Thanks man! Yeah I think my next build will not have such a high brow. But the details are indeed hand-painted - I'm not gonna skip the most fun part! I have a pretty steady hand. I did use a Trooperbay template for the tube stripes though. No way I'd have the patience for doing those without one. Here's a close-up: Thanks! Time permitting I certainly will.

Greetings! I've been lurking here and at the FISD doing research for a display lid build. I recently finished it, and I have to say it woulda turned out garbage had I not learned so much from the 'Troopers! I also spent a lot of time studying the real items on starwarshelmets.com, and wanted to build something in that spirit (a screen-used prop). This is a first-time effort, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, although if I get into actual trooping, I'd instead do something similar to what TD-4510 does in his weathering video.
