  1. Hi guys so I needed to replace my old CA boots and managed to pick up a pair of these reasonably cheap so thought Id have a bash at weathering them up (my first attempt at weathering) I used 2 colours of Tamiya paint but I think they've come out a bit too light so will need to add a darker layer, they also look a bit heavy heavy at the front but it would be good to have second pair of eyes looking over them so Id appreciate any feedback and tips. Oh and don't mind the dead fly in the 1st pic..............................
  2. Big congrats mate, I think you'll be wearing that grin for a few more weeks yet.
  3. Great pics and I really love your weathering. Is that Colin the Ape with you?
  4. BEST HOLIDAY PICS EVER..........EVER. Wow, thats amazing thanks for posting up the pics
  5. Over on FISD there's mention that its only one size with size 10 boots!!! All the strapping looks as per the origional with the bracket system. I think this may be sold as a display suit and not for wearing!!!! Imagine the hassle eFX would have if/when people start wearing them only to have something snap/break/come undone after a few months, it would be quite a customer relations issue with who repairs ect. Going to be interesting to see how their going to handle that? We understand, well expect things to break but Mrs Smith who buys it for Mr Smith for 2000 bucks wont expect that after a few months or even wearing for the first time.
  6. And there it went 133 British pound notes, cheaper to buy new (if you can get one)......
  7. haha, you guys, don't you know you cant rush perfection!!! Craig put in for clearance last night so its the old nervous waiting game now, all looked good to me though. We did both mention that the weathering looked very light but did someone say RS do that so you can add your own?
  8. Loved the StarWars arcade game, many hours spent playing that. I still like playing the Gamecube Rogue Squadron game, epic, "Red Five, Standing By"............... shame you have to play these games as the bad guys though.
  9. Yes Jay, that does help, many thanks. In simple I just really wanted to know how to weather the new lid to the same style/colour of my armour.
  10. Well done guys, troopers helping troopers, Fantastic stuff and I love the build pic's.
  11. Hi guys, So after spendind a little time with Craig's lovely RS setup Im getting the real urge to update my lid from my old 1 piece and match up with my FX armour. Im just a little concerned that my armour weathering is made up with actual sand so its not going to match and I cant seem to find any info on weathering with sand. I bought my armour from another garrison member and its about 3rd hand now built orgionally by "Leigh Lewis" who I dont think is active at the moment. Has anyone used/seen/got info on using a sand technique? Thanks
  12. It may be worth attaching the biceps to the shoulders with some elastic and snaps if the foam dont work to well Craig. The body suit was a bit tight so when you get the new one you should be able to get those thighs up a little but would'nt wont them to much higher as you'll increase the knee gaps and we need to try to get the shins a bit lower over the boots too so that knee gap is just something to watch, **** you being a freak at 6'4ft tall almost there though mate. Just need to close up that crotch gap too mate.
  13. Seriously though I love that bucket mate and most of it fitted well apart from the bits we discussed last night. Seeing your new gear makes me want to update mine, **** you lol. Couple of little tweaks mate and we'll be trooping the southcoast soon mate.
  14. LOOKS **** MATE, SORRY. Tell you what, I'll take it away for 8cans of lager and a pack of salt'n'vinegar crisps....... and im still doing you a favour
  15. Ive got both and there's pro's and con's for both. The Icom is a simple box and speaker which you charge and its lasts quite a while. The Romfx is a pcb board and speaker but with a seperate 9v battery so has a few more leads to hide, but no major issue unless you want to use an 8x1.5AA battery set up for a extra life/power which takes up a bit more space.
  16. Mate, it was one of those that when you have a lid break the sweat on the foam inside goes cold and makes putting your lid back on a little less nicer lol.
  17. Great troop at Marwell Zoo for an even much worthier worthy cause.
  18. Those darn Apes get everywhere and cause mayhem wherever they go, their great. Looks like a great troop.
  19. Great info, thanks Frank. Gives me an idea of something I may be able to use from work, hmmmmm.
  20. Nuts........ During my after-troop kit-check I noticed the sight on my E11 must have taken a whack somewhere and just snapped of only leaving a small part of it there. If anyone has any suggestions on how to fix Id appreciate the help or should I put it down to battlefield-ware??
  21. She said YES!!!! But yes, I took my girlfriend on holiday to Egypt and popped the question on a jetty looking over the Red Sea with the sun setting and brought her back as my fiance!!!! Looking at getting married in 2015, and yes I have told her to make sure it doesn't clash with a certain film that year lol. So yes, we'll have a wedding troop to organise soon, I'll do anything to get a troop eh, even marriage lol (and sorry I haven't posted in a while guys, just been super busy lately)
  22. Fantastic looking armour guys, just amazing to see you all together, well done. Little Lara looks great as well and I can sense the Force is strong in this youngling!!!
  23. Lee did both days Dave and really enjoyed himself, we had a bit of an emergency the day before with his TK as he's lost some weight but he worked hard the night before to get it fitting in the right places.
  24. Your a brave man Dave, great pics and sounds like you really enjoyed it.
