  1. For the helmet movement I use the supplied chin strap that came with my RS helmet. It's elasticated so if it slips when removing or putting on the bucket it stings a little - added bonus is the subsequent eye watering stops my eyes drying out from the fans
  2. Will reserve judgement until their "new pricing plan" is rolled out. They will have already lost lots of customers already who won't want to go back (me included). Too much effort to move everything again!
  3. I'm enjoying following this Brad, keep up the good work. You're making great progress.
  4. This is looking great Jason. I know you wanted to go dusty for your pouches and pauldron, but I wonder if you need to go a little heavier? (it could just be my crappy ipad)
  5. You were so close to greatness Either way, nice touch!
  6. In some of those pics it looks like FO undersuits maybe too! an odd combination if thats the case (although it could just be that's because it's an action figure)
  7. What about a bandana instead of a cap? I'm sure they make them pre-formed so you don't have to try and tie it every time - maybe elasticated, but then it might look more like a shower cap which is not a good look! It could still have patches attached, but can also be worn under the bucket (as some troopers do already). That way it's already in place when you take your bucket off, without worrying about keeping it on you as a separate piece of uniform.
  8. Welcome to the forum Brett. Whereabouts in Aus are you? I'll let others chip in with their pointers on boots and pouches as my kit came as one and there are several options for both. I know Blaster 8266 makes some pouches (try this thread here )
  9. It looks like you've sandied the lenses too? It looks nice and Sandy, but with already limited visibility, you may want to keep them clean, just so you can see...
  10. This should get you there if you haven't found it already
  11. 1. For the helmet stability I assume you're using the chin strap that's attached? I find that helps mine. I use their supplied foam star, but did set it to the most useful position inside the helmet with velcro - trial and error. You get used to the level of visibility. There's a certain level you can get to, but after that, you're blind . Alternative padding may help you. it's worth a try. 2. I wouldn't recommend wrestling in the kit or playing NFL. But it's durable enough for walking around and bumping into things lightly (by accident). You'll get used to it and build up your confidence with what you can do with it. It's not bullet proof, so take care of it. And you get used to walking like you just got out the pool 3. yup 4. carefully. depends on your fans, mic and wiring set up tbh. For mine (which is wireless), I put my head in sideways and then twist around to the front. Depends on your climate, but I don't use both fans at the same time. Again, mostly trial and error.
  12. Arrest #0022 (of 24) , Monash Childrens Hospital charity walk and fun day - March 4th 2018
  13. Very true. But very difficult to not smile when there's so much smiles from the public...!
  14. Nice work Johan. congratulations
  15. Knightfall Garrison - TD 18969 (i.e. me) Keeping a watchful eye at our Monash Childrens Hospital charity walk.
  16. Depending how often you plan to troop in your TD you may find the mannequin isn't really practical - having to pack it up and unpack it again to display could become quite a pain. I was fortunate enough to get a mannequin that was being thrown out at work - but I only use it for my Predator costume that only get's worn about twice a year! My TD stays in his box unless I'm trooping or repairing
  17. Sorry mate I don't remember. Everything that comes to my office is signed for by our mail room on my behalf
  18. I ended up not getting any progress pics with mine, so heaven only know WHEN it started being built. that said, the six to eight wks was accurate and once they notified me it was on its way it arrived (in Australia) within 48 hours. my understanding is they will cycle through each of their builds. So a batch of Sandies, a batch of pilots, a batch of tree huggers etc. depending on where they are in that cycle when your order gets confirmed will determine when they start building it. they're a good company so I'm confident your patience will be rewarded tip: keep an eye on their facebook page. That gives you an idea of what costume they're working on.
