  1. Looking better all the time. Hope your mom is doing better too. Thanks for keeping is updated on your build.
  2. I think the lands end ones natch very close. Only difference I can really see is that they don't have 2 pull straps. I am looking to see wether this is an issue. I wouldn't think so cause you never see the pulls. It seems very hard to find any better ones than these since tkboots.com is basically out of business
  3. I have been scouring the forums but it seems alot fo the neck seal discussions have pictures that are not showing up now or links to people who no longer make them. Can anyone tell me a better idea of what you need to look for? I read the CRL and have looked at pictures but I'm just lost on this one. Is there someone on MEPD that makes Officer or SWAT Grade ones?
  4. Ive noticed the same thing Eric. I see some of the items but not all of it. and sometimes while trying to load it just spins and spins
  5. Looks very good man. Great looking Build. Hope your able to get through the suspense and the scrutiny and make any minor detail changes so you can join the Elite SWAT Squad. One thing about coming to the SWAT section. It really makes me think about my build and How I will do it. Plus with all the scrutiny and the pictures most of these are almost better to look at than the HD screenshots of the movie for refernces. They give very good ideas for rivet placement , Brow Height, weaponary and more. Good Luck!!
  6. That is pretty Sweet Rolf. Im sure alot of people would love to see the originals without all the added stuff from the Blu Ray edition in Hi Def. Thanks for sharing.
  7. Very Good Weathering Tutorials. Thanks so much for this Post it will help when I start weathering My Armor for sure. It also helps me to feel alot less intimidated after watching your video. I actually feel like even I could do a half way decent job weathering with this type of video to guide me.
  8. Amen to this Rolf! This forum is awesome and you guys truly are a talented and fun bunch to be around. KEEP IT SANDY BOYS!!
  9. This thing looks Badass! I must say you guys both did a super job on this piece of hardware. I bet anyone on here would like to carry this as part of their kit.
  10. Hello my name is Aron. I'm 34. Been a huge Star Wars Fan since about age 4. First Movie I ever saw in the theatre ws ROTJ. I ahve always dreamed of making a trooper costume and After finding your site and finding out how cool and fun you guys here are as well as the wealth of info found here, I've desided to go to the Dirty Side! I'm stating up a Build Platform now and have already contacted and met several memebers and purchased items through them. I am super excited to build a Great Looking TD and hopefully becoming a deployable member to help the great causes that our local 70th Garrison of the 501st does here in the Kansas and Missouri Area. I have a wife and two children. My oldest is 5 now and he already really likes Star Wars. Its awesome to share the love of the Wars with him. I look forward to getting to know you guys better and maybe even seeing you out trooping once my kit is done. MEPD is one of the best internet resources and communities I have come across and I'm proud to be a new member of it. Hopefully I'll learn lots from you guys and won't let you down. I will strive to make a kit that is worthy of being in your Company. Im currently working on getting my Twin Brother on here as well, and he is going to start a kit soon also. After seeing Return of the Jedi at the movies. My brother and I begged Mom to get HBO for awhile so we could see the original Star Wars. She finally gave in and got it for us and we wtached it hundreds of times. Then when we finally had a VHS player we bought the movies on VHS and later the THX Remastered Series followed by the prequels and then the Blu Ray versions. The scenes on Tattoine in Mos Eisley with the Sandtroopers and the Band and the hive of scum and villany have always been some of my most favorite though. Can't wait to get my kit together and start this Build!
  11. Hasty Im a newbie with the armor trimming too. However in Response to your question about Boots Lands End here in the states is having a good sale on Chelsea boots that should be good for trooper boots. They are almost identical to the CRL pics except they only have one pull strip on the back and not one in the front. But they dont see those anyways since your shin armour should cover it down that far. but otherwise they are very close http://www.landsend.com/products/school-uniform-mens-fulton-chelsea-boots/id_242654 they are marked down from 159 to 94 and right now you can also get 30% additional off and free shipping. They seem to run small so most folks have bought a half size bigger than they where in dressw shoes or what not. I havent got mine yet but ordered this week. Coupon Code is GRAND PIN: 2055. Just enter that at check out and you get the 30% off plus free shipping. Means after tax boots are only about 72 dollars. thats the best deal Ive seen in awhile on real leather trooper boots.
  12. Here is a link to the Norwegian ones I found. THey look half way decent for the price but not sure if anyone else has seen or used this type. They are reproductions . http://www.militarytour.com/reproductions/ww11/Other/NorPouch.htm
  13. Hey Guys. I'm new around here and thanks so much for the reference pictures and such. Where is a good place to buy these pouches? Ive seen many on EBAY and some norwegien ones. Not sure what to get but want to make sure I get a good set thats either Black already or can be died. Also should they be canvas, or leather? and the tool pouch I think has to be off to the side not in the middle.
  14. So do you guys think these Bass boots would pass well for TK Boots once painted.. They look pretty close to most the other boots I've Seen here. They dont have a pull strap on the front but you wont see that anyway once they are on. The toe Is rounded but also slightly squared not sure if this makes a difference. Im trying to decide to get these Bass ones or the Lands End that are on sale right now. http://www.amazon.com/Bass-Mens-Amsterdam-Ankle-Black/dp/B002LZT9IG/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1380565201&sr=8-3&keywords=chelsea+boots First linik is for the Bass ones. This second is the lands end. http://www.landsend.com/products/mens-fulton-chelsea-boots/id_228833?cm_mmc=Shopping_com-_-null-_-FP-_-data_feed&applyPromo=0&promoState=FSCS-_-VALID with coupon codes they both cost around 70-75 dollars with tax and are nice leather. I think The Bass ones would be slightly more comfortable to guys with wider feet casue the toes are not quite as narrow. Again though looking to see if these are ok for 501st and or MEPD approval once painted. I want to buy a set thats going to qualify for sure.
