Thanks man!
No, no mod on the AB plate. Are you referring to the little rivet head? If so, MTK comes with those! I have seen people that just put a rivet there and paint over it, looks legit!
-
Yup, MTK armor. And yes, I modded the top left thigh myself.

Looking good man!

I think the mushroom cap should be about even with the top of the seed tray.

Just an update for the new year, but these kits are always available.
-
Condolences my friend. Never a good thing to hear.
All the best to you and your family bro....

Now I'm getting excited!!!!!!

Make no mistake, it is hard, but not so hard you cant do it. It is time intensive, especially if you do it right. And very satisfying when you finish it. And it can be an expensive hobby.
Have you purchased any armor yet?

I am offering the knob and strap mount kit for radios. Kit comes with the large knob, two small knobs and two strap mounts. I modeled, printed and cast these. Kits are $33.85 shipped CONUS, $45.85 "MOST" everywhere else. I desgned them to fit the Trooperbay radio faceplate, but sizing wise, they should fit on any face plate you have or make.
Here is a pic of mine before weathering.
And after weathering.
I have several sets ready to go now. If anyone is interested in this kit and Bee Stinger Topper kit, I will combine shipping. In most cases since these pieces are relatively small and light weight, the shipping does not change anyway.
Thanks!!!!

Welcome Ryan!
It does seem daunting at first, but if you are patient and take your time, it is very doable. There are many threads here that will help you. I am not sure about where you are located, but there is probably a squad close to you that can help also. First and foremost though, read, read, READ!!!!
-
Thanks Brian!
I will have these available for some time if anyone is interested. I have a thread posted in the FOR SALE section.
-
A little update, but I posted a thread in the For Sale section offering these kits. I think they turned out well

I have poured and made a buck for my topper. Gonna try to pull one in the next week or so. I have been building armor for someone else and it has taken away from the project a bit. But soon....

I have been meaning to put up a few pics since getting my PO status. I have been out a good handful of times already, but here is a few recent pictures. I pulled a double duty of two events this past weekend. The first was a Diabetes Walk in Griffith Park in the morning, then out to Frank and Sons in Industry I think....
Diabetes Walk....
And Frank and Sons. We got there a little late, the 501st booth had already been taken down, but we still suited up and walked the area
So far, every outing I have done I am the only TD. It's been fun every time
And I almost forgot about the Dark Net event we did that was put on by the Space X folks...
Any updated methods on dying/coloring MP40 pouches?
in Pouches, Pauldrons, and other Accessories

Most of the canvas pouches have nylon thread. I used black clothing dye and it worked great to dye the pouch, but did nothing for the thread. For that, I used a sharpie and just colored them in. It all looks black as it should
