From the times I've seen it, airbrushing makes it look unnatural. Apply some watered down burnt umber with a sponge. Let it begin to dry and then blot most of it off with a paper towel. You can achieve layers with this method.

I was worried that you picked up an old FX kit or one of the other obsolete and horribly inaccurate armor kits from 10+ years ago but delighted to see it's an ATA so you should be fine. Their kit runs a bit slim though.

To smooth the siphon I gave it a light sand, then used 2 layers of spray putty, sanding with 400 grade wet dry in between coats. After that I put on a coat primer filler, sand then the black colour. With the seed trays I found that pack 4 has a 3 rib tray for bottom set (picture pulled from my PO application, thanks Bigwam)

You're going to have to do touch ups regardless. Spots that rub like the ammo pouches touching the thighs, cod rubbing the thighs, etc.

Yeah, your thigh armor is really long on you. I would highly suggest trimming it down some. I'm surprised your GML did not recommend this during your basic approval process. I would not be able to walk around at all with my thighs like that.

You're also going to need to modify those seed trays. The bottom one (battleship grey) needs to have 5 strips. The top (black colored) has 3 strips.

I think I'm going to have to print that shires siphon. What did you use to smooth it out?

Your thigh ammo plate is mounted too high on the thigh. It should be mounted on the ridge like so:

Looking good! I love your weathering. Only thing that kinda stood out to me is the bottles on the pack. They seem a bit narrow and long IMO.

I would get your pouches and pauldron here in the sale section. You'll get a higher quality of both! I'm a big time supporter of the TKTalkie even though I have not got around to upgrading to the latest v4 yet. Your WIP is right where it belongs.

Very nice! I used nylon on the side with the 6 split rivets to avoid the stretch.

Nagging FRUSTRATING problems with audio and Helmet

If you're using the TKTalkie, you can adjust the mic sensitivity. I also have to have it right against my mouth but I've intended it to be that way. When my wife comes up to me at troops and asks how I'm doing, I can sorta speak to the side of my mouth, without talking through the mic. I have my mic secured in my bucket with the tough velcro. I bend the arm and set it right below the two front teeth. I am able to grab it with my teeth if I need to adjust it at all.
