  1. Here is the raw umber reapplied, and Fullers earth too - the chest plate is being cleaned up a bit though as it's a bit *too* gritty and it needs to be consistent with the cleaner abplate. I've got a wire mannequin that the whole assembled belt/chest and ab bits will be hung on soon, so consistency will be ensured. I'm looking to try and get my weathering like Mike TK1536's armour as his is without a doubt THE best weathering in the entire galaxy ("mah hero!!!!") Anyways, more pics as the day progresses!!!
  2. Can't see the colours clearly, got any larger shots? Still too clean mate, slather it on!!!
  3. Sure I can do a pic - in or out of armour
  4. Today we will be softening the current look and mellowing out all the spotty bits, adding another patchy layer of burnt umber, then possibly some small patches of the yellow (but I'm not too keen on too much yellow) then dulling it with the fullers earth. Not even started the backpack yet, do most people just use Fullers on that, or do they use pigments too?
  5. Here's where I got mine: http://www.tk2441.co.uk/weathering/index.htm Please note, NOT FINISHED!! But this is progress so far. Thumbs Up Lots more layers and fullers earth and general crustiness to apply yet Wink As for if the pack gets heavy, apparently I can troop without it - cos the Sandys in the film didn't all have packs - as long as I do the initial first shift of a troop WITH the pack - but I'll see how it goes. I intend to try and be all hardocre and carry everything - probably to the detriment of my arms

  7. Feels very comfy at the minute, though what it'll be like after an hour long shift plus carring a T21 I don't know Weathering still in process of the armour - not even started the pack yet - going well but may not be finished for tonight....may post some "in progress" pics on the Weathering section though
  8. Bee-stinger lid tie wrapped to main body for extra security. Side view showing placement on Alice pack frame ALL DONE WOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! Onto the weathering........
  9. One of Steve's friends remarked that "it looks like a c*ck pump" Dunno what dodgy shops he's been hanging out at Another Philistine
  10. Had to share this: my mate Fyzal has just said that my TD backpack "looks like a Slush Puppy maker" Uneducated Philistine!!!
  11. That's the same as the one in Steve's loo :o I've just got another request from a US Trooper to send him one of these cisterns: http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/cat/pro.js...=44047&ts=64776 To save on bulk postage I may start an interest thread on who wants one of these, as they are cheaper than the £9.95 one in the first URL. Shipping to the states was £9 plus £1.50 for the box I have to buy to send it in. I can get a bulk order in and save postage to get them to me, then ship them to individual troopers? Postage to me is free but there is a £5.95 "packing and handling" fee that remains the same no matter how many cisterns I order. Better to order bulk than individually and have to keep paying the £5.95? What you think..........
  12. It was a vacuformed bit from TK1536 Here is the latest pic: At the moment the angle of the top box is too slopey, this is due to the bend in the Alice pack frame - will be rectified tonight. Mortar tube and disc will also be attached too, then Bob's your uncle The base boxes are tie-wrapped onto the frame so if I decide to switch frames it won't be a stretch to remove them. Here is how the base boxes were fastened together. Balsa glued round the rim, then thin foam, filler, hot glue then paint! More kudos to Steve for putting it all together
  13. I'd slap a bit more dirt on your helmet my boy....oooh that sounds pervy
  14. No No and a thousand times no - keep looking, there will be better packs out there
  15. Some interesting reference pics here: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...=ADME:B:SS:UK:1 http://imagehost.vendio.com/bin/viewimage....e47c-1e850&sp=1
  16. Any recommendations for black dye to dye my canvas pouches with? Are we talking just the plain Dylon stuff, or is there something else? Preferably a dye you don't have to use with mega-hot water, if some people have said the heat dries out the leather straps....ta!
  17. Mine was tested on Saturday and was mega louder and much better tone, but I'm moving it back to sit behind my chest plate, as I don't like my voice coming out from near my butt, and everyone who I spoke to leaned towards my lid, and heard Rache voice not Trooper voice!!!
  18. I think a bit more muck on the face dude My turn this weekend, so expect pics Sunday night!!!
  19. http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/cat/pro.js...=44047&ts=64776 I just got one of these for a US trooper and posted it to him, he PayPal'd me the ££££. Let me know if you want me to get you one....it came to £10 for the cistern (inc their postage) then another £9 postage to the States.
  20. More pics - but my digicam has gone a bit goofy so there are white pixels all over the shots To fasten the bellows to the base box we put a large tie-wrap round the bellows.... ...........then threaded a narrower tie wrap through the fat tie wrap and through holes in the base box Two screws were put through the round part of the toilet cistern and through into the box. Solid as a rock now! Exhaust port detail - screws yet to be painted black Need to fasten base boxes together then mount on frame, et voila!
  21. From this: To this: Build starts today so will have ore pics as it progresses...
  22. Bugger, we've already trimmed them and sprayed them too
  23. We're putting all the backpack bits together but the seed box halves don't exactly meet up - what's the best way to fasten them, and maintain some rigidity? Do people fasten them to the frame them just permenantly glue them? Or do you hinge them fro the top then just use the electrical tape to keep them together? Need solutions as we gotta get this built this weekend! Have PMd Seth but no reply yet so scouting for more options. Ta!
