  1. Link? I believe he is talking about the private MEPD group. I was added to it sometime last year.
  2. is a little smiley face giving you a thumbs up. Like "looking good. Good work. Thumbs up."
  3. Wow. That's a big gap at the knees, no?
  4. And I cant trade it for candy or blue milk. :/ @DarthAloha - I was going through profiles so I can contact female TDs for the other project that we have, I came upon one that is no longer in the profiles. She only shows up in her posts. There is no profile associated any more. She is now "Guest Nicolette". I'm not sure how the software deleted her profile. Nor have I looked to see if other forum members (who we have not seen in a while) are affected by it.
  5. Alright - now whats this at the top of the page of my profile "DAYS WON" ? Apparently I have won a day. Is this like winning "one free internet"?
  6. Hello @OneDapperSapper and @Squall @Squall There are canteens for sale in this thread
  7. Sorry to bump - I was looking through some images of a restoration project on WW2 military vehicle, and looking through images and some Q-panels from a c130. It gave me an idea. I looked up the requirements for painting vehicles by the military during WW2. In a mention from the US military's FM5 manual dated July of 1944, there is a color listed as "lusterless blue drab". The blue was commonly used on stencils or markings. My line of thinking was - The costuming crew seemed to have used a lot of leftover surplus military items, right down to the guns. Is it possible that they may have also used any paint? Also - all this time we have been assuming that the paint used was/is a gloss. This is a matte finish. this is why perhaps the bottles look like two different colors in sunlight and indirect light. A bright blue in sunlight and a grayish blue in indirect light. The paint when delivered to the military was in a paste form. This way it could be mixed in different forumlas for different uses, like on clothing instead of a truck. I did order a sample of the paint from a manufacturer who found an original unopened can of the "lusterless blue drab". It arrived. It looks right but not exactly right, because the sample is on metal, not a white plastic bottle. But I do believe I am on to something. When I get around to it - I'll order a spray bottle and test it on different plastics. Also - I hope to look for a British or German military field manual that may have more information of paint. Perhaps the answer to whatever blue this is, is there.
  8. Visually - Thermal detonator on the back, drop boxes, ab buttons and the knee plate. Those to me are what differentiates a TK from a TD.
  9. Perhaps when it comes to voting - we give the option of three final names? and then break it down to the one? I have see at least four or five that I currently like. edit - there may be an influx of posters soon (hopefully), I am attempting to contact the other 33 TDs (not including those who have posted and myself...which is what 2?) edit 2 - When it comes to patches - can we have Juan design it? I know that some of us already have friends that do our local stuff. But Juan is MEPD. Want the money to go to a fellow Sandy.
  10. There were some Black Widows that chimed in on the Facebook thread. If you could add those. No way. Those things make me so angry, and I like arachnids. And they die super easy when you swat them. They are like a last minute idea that whomever you believe in, made. "Lets see. I've got some spider parts left over. And some scorpion parts left over. Don't want things to go to waste. Et voila! Now I gotta come up with a cool name, cause ugly hairy mismatched solifugae doesn't have a ring to it."
  11. Sooo no candy JK things are looking great. AND - I forgot to mention, the "load more activity" appears to be working.
  12. Hay, can I trade my reputation points for candy?
  13. I don't think so? Why would it? This is (I believe) open to all female (and those who identify) as female TDs. Doesn't matter where they are.
  14. Yeah, I had thought about that. That was my suggestion. side tracking here as well, my grandfather had fought against Rommel in Africa, but he always spoke of a great admiration and respect for Rommel. And I think that WW2 is starting to fade into memories and younger people might not even think of the reference until it's pointed out. Kind of like the arrow in the fedex logo. As mentioned on the FB page - there was a hint of using the word Sand and Sisters in the name. I had postponed mentioning anything until is was brought up by a guy. in case it was not understood - Sometimes when we females are perceived to have an attitude, we are told to "get the sand out of our ******". Regarding swag - I do have a friend who does pin up art - He looked at the JRS Black Widows patch and said -"We can do better".
  15. Welcome Pawel. Dubai. Wow. The last time I was in Dubai, it wasn't really much. Just an airport and a swirly clock tower. Nice place to be now.
  16. Putting it on a 4-5 inch patch shouldn't be a problem. The design gets digitally printed, and as long as you have less than 9 colors, you should be good. Our garrison had a patch design for the Darth Vader Balloon. It had a lot of detail. http://www.db501st.com/joomla/components/com_db501st/assets/images/patch/full/dewback10thannivaibfv1-f.jpg
  17. Thanks. I was thinking the little box would get cluttered with the different tabs.
  18. I'll ask again because it got buried by all the pretty tabs and the humongous signatures - Who is eligible for the "501'st member" icon?
  19. HAH! So I wasn't imagining it. Thank you for fixing that. Regarding the "view more content" issue. I wont mark the forum as read. I'll give it a few days to let the forum fill with posts. Then I'll click the "view more content" and see what I get. I'll let you know if that is working or not. Who is eligible for this "501st Member" icon?
  20. Welcome Jerome. I think I may know you. I think you are one of Tasha's friends?
  21. That would be perfect if you have any Galactic Academy kids wanting to do a Sandtrooper, and making them a pack.
  22. Thank you. As a former admin from a forum that also had a similar hack / attack - it is a daunting task to sort through hundreds of sign ups that are spam and maybe a few are actual people, and I appreciate the effort that you work at. Our forum never recovered. So I know you guys work at keeping the thing together.
