  1. One thing I see that needs corrected on the CRL. The bandolier should be optional, since most Mimban troopers did not have one...especially the two with the most screen time that were guarding Chewie’s cage. EDIT: I see I was not the first to comment about this. I also second the observation about the shoulder straps. So far, if those are the only two noticeable issues, I’d say great job to those who worked to develop this CRL. Thanks for all of the hard work and research! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. After watching solo again and again the other day, I’ve noticed that it seems like most of the Mimban troopers that actually have lines or spend significant time on screen are without the backpacks, AND without the bandoliers across the test. The two most representative of all the Mimban storm troopers being the two on top of chewy’s cage. They just had the plash, and weapons. Heck, you couldn’t even tell if they had the ribbed undershirt. Hopefully they will all be optional accessories (ribbed shirt is option level one for Jedha Trooper, and R1 TK). Also, I really hope the CRL is going to indicate the plash palatka is heavily distressed, and weathered black. I just couldn’t see any green in them, as hard as I looked (and for selfish reasons, I’m just eager to dye mine. I’ve had the dye pods on standby since before August). 3. That depends on how strict you want to be regarding the visual guide. If they just make up random silly names, such as “most chemical glow stick”, or whatever, for flashlight, then it may be hard to determine if “processing dome” is an official name for the piece, or just something silly that was added for the sake of adding something. I, personally, think blast shield is an incorrect term used for every one of the costumes it’s used on. But we are only discussing the Mimban here. In this case, based on the description, and the fact they are in a very muddy, swampy, nasty, environment, processing dome seems to be more accurate for this specific costume. It may not be very consistent to pick and choose which terms from the visual guides we would use and which we would ignore, so it is a tough call. Though, it is fun to be different, and calling It something different than other costumes with similar pieces would help set it apart. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Found it, and I was incorrect. It’s called a processing dome. While it may be referred to as a blast shield on other costumes, it actually has an official name in the visual dictionary for this costume. It would be more accurate to refer to it by the appropriate name when that info is available. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I’ll have the mains it again, but I’ve seen something that was similar to a visual dictionary that referred to the blast shield as a “sensor dome”. I also agree, with a lack of any official terminology for the “bolts”, then something along the line of mounting bolts, or mounting hardware would seem like an appropriate name for those greeblies. 6. Is the undersuit going to be ribbed? Or will that be a level 2 and 3 option just like the rogue 1 Troopers? Is the pack going to be required? I think I have seen just as many, if not more, of these guys in the movie without packs vs with packs. Has a decision been made as to whether the palatka is actually black, or is it green with super heavy weathering (I’m assuming it’s black, but need to know before dying my palatka). Also, can we get a posting of what is the most recent proposal for the CRL? I am ready to start producing armor, and making my own costume, but am at a stand still until I have more solid information regarding the CRL. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I posted the wrong link for the poncho. I emailed the seller and asked about the grommets. They sent me a link, claiming to be the proper link to get the one with leather grommets. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B012TBCMBM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fTpvBbT6QSKSQ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Hi everyone. I’m John, and I’m a costumaholic. I’m here to learn and help with the R&D for the Mimban trooper. I currently have an approved kylo, first order flametrooper, and am working on an ANH Vader. I built my flametrooper pack from scratch, and am now looking for the next challenge—actually being involved and helping with crl development, and of course, building one of these new dirty dirty guys to add to my roster. After reading through this thread, it seems to be a common consensus that the “cape” is the soviet-style plash palatka. I just ordered one from amazon. Figured it would be a good idea to get one now, before they become hard to get, or prices jump up. I can worry about dying it and modifying it later, once a final color is decided on. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00RRXI2Q2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_QDovBbDW6E2RH Also, based on the rest of the discussion, I assume, at this point, it’s still agreed that the armor is the same as the R1 jedha trooper, with the exception of the helmet, extremely added weathering, and a pack? I have only seen Solo twice, but if I recall, not all of the troopers carried a pack, so is it being considered as an optional accessory? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
