  1. Doubledx is right, Pack#2 has a completely different radio which truly looks like something put together quickly by the props department to look similar to the Sonix radios. You are right about those pics needing to be updated, that being said, one always has to look at screen caps and emulate what is seen there, especially with SWAT, you want complete screen accuracy. The outdated pictures should be rather considered to be a guideline to get an idea of the different layouts.
  2. Hey mate, I can't tell anything about the woodman trays but I have RWA seedtrays and I am very happy, sturdy/solid as well. And customer service is the best out there.
  3. Just look at screencaps https://starwarsscreencaps.com/star-wars-episode-iv-a-new-hope-1977/34/#foobox-1/43/star-wars4-movie-screencaps.com-5984.jpg?strip=all or take photos from the bluray, at least, that's the way I did it.
  4. Amazing work Björn and a gorgeous pack Björn, very well done!
  5. Okay, you want to build a new SWAT helmet emulating the Cantina Sergeant, didn´t get that before. In that case you will have to get rid of the grey and black enamel paint on those ears. A friend of mine hast tried this product for that purpose: It´s a hand disinfectant and he said that he took a papertowel drenched in the disinfectant and just laid it on the ear for some time, afterwards he was able to rub off the enamel paint. He also said that it will not damage the ABS.
  6. May I ask why you want to remove them? They look perfectly alright.
  7. Looks nice Rob, is it an RS lid (because of the dent on the left part of the chin area) ? Still so shiny
  8. Okay, I understand, then you will have to lower the thighs slightly. I even had to trim mine further at the top as I am only 1,78m of height. Had to create a new returnedge using a special iron used for model planes. The placement of the kidney and butt is okay, they are supposed to be quite close to each other.
  9. Hey Daniel, I think you've done a great job already trimming those parts, it seems to be a good fit and suits you well. The shoulder bells look a little large, especially your right one but maybe that's just because the strapping is still missing, so I wouldn't trim any further right now, just leave it as it is and as soon as you have put the arms together and connected them to the bells, have a look at it again. Maybe you could push your thighs down a little... or pull up the whole chest and abdomen a little higher to achieve a little more space in between the abdomen/butt and the thighs, you will need it to be able to walk comfortably.
  10. It looks okay at first sight but I'm not really sure as the pics are quite low resolution, also possible that it's a wee bit flimsy. Maybe ask the seller for some quality, high resolution pics?
  11. Hi mate and welcome to the MEPD, great to hear that you are planning on becoming one of the dirty and deployed troopers. The gap on the knee on your left thigh actually isn´t such a problem as gaps are actually quite sreen-accurate, maybe not as big as the one you´ve got but you could make it less noticeable by gluing a strip of white ABS behind. If it´s glued with E6000 you could easily take it apart again, just so gently and carefully warm it up and then use an exacto blade to get the coverstrip of the thigh but keep in mind that the coverstrip can´t be used any longer. I would suggest you just glue a piece of ABS to the back to make it less noticeable. Now to your second question: you shouldn´t paint over the decals. If you are aiming for level 2 /PO, all details have to be handpainted (the tube stripes as well) so take these details off and paint them by hand. Humbrol # 5 is the correct grey but you will also have to paint over the teeth again as Anovos obviously has gone for a lighter shade of grey and it doesn´t match. I hope I could be of some help, keep those questions coming. Cheers mate
  12. Great work Björn. This is going to be good.
  13. Hi Rodrigo, all pics are there again. Seems to me that my hosting website as well as the MEPD site itself are both struggling from increased online traffic because of more people working home office. So if they aren't visible, just try again a little later.
  14. Well, normally it's a good idea to choose the trooper you want to emulate before starting your build. Of course you can choose one of the troopers in the background where there isn't as much reference material but now in times of ultra 4K whatever, I think that more and more details will become unveiled.
  15. Hi Wayne, swift work mate but I wouldn´t have expected anything else, well done. That´s quite a story about your little adventure getting stuck in that lift. Glad you came out of it in one piece and just that minor damage to the pouch which actually fits the costume very well. Would have been a pity to lose that little reminder. Let´s get the second round of your review going. Application Review: Part 2 Name: Wayne Winfield Legion ID: TD-32945 Forum Name: Waynocerous Garrison: UK Garrison Helmet a. Green lenses: check b. RESULT ON WEAPON Checked & Cleared Wayne, this was your second and final review! Your gear looks great and you are a worthy addition to the ranks of the MEPD´s finest. Be proud of yourself! You have successfully followed the guidelines in regards to the MEPD CRL and have met all requirements. Please send the pic you want to use to Luis (Sandman Tigui) and we'll get you squared away. I will have your updated information uploaded into the MEPD system asap. Congratulations on becoming a Deployed Officer of the MEPD! Now get out there, help clean the streets and alleyways of all that scum and villainy... ...and show those shinies what the big boys look like. Cheers mate! Hausi - MEPD Deployment Officer
  16. Yeah, first cut's the most difficult. But hey, you and Paul have done a great job saving it, looks great!
  17. Oh don't worry, starting with the helmet is actually a good idea, I always did it that way. Looking forward to seeing your progress.
  18. Hi Wayne, welcome again and thanks for your interest in becoming a deployed Police Officer of the MEPD. I think you´ve done a great job in converting your TK to TD… much cooler now. Great to hear that you are able to do a troop once every weekend when times are normal, you´re probably missing it right now… as we all are. Also cool to see that you are obviously taking good care of your gear as it has survived so many trooping events already. At a first glance everything looks good and your gear suits you well, so let´s get into those details with the review. Application Review: Part 1 Name: Wayne Winfield Legion ID: TD-32945 Forum Name: Waynocerous Garrison: UK Garrison Helmet a. Green lenses: check b. Paint color of traps / tears: check c. Weathering: check k. no mesh behind teeth: check *additional comments* Nice helmet, I like the subtle weathering. Brow´s a little low for my liking but that of course is personal preference. Am I right to assume that it´s an RWA kit? RESULT ON HELMET Checked & Cleared Armor details a. elastic straps shoulders: check b. neck seal: check c. black undersuit: check d. shoulder bells: check e. biceps: check f. forearms: check g. pauldron: check h. chest / back plate: check i. kidney / butt plate: check j. ab plate / side rivets / cod: check k. strapping system: check l. thighs: check m. shins / calves: check n. sniper plate: check o. boots: check p. gloves: check q. hand plates / guards: check r. ammo belt (waist): check s. ammo belt (right knee): check t. canvas belt: check u. pouches: check v. weathering: check *additional comments* Nice armor, worthy of being converted to TD. Just one question out of interest: why have you added duct tape to the small Spanish pouch? I mean it fits in well with the overall look and the excessive use of it on the original suits but why did you use it here? RESULT ON ARMOR Checked & Cleared Backpack a. details: see comments b. weathering: check *additional comments* Your pack looks great with all those original parts. I really dig it that you even took the time and made the effort of adding the red support straps, good eye for the details. The only thing that I will have to point out is the mortar tube. It is much too shiny and does not really fit in with the rest of the parts. Also have a look at these reference pics from the movie or behind the scenes: So there are different possibilities now, either you paint it with some satin black paint which would be my first choice or you just sand it down using some fine grit sandpaper or you weather it… that´s up to you as long as it doesn´t look as shiny anymore at the end. RESULT ON BACKPACK pending Weapon a. details: check b. weathering: check *additional comments* Nice E-11, great details, even a metal triggerguard, cool. But I always encourage people to go “full Bapty”… would also be much more in line with those red back support straps. RESULT ON WEAPON Checked & Cleared Wayne, this was your first review! There´s not much to do, that one small change is a walk in the park and I expect to hear from you soon again, keep up the great work. Cheers mate Hausi - MEPD Deployment Officer
  19. Cool, have fun building! @troopermaster, since when have you added those ridges to the ears, Paul? That's new.
  20. Hey Wayne, swift work on adding the required information and pics, thank you. Man your armor has already seen some tough times obviously. I'll be writing your review tomorrow, cheers mate.
  21. Hi Wayne, welcome to the sandpit and thank you for your interest in joining our deployed troops on Tatooine. I will be taking care of your review. I can already say that your gear looks good and suits you well. Nice job on that TK to TD conversion. Your application is tidy but I still have to ask for some additional imformation and pictures. Please edit your first post and add a link to your 501st profile. I will have to see some detail pics of the following things: -a pic in which you squeeze your handguards showing that they are flexible, either made of rubber or silicone. -a more detailed pic showing the six rivet connecting the ab and kidney. - a close-up of the chest bottom returnedge showing the six screws emulating the original bracket strapping. - a picture showing the strapping on the inside of your armor (don't worry, you do not need to have the screen-used bracket strapping). - a picture of the backside of the male snap on the abdomen on the right. - a picture of the rivets on your knee ammobelt. As soon as I have those, I can start the review, so way to go.
  22. Hey my dirty brothers and sisters, there´s not a lot going on here at the MEPD right now ...seems to be in lockdown mode as well. However, to keep myself and maybe some of you entertained, I revisited an old idea of mine: I have built a Sandtrooper dashboard hula doll about two years ago, I had ordered on of these cute hula dolls on amazon and wanted to modify it, so I also ordered one of these Lego Stormtrooper Commander figures. Sizewise this helmet matches the figure and it´s one of the best-looking miniature helmets out there in my opinion. I had to use my dremel to hollow out the helmet so it would fit on the hula doll´s head. I then just added some weathering to the helmet and glued it on the doll´s head using E6000 and this is what it looks like: Already from the beginning of this project, I noticed that the position of the arms as they are holding the guitar would probably be good to hold something different... so I got myself another figure, took my trusted dremel and got rid of the guitar...which wasn´t as easy as expected because it was reinforced with a little steel rod. I tried to remodel the parts that I had dremeled down and painted them: It was clear that I was going to glue a Black Series T-21 blaster to her hand. I have also put a little more effort into modifying the helmet this time by painting over the black stripes in the traps and tears with some humbrol grey and I then gave it the characteristic "flame" of the Davin Felth helmet, just because I had been building so many of these helmets at the time. The most difficult decision however was whether I should put the helmet on the doll´s head as I had previously done with the first doll... or just glue it down next to her feet? I decided to go for the second option and here´s the finished hula doll: It was a fun little project. Everybody stay safe and healthy, aloha my friends
  23. You are making good progress my friend... Great slippers too!
  24. Love the chipped paint and rusty look, amazing work Björn!
