  2. I used e6000 on my blaster but i drilled and inserted steel pins in every juncture as well. Ive dropped it a few times and everything held together
  3. put it on for the first time. Pauldron is on the wrong side and the kidney plate and belt slid as i walked around but it was fun and hot in there What do you guys think.

  5. One of the blasters is mostly done now just some weathering and detail work like sights left. The rest of the armor is here but i have not gotten started yet. Nervous about building it. what do you guys think?

  7. Oh and by the way ATA kit is on the way should be here wednesday WOO HOO!!!
  8. After I got on the waitlist for armor I decided to tackle a few projects to keep busy and prepare myself for the incredible amount of work I'm sure making the armor will be. First I ordered my bucket and went ahead and put it together here are the results without lenses. Then i decided I might as well have a weapon so i got a doopy doos pipe kit and made this. ( i actually meant to order the full resin kit but i misclicked DOH!!) Finally i decided what the **** maybe I'll want a bigger one so I am working on a couple of t-21's. I figured might as well make 2 so i can do twice the work. Don't ask me why but it made sense to me. So what do you guys think? How am I doing? Is the helmet looking good for deployed status? This is the first time I've built any of this stuff.
  9. Progress report, Lid is basically done just waiting on blue stripes to come in. I ordered a doopydoo kit for the blaster i meant to order the full resin kit but mistakenly ordered the pipe kit. Having fun building that now. Unfortunately the kit does not include a scope and they don't have just the scope available. Does anyone have another source for one?
  10. Ok after many hours of work and many mistakes I feel like I'm making some progress. There are definitely plenty of mistakes in the build that I hope to hide when weathering LOL. Getting the ears to fit was the toughest part for me. Here are some shots so far. I ordered the stripes from trooperbay so that needs to go on later this week. I still need to figure out how to attach the lenses. because of my huge melon i can only get it on by putting it in sideways then turning. I guess thats unavoidable Do i need to put rubber trim along the bottom of the Helmet or is that just for comfort? Feel free to let me know what you think but be gentle LOL this is my first build. Thanks for all the info so far. You guys have been great with info and tips.
  11. This is a sandtrooper build btw in case that makes a difference in any advice Ok so i marked off all the areas for trimming but i need to wait for hobby lobby to open so i can buy some lexan scissors. I put a bend in the mic tip grates so that they look like they are coming out from the inside. Should the mic tips be painted completely black or should the very tip be left white? Should the interior also be black? I'm having a hard time finding info on what color paints I should use. I am in the U.S. so I have access to testors paint. Should i be using acrylic? I do not feel confident i can get the blue stripes right is there someplace I can buy decals? Thats it for now thank you so much for your help.
  12. Well i am now officially starting my build i asked ATA to send me the helmet kit now and the rest once it's ready. I received the helmet 5 days after I ordered it and am now excited/terrified to start the build. I'm pumped but totally nervous about screwing it up. I am curious why it came with 2 sets of ears. I would really welcome any tips or info on building. For example what specific colors are used for painting? What is the best tool to use for trimming? Thanks for all your help ahead of time. This is awesome!!!!
  13. Hello all my name is Ivan and I live in Phoenix arizona. I'm very interested in building sandtrooper armor and have read a lot about the various kits available but i'm still a bit in the dark. I'm 5'10" and 220 lbs and i have a 46 inch chest and a big head. Because of these facts lol i am afraid of getting a kit that won't fit. Does anyone have any suggestions about a specific kit i should be looking for to fit my frame? I want a set of armor that is as accurate as possible and dont' worry i know that building one will be a many month long process and i understand the work involved. Thank you guys in advance for any info.
