  1. Are those the 6 inch figures? I have the orange pauldron black series, they just don't look as nice when they're still in the box! Need some action poses lol...
  2. Juan...you are really the ONE to blame...but I didn't see the previous post. CRAP... Two
  3. Gotta get the black pauldron one and The Lord Vader w removable helmet!
  4. Congrats on the baby! And congrats on the soon to be 501st acceptance. Looks like an easy in. Only piece I could see that would look better changed is the breast plate. Mines gonna fit the same, just would like to see less black between the chest and shoulder bells. Won't hold anything up with MEPD deployment either, just one of my many peeves....
  5. Looks outstanding man. Suit fits you well, and the weathering is awesome. I like the "not over the top" but realistic look of the weathering.
  6. It looks like the face should be pushed in some so there's more overlap at the edges of the face plate to cap/back area. Some kits have more overlap than others, but needs enough for the ear piece fasteners to have a little margin on the face piece. And I'd concentrate more on the overall look of the face being somewhat ventered(as I don't think there is a perfect center due to assemetry) and how you want the brow positioned. You could trim some around the bottom to transition some of this away. The look changes a lot once the ears are on, and really helps to make things look right. Long story short though, be happy with the upper features and settle on the bottom.
  7. @ Jancelot- the tape sounds like a great tip. That'll better secure the straight edge to the work rather than pressure alone. The E6000 is great stuff if you lightly sand the mating surfaces, and clean. Gotta have some patience as the tack free time is not necessarily a good indicator of hold compared to full cure ( several hours anyway)
  8. Got the ruler, got some pieces cut out. Ready to glue the inner strips on the forearms, and I have enough cover strips cut for the outside of the biceps and forearms....thanks guys! Now the E6000....wife threw it away cause it was half empty. Crud...
  9. That sucks but I know you're right....headed to Home Depot....
  10. As the title states, I'm looking for some precut cover strips. Haven't had any issues cutting the armor, but keeping straight lines on the cover strips has been my nemesis. Looking for 3/4" wide for the biceps and forearms, and some 7/8" wide for the legs. Any help is appreciated!
  11. Armor ordered. Feeling stoked!
  12. Well, I've totally decided to go TM on this, at the point of"Shut up and take my money!" Lol. Paul must be swamped as he hasn't been able to get me a quote yet.
  13. Did anyone notice Han putting his helmet on sideways first on the Death Star?
  14. I'm pretty new here, but absorb info like a sponge. ABS varies batch to batch slightly. If you're going more screen accurate, I'd paint the helmet with Rustoleum industrial gloss white and not worry too much on slight difference . The real ones were painted, and after seeing some of the "chipped" effects added to lids I gotta throw down a little mint green then some masking fluid to capture some of that. If you don't paint it though, I'd wager that after weathering and the fact that you have the pauldron and a pouch in between the whites, you'd never notice any ABS color difference.
  15. Looking great man! So close now!!!
  16. Thanks Felice! That answers that perfectly!
  17. Looking thru the CRL, the helmet acceptance for the third level states that "No FX, MRCE, or ANHv2 helmets are allowed. Been around long enough to know what and how bad the FX helmet was/is, but what is a ANHv2 lid? Is that from a particular seller? Something outdated?
  18. Nice.... Thanks guys! I've decided on the TM if I can get ahold of Paul.
  19. If you were choosing between RS and TM, which would you choose and why? I'm looking to buy a set and know there's some differences in lineage vs fan made, and some of the kinks being worked out by TM. This is not to try to say either is better than the other, as I know both are very great gear, just trying to resolve the question for me. I'm 5'10" and 194 lbs. if that helps. Thanks for any replies or opinions.
  20. Never introduced myself here either. Been working on a Jango and a Boba, then decided to push the Boba back a bit and concentrate on a TD. Can anyone say ADHD? The Jango is nearly done as far as acquisitions are concerned. Flight suit is being altered so may have it ready for 501st submittal by November at my current speed or lack thereof. Was hoping to be done by DragonCon but unfortunately that's not gonna happen. Had some RS a whileback, and had lost interest in it and sold it. What happens next? Yup, change my mind lol. Currently assembling an AP set, and just got a Gino lid from rottie here on the forum. Got my pauldron, pouches, and boots. Plan to have the armor pieces ready for strapping in about a month. That's when I"ll need all the help I can get from sme of you old timers. Not planning on SA strapping, just something that's durable/functional. Glad to be here!
  21. Oh well. Something to work towards later then!
  22. Would be nice if it didn't show the seam, but not bad at all. If mine turns out that well I'd have no complaints....
  23. So you can't be deployed if you assemble a non-pack TD?
