I made mine. It has two pieces at the back. There is the collar and then a tab that is separate. The ends of the collar have Velcro, and the tab piece is the softer side of Velcro. This way it is adjustable. When I do wear it, I usually wear it loose, as I don't want to overheat.

before I was in the 501st - one year for Halloween I had crafted one of those cheap $1 pumpkin candy buckets into an Ewok head. Blood and gore. I had found one of those scary teddy bear masks at the thrift shop and changed it into an Ewok. Was a TK handing out candy from an Ewok head.

So far, we SHOULD be getting the Mimban Trooper, barring any challenge from another detachment for it...Nothing is official until the CRL is done.
That is what I was asking. So "we" don't have the trooper officially.

Your armor should be fine for level 1 Mimban but for anything higher, you really need R1 style armor. I'm looking forward to that CRL to come together.
"We" already have the Mimban trooper?

I picked mine up on Friday. The dewback is really awesome. The only downer about it all is that the pauldron is, in fact, grey-
repeating the old mistake from the 90s.
Overall awesome though.Where did you find yours?

What is the controversy surrounding the merchandise, or is that classified?

Gordon can help walk you through it. I have been working on a similar patch idea. But have stalled due to racing season, work, logistics, and have decided to hold off until the recent merch problem has cleared up and sorted.
IIRC - LMBOs are the ones that are allowed to post interest threads. But rules may have changed.

What do you snap your forearms to then? The undersuit?
I have some foam padding in my fore arms. I think they just stay up from the foam rubbing against the fabric of my shirt. Kind of like Velcro in a way. No snaps for me.

Looks like he's maybe been patrolling the sewage treatment plant!
Hanging out with Dengar.
I don't know if anyone else remembers Wizard Comics Magazine. They had the segment (similar to Robot Chicken) and there was one frame with Dengar as a plumber/maintenance worker - "Hi. I'm here to fix the backed up toilets".
Guess we could call that guy "Waste Treatment Trooper" -
Put my refund to the fund that would make this forum run better.

Do you mean like what is called a "fitted bandana"? Usually see motorcyclists wear them.
Ill have to pass on that. -

I'm in the US. Did a search for the part you listed and came up with the modern version, which isn't quite the same...
Do have leads on a couple of people that make reproductions though.Of course it isn't the same. This is where you get out the dremel, bondo, sand paper and paint. But if you got the ching ching to spend on repro stuff and don't have a body shop at your disposal, then you do you.

There is an issue with the radio from Tosche Traders. They were found to have recast Woodman's radio. They appear to have been moving away from Sandtrooper parts since.
It will take time to source all of the parts for a pack.
I believe we had a thread where the MEPD members who cast and make their own items, were listed, it may need to be updated though. I picked up a back pack frame that is close to the original frame. Unless you are going for SWAT - the frame you work with has to resemble screen accurate. Which would mean tweaking it on the curve to get the angle right.

I dunno. I don't wanna be like those other guys.
We are dirty and hanging out in a desert. We aren't on squeaky clean military installation/moon.
How about a hat worn by military stationed in a desert?
Like maybe a German DAK Afrika Corps cap. Or a Afrika Corps Forage cap?
Or maybe even the original "boonie" - Russian military Panama hat.Or why not a bucket hat. As a nod to "Bucket hat guy with the cig hangin outta his mouth"

Still looking for the Sonix and siphon. Have seen lots of mention of Crashmann (and links to pictures of his parts) but can't find any reference of how to contact him. Anyone have any leads on that?
Not sure where you are, but I got my siphon from All Bits plumbing in the UK.
I shaved down some of the plastic (where the hook is) and bondo'd it.
It was listed as
Toilet WC Cistern For Lever Macdee Round 3 Part Syphon Rapid Fit Flush Unit 9"
If they do not have it, at least you have the name of the product to search for in other shops. You most likely will have to search for UK sellers, as that style is not used in the US.

Relax trooper He retracted that statement. You need PO before SWAT, and you need a pack for PO.
Yeah, kind of a wrench in the works for no pack troopers.
No prob. I know about the PO before SWAT .
But cost of building a pack for approval purposes in order to progress to a no pack SWAT trooper just blows. I blame Noel and Daniel. On 3/28/2018 at 3:06 AM, dutchy said:I'm sorry for the caused confusion @Fraulein But I also overread the rule that you first must go for PO and then SWAT..
Understood. There are some differences in the CRL over at the main 501st and the one here (I think here). There are some wording differences. One or the other has not been updated. But I don't recall which one.

Well, if you decide to go for SWAT immediately after basic approval and you won't need a pack as this specific trooper doesn't wear one. But if you want to go for PO first, that will require a backpack and having no pack will not get PO approval.
woah woah woah. I was informed that I could not be the roadblock captain (v2) for SWAT unless I had completed PO and that meant I was required to build a pack, even though the captain (v2) does not have a pack. This is the reason for me just sticking with plain old level 1. And not moving to PO. Because of $$ of building a pack that I will only require for approval purposes.

I rocked a fez earlier this year. We were messing around in a surplus shop that had militaria. It was a waffen fez though. So I could see people getting upset with that buuuut it did look snappy.
A Glengarry cap was spiffy as well.

As far as the 501st access goes you’ll need to request access via the “request 501st access” thread in the Barracks section of the forum.

Totally be in for minimum of ten.

Depends on the event. And what troopers are there.
If there is my favorite Jawa, I'll usually drag around with her like keep an eye on her. She plays around like she is trying to steal everything or touch shiny things. I'll stand and give her a "put it back" motion, or "hands off" or the "scolding finger".
If there are other TDs then it's serious. Or Ill play the foil to whoever is being the most serious.
My character is usually fun. However - If there are kids and they are frightened or there is a child with special needs that is unsure or having a difficult time processing (I work with special needs kids, and I somehow have the ability to spot them) I go out of character and come down to their level and remove the helmet. Take time out of trooping. Show them the helmet. Let them put it on.

The only possibility I see is that trooper in the center stands sort of like a female. The only female I see in any of the photos, is what appears to be the script reader. When people go off script. She is the one with the floppy hat.
I don't believe though she was a sandy. Most of the photos autographed are random sandies. There is never one sandy pointed out, in the photos I have seen. If you were in different scenes, you would sign your autograph over the one you portrayed right, or maybe put a tick mark to that one right?
