  1. One of my exes works as a modelmaker at Ideal Standard, I texted him about old loo bits in his stores but no reply yet Leigh what shop did you get your loo-piece from?
  2. Excuse the double entendre but WOW that's quite big for your helmet Do you have them over the frown or elsewhere? What battery do you run them off, can you post helmet pics?
  3. Which ones do you use and what is their output, are they any good? Noisy etc?
  4. Hi all Can you all PM me and recommend where I can get my helmet fans from and also which ones produce a decent draught without creating too much noise that will interefe with my ROMFX? Been learning about fans from my ComputerGeek buddy and he says that a fan with a high CFM, low dB and low RPM will do the trick - but all the 40mm fans seem to be as much as a sparrow's fart..... What does everyone else use? And where can I get them, do they work or do you still sweat and steam up? Are strategically placed helmet vents or an ice-pack on my head the only way to stay coool? Thanks
  5. Oh no, I'm 5'8" but my AP is still being cut out so not had any fittings yet. Argh will I have the sane prob??!!
  6. I've contacted gotarmor about these lenses and as yet no reply. Another TK on MySpace said his friend ordered a set a month ago and they had the same crease in them. Not good Hope I can get a refund.
  7. These aren't bubble ones they are just curved to fit the helmet? I'd not even go there with the bubble ones I'd be crosseyed
  8. Got my green lenses thru today but one of them has a massive crease in it so will have to go back I also didn't realise how thick they were - I have astigmatism in my left eye and if the plastic is even remotely warped will it aggravate it and give me loads of headaches? What is best for vision - the hard plazzy lenses or acetate?
  9. Yeah I didn't want the brow to be too low, wanted a bit of white inbetween
  10. More pics Now the details are painted on it doesn't look as blue-white
  11. Here are the latest helmet build pics from Bob - I'm getting excited now :D:D We've got the OK for UKG clearance with the armour the colour it is so probs not spraying. Just lots of polish to get it glossed up a bit.
  12. Another question - have been advised not to spray armour for fear of the paint chipping or cracking. But if I stick out a mile next to the other creamy white TKs then I won't have a choice. Any other TKs out there sprayed their armour, if so was it OK or are you having nightmares with the finish and chipping?
  13. I was told there wasn't enough interest so he wasn't producing them....
  14. mmmmmmmmm.....it will be mine......oh yes, it will be mine....one day
  15. Me again Am currently studying options for laying out a ROMFX in my helmet - I quite fancy the sort of mic like what's on these headsets http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?Module...adset&doy=13m11 - remove the mike from the earpiece and have it velcroed to the side of the helmet so I can bend the mic round to be as near or as far from my mouth as I want.....has anyone done this, is it a good idea? If the ROMFX mic that comes with the pack has to be mounted on the front of your helmet in a fixed position then it can't be altered to be nearer my mouth...even though the website says "The supplied microphone is covered in heat shrink. It has a stiff, bendable wire inside the heat shrink so when you mount it you can bend the microphone into the perfect position in front of your mouth." When I look at the pics I don't see where this bendable wire is...if anyone has any useful inner helmet pics of their mic setups please post them! Thanks Rache
  16. What about these guys: http://www.extremeracing.co.uk/ seems good, copes with both extremes of weather......
  17. Not sure if you can discuss suppliers out in the open here but if not please PM me your recommendations for undersuits - here in the UK it's a bit nippy a lot of the time and I feel the cold v.badly so I'd need something quite warm. Do you guys have a "summer" suit and a "winter" suit? Or do you just have the one suit and you put a tshirt etc on underneath if it's nippy? Is there anything out there that is warm in winter but breathable and non-sweaty in summer? What's best - one or two piece? If two piece does the upper half ride up and get uncomfy? Whitearmour.net has a guy doing one-piece undersuits with built in neck seal that look quite good, but until I decide what strapping I'm using for my armour I may need a separate neck seal to hide straps. Any any ladies out there - what do you recommend for a good fit? And finally - TK blasters - I'm confused as to what's the best replica to buy. I can't really get hold of anything decommissioned to do up, so what's the best plastic blaster to get/blaster and add-on kit, and what do you do to mod it (if anything) to get the authenticity? And to stop getting black marks on your armour do you laquer it or spray it with anything? And what about the cool red sighting light too? Sorry for all the numptie questions but you gotta start somewhere
  18. It says cowhide lining but "White patent vinyl vamps" - does this mean it's a plastic upper? So your feet sweat like **** then? May have to go for dyed jodhpur boots after all then..........
  19. Ahhhh so I can just try yours on for size then (providing they're not too niffy )
  20. I am a UK size 7 and Caboots only go to a US size 8 which I think is a bit big for me, if there are no smaller sizes available then it's Jodhpur boots for me but I didn't really want to have to dye a pair.... If anyone has the Caboots size 8 can you send me the measurements from toe to heel so I can see if they WILL be too big? Ta!
  21. Hi all, I joined the UKG forums at the end of October and am awaiting the arrival of my Stormtrooper armour from the States - due within a week! I've had a 20+ year obsession with Stormies and I finally realised what's the point of having savings if you're never going to use them - Been browsing this forum and there are some great tips and hints for armour building so here I am. Expect many questions from me, specially about helmet inners and strappings (already read the long strapping thread - v handy!) Anyways I'm a 34 year old ginger bird who keeps rats, fences (not the garden variety), obsesses about WW2 aviation, loves to drive fast cars, and makes cozy beddings for rats and ferrets. Can't wait till my first troop but I haven't the heart to dirty up my new armour straight away so I won't be "going Sandy" until it's been beaten about a bit! Check out my site on www.myspace.com/girl_stormie. See y'all soon!
