  1. OMG! How have I missed this? Mind blown haha (If your intrested there's a small text on wookiepedia covering this )
  2. AWESOME! They mixed the two things I like the most, Pokémon and starwars However it does bug me that he used the wrong "I'm your father thing"
  3. I believe he goes under the same email as before but the pretty NON accurate AM armor has been replaced with an upgraded NE armor. It looks ok and fits todays' standards but what you hear most of is the problem getting the helmet to look ok. It comes in three parts for some reason and the round things on the ears simply look to small according to me. But non the less it is a good and pretty accurate armor, maybe not the best according to me but way better than AM. Good luck with the build and welcome to the mepd
  4. Hi and welcome to the mepd! Before you run straight into buying an armor it is important that you research A LOT. You COULD, if you would want, just buy yourself a "ready to wear out of the box armor" and start trooping but that kind of ruins the hobby. Building and researching the armor is the best part really. To get started you can read everything on this forum and also on fisd (our stormtrooper detachment). Here is a link to a great starting thread on their page. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/11538-the-various-types-of-armor-and-where-to-find-them/ Ohh, and PLEASE stay away from ebay, shepperton design studios and jedi-robe.. Everything there would need LOTS of trimming before even being accepted in to the 501st. Anyway welcome aboard and good luck with everything
  5. I've seen that most do it that way but just always thought the sound would be affected a lot. Are there any up or down sides to putting it in our pouches instead of chest from what you can see?
  6. Won't the sound be affected by the plastic if it sits right behind the chest?
  7. Let's see what others say from experience.
  8. And by T-21 pouch I mean of course a small Spanish pouch and not a big blaster
  9. That's true but I was thinking of attaching it with week magnets or something so I could just thread it through the neckseal and then in to the helmet and attach it to the magnet. When I want to take the helmet of it would easily come of from the magnet and be hanging by my neck instead. The benefit of this would be that you could "look" away from the mic if you need to cough or just don't want to be heard. what do you think of that?
  10. I also received it yesterday and it truly is a wonderful piece. Anyway I was just wondering the same thing. If the speaker fits in the tool pouch I'm guessing it's a good place to have it since it will be protected and the sound would be good and coming from around the head area. I have T-21 pouches and the problem I see is the sound coming from the waste instead of the head, has anyone experienced this problem? Or is it even noticeable? Haven't tried it yet but I'm also thinking of putting the battery and amp stuff in the chest and the mic I was thinking of fastening on the helmet but now when you mention it will it be better to have it fastened to your head maybe?
  11. First of all we want to see armored pics! (It's way easier to sort things out when you can see it). But it shouldn't be a problem to shim them Welcome BTW
  12. RS is one of the best armor makers out there (holds the first place with TM) and it comes with both TK and TD pieces. They have a website where everything says. Good luck with the build.
  13. Personally I would say that the greatest starting advice (which I never got) would be to research. I guess that you heard it but research everything and be sure to measure twice and double check everything before doing anything. This way you will get a painless build without having to replace a part or whatever. You should also ask plenty of questions, we are all here to help you achieve the best possible armor Good luck with the build and may the force be with you!
  14. Awesome helmet! It would be cool if you could get the shin crack on there so it would look even more accurate. Otherwise it's awesome
  15. (By saying that TD is the same as a TK i simply meant that asembling and puting rivets and cutting the parts etc are litteraly the same thus fisd is a better place for that since they have more members and thread. Personaly I prefer mepd but for the basics it's a good start. But ofcourse you are right there are diferences in the armor sorry for making it unclear )
  16. What ever you choose to do good luck and keep us informed.
  17. I actually used the DVH kit which is more accurate but more expensive than doopys (I probably would have gotten the doopys if I wouldn't have gotten the DVH kit secondhand for a reasonable price).
  18. Hi! First of all welcome to the mepd and the 501st legion! Head over to the introduction forum and let us know a bit about you. There are very few among us that create their armors entirely by themselves. Partly because vac-forming is a pain and the cost would be high but mainly because there are so many awesome armors already out there ready to be bought. The first step and the main step throughout this hobby would be to research. Everyone here can tell you that is the most important part without comparison. Here on the mepd forum we discuss everything TD related but to get a TD you must first build a TK so if you're a beginner the fisd (First imperial stormtrooper detachment) is the place to be to do you´r research. there are hundreds of builds and information posts that will lead you in the right direction and on the path to an awesome armor. Remember thought that it will take many hours of hard work and researching before you stand beside us with an awesome armor. It is a hard task but believe me that when you are standing there in your approved armor for the first time you will look back and realize that this was the best thing that ever happened . Good luck with everything and if you have any more questions feel free to ask, The guys here are very helpful
  19. Awesome job mates! Hope the armor bites aren't too bad
  20. Hi! I'm not entirely sure but I believe the original sterling barrel was 38 mm in outer diameter. Personally thought I use 42 mm mainly because it's the easiest to find (I know many people who's done the same) but also since no one will ever notice. The templates I used were created by TK Bondservnt over at fisd and it fits the 42 mm pipe without size adjusting (here are the links http://www.metalvideotube.com/starwars/BarrelFore.jpg (front part) http://www.metalvideotube.com/starwars/BarrelAft.jpg (rear part)). Hope this helps
  21. This is awesome! Might be the fastest SWAT thread this far. Truly wonderful job man
  22. Hate to see you go but from what I heard it's for the best for you Your always welcome back in the future! Good luck and have fun till we meet again
