Sandtrooper tips, head over to Brak's Davin Felth web site. He's got the skinny on that.
  13. I like the painting on the wall... grim!!! Cool that you also removed your drop-boxes, Took me a while to realize that. Knee plate looks good. But yes - after a few wearings, you'll discover all kinds of adjustments that need to be made and/or trimmed. You may want to also weather your pauldron to look a little more used.
  14. just a little over $200, but he's no longer making them. I think he stopped last October... something about recasting.
  15. The FX helmet should be abolished. FX Helmet = poop. I retired mine for a RT Helmet, and recently acquired a TE that's dead-on to ANH... but I'm keeping it clean.
  16. Looks good so far... needs more dirt! I think I've retooled the dirt/sand on my armor three times now.
  17. Here's my solution. Works perfect. One elastic strap around the arm, the other around my neck.
  18. While I have yet to see a ref pic with the supposed 'Thermal Detonator' on Sandtroopers, the top part, or cap, should at least be removed to be used on the back-pack tube.
  19. Very nice!! Great use of materials. I may have to look in to doing something similar.
  20. Very nice, one of the best I've seen thus far. I have a Studio Creations style back pack (the one made up of battery boxes), and I'm definitly going to make a second, more accurate one soon.
  21. I finally took mine off. Pesky little things, too.
  22. Nothing you tell her will make a difference. She will never equate your happiness to a dollar value. In her mind, money is just better spent on something else... most likely something more practical. In short, it sounds as if your marriage choice left you with fewer choices in 'your' life. That's why I'm not married nor wish to be... call me selfish, but I'm taken by me.
  23. I remember running around trying to find all my back-pack parts... good times. The best part was finding the Battery boxes! I think I had more fun putting my backback together than I did with my armor. I spent probably three weeks going to every Wal-Mart, Lowes, Home Depot and othe craft store in a 20 mile radius.
