  1. Glad it turned out correct. I know that feeling when you think something is not right. That was cool that you whipped out that reference so fast, pu ya, good work trooper....
  2. Yes sir, good to see you over here. This captain has some specific details to obtain to capture the "look" . You seem to be on the right track. Check your reference photos, and you will knock it out of the park. Good luck. I am about to go for SWAT with the Cantina Sergeant. So, I feel your pain bro... Take care.
  3. Ya know, I was thinking that. Some kits had only one side of the moulds, so they have matching pieces here and there. The originals had one thumb print on the left. TE must have modified the biceps to work. Move along..lol
  4. Cool. I remember this trooper having one of his mic tips askew. Check up on that. There are a few cool builds for this trooper on here . Lots of good reference material. Good luck. Nice work.
  5. Cool, ya know what I just noticed? The thumb print is supposed to be on the left arm.... Not sure if theat is a mirrored image, but it may not need to be adjusted for deployment though. Man, always something ain't it...??? We are all here for support my friend, glad I could help .
  6. Nice work Matt, really looks consistent . Congratulations ... For real... I know you deserve it. Lots of time and effort you have in that rig...
  7. Do you do this in full armor? Calfs off maybe? Good luck man...
  8. Oh, and of course try to make all the armor parts even in weathering.
  9. Matt, looks ok , a bit on the dark side..lol, the legs anyway. Tom had me go over mine twice as well. I used black first. Rub it on, wipe most off, leaving some in the cracks and random spots. Then I mixed raw umber with a lighter brown, made a color in between, as the black adds the darkness. Again rubbing on, wiping off. Making sure to leave some pigment behind. Some of my armor went very smooth. I did have one of my thighs took me two hours... I kept wiping all the ain't off. That was frustrating. Going over it essentially 4 times, twice with each color, really added some cool layers. My main trick( secret weapon ) was wet sanding very lightly with 600 grit paper after the paint had fully dried. No body would back me up on this, but when I built my clone, it worked like a champ. It leaves the dark color in the lows and brightens up the high spots, just be super careful you don't go to hard , as you will have to start all over again. After wet sanding , I hit a few areas with pigment, like the chest and some other areas where you want the armor to be the dirtiest ( think where the dust, dirt and oild would settle naturally ) You got this man, almost there.... I would lighten the legs, just a bit with wet sanding, and do the torso once more, getting the nooks and crannies , then wet sand.... But shhhh, that parts a secret...lol Good luck, Matt , I'm pulling for ya brother...
  10. Thanks guys, I had a blast this weekend at the Con. Found the droid I was looking for, stopped in at the cantina, and definitely represented MEPD.... My armor was very appealing to the masses and I think it was up there with the best costumes thanks to all the research and help from my dirty brothers getting me straight . Thanks again fellas for all the support.
  11. Thanks man, will do, I've got a lead on some droids have been spotted north of my quadrant. Some rebel scum in the area as well. Going to go pay them a visit. Lol. Yes sir, Matt . Will do.
  12. Not too shabby. The buttons are a tad bit crooked, and the plate looks like it could be a tad bigger, but it looks pretty good for home made...
  13. Heck yes, Thanks Mike, for helping me get approved and enrolled into the precinct . I need to thank RS for the armor, Dirty Boy for the pack, and Blaster for the pouches, Slave Five for the DLT-19 and everyone else in the Star Wars Community, who has helped me with support and feedback. Proud to be part of the MEPD and will Maintain control of the Outer Banks and keep it on lock down until we find those blasted droids.
  14. I wonder if you could cut out three buttons on the TK plate, and use them for the side buttons? Seeing how you really don't need the TK plate. I guess they may be a bit different in size , shape and configuration. Good luck. Also, there is TrooperBay.
  15. Thanks guys, it was truly a labor of love. I did have my reference picture of the specific pattern. Got it close on the chest. Need to bring it up over the pauldron and a bit on the lid. Getting super close.
  16. Thanks Rick. I love this thing. Going to a convention this weekend with the TD.
  17. Ok, So I got the weathering beefed up a bit. Photos Below. SCRIBBLER,I got my TD designation today... do i need to paste my TD link?
  18. So I got my TD designation today...Yes Sir.. Super stoked to be bringing my TD to my First Official 501 troop. Here are some more pictures of my weathering. Getting Closer... This is the face of happiness. So, What do you guys think?
  19. There is a little strip of ABS with the buttons formed into the piece. Just like the AB buttons on a TK. Cut it out, glue it on.
  20. Anybody else have any suggestions? Am I on the right track for SWAT?
