  1. And away we go! Here's how much I ended up cutting off the top of my Karrimor pack, close to 9": My T76 mortar tube caps were way too big and I really didn't feel like spending a day finding a 76-78mm pipe and settled with the 2" charlotte pipe many of us use. Had to have crashmann rush me these and like always, great customer service! I used these screws to assemble my pack. They work very well My T76 fuses or whatever they are called I forgot to take photos of the battleship grey tray assembly. If someone needs photos of the inside, I will cut the zip ties and take some. Here's how I did the black trays: Utilize screws that are securing items to the trays already. In my case, I had to use E6000 to glue in the L bracket for the one on the top left in the photo Match your drill holes to where the brackets are on the lid. Try to get it as close to the aluminum bracket as possible. If you can find some skinny zip ties that are long use those. I could only find large ones so I doubled up. It makes it much easier to get all 4 zip ties through: I had the great Quartermaster build my exhaust. John does some fantastic work and I'm glad he was able to hook me up. For the wire that wraps around the radio, I took some 22g kanthal wire. I have been vaping for about 4 years now so I already had it around. Cut a long piece of wire and fold it in half. Put the loop end in the chuck of your drill bit and hold onto the end with a pair of pliers. Slowly start the drill until you get the wire twisted to your liking. Need to find the best way to tuck the excess wire without it being difficult to remove so I can open up the radio I used these roller latches from Home Depot to secure the radio faceplate. I glued them a little below the edge and once they were dry, I put in the latch and put glue on top of it. Place the lid on and leave it alone until it dries and it'll have the right placement. If anyone needs measurements or questions just ask.
  2. If you're a fan of insoles, it won't hurt to get a larger size. My feet turned into hamburger meat a long time ago so I don't wear them but many 501st guys swear by them. I wear a size 9 shoe and have size 9 boots. Broke them in faster than any of my Army boots.
  3. Definitely not heard that. I just went to tkboots.com and on the front page it says they have your size ready to ship now. The screen used gloves and ones you'll need for PO and SWAT are chemical gloves that are made out of rubber.
  4. tkboots.com is where I got my boots undersuit top and bottom can be found at wal-mart and Amazon. chemical gloves found at home depot/lowes/wal-mart pouches are in the sale section here latex handguards and neckseals can be found over at whitearmor.net
  5. Here ya go: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/35086-ukswraths-anovos-tk-build/?p=466259 You can see it on this screenshot from ANH: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/gallery/sizes/1508-star-wars-a-new-hope-bluray-capture-01-232jpg/large/
  6. It's this one, but try to get one without the logo. A Dritz one from Walmart will work fine.
  7. I've almost got it completely assembled. Plan to post more photos of the build by the weekend.
  8. I'm short so mine is a tad lower than others might be
  9. Replace those machine screws with smaller diameter ones. Good job rebuilding the return edge.
  10. Fitment looks great. Maybe roll the shoulder bell forward some but yeah, looking awesome. Now roll around in the sandbox a bit
  11. click the smiley face and choose it.
  12. Finally building my new pack and trying to get as accurate as I can. I have the karrimor frame. I believe it's the K2 model Mocking up seed tray placement There's too much gap between the top of the seed tray and the top bar. Had to drill new holes and drop the bar down lower. Looks much better! Mortar tube is attached using the top bar screw
  13. Sorry, I edited my original post. The battleship grey is Rustoleum enamel. I got it on amazon.
  14. I'm getting there! Working on a new pack first then will go back and adjust armor.
  15. The more I look at screenshots and what it looks like it shadow, the more I believe it really wouldn't have made sense for production to use a specialized blue tinted grey. It's hard to really tell though. Definitely not overly blue like people have used for years now though. I'm sticking with what I have and hope whenever I get to apply for SWAT that it's accepted.
  16. Here's the side by side of the Rustoleum battleship grey enamel spray paint in light and in the shade: Direct Sunlight: Shade:
  17. A couple tubes of E6000, exacto knife and extra blades, cut resistant gloves, a dremel with sanding drum and cutting wheel, if you go with the original strapping method get the Mr. Nostripes strapping kit. That's just to start. Just read as many tutorials both here and over at whitearmor.net. Take your time and research screen used helmets. Look at small details such as how much flashing to leave in the eyes, tube stripe counts, etc. Mostly, have fun!
  18. It is definitely gray, almost primer looking. No blue what so ever which is a hard thing to get used to. I am agreeing that lighting played a big factor in making it seem like it was blue. Will have to wait and see when I paint and can play with lighting. I was going to order some RAL7031 but the only company in the US I could find was charging way too much for one can of spray paint custom made.
  19. I got some Krylon RTA9206 Battleship Gray from Amazon. Hope to have a chance to paint if weather permits this Sunday. I'll take a bunch of photos in different lighting.
  20. Check out http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/38-getting-started-read-this-first/ as it's a great base to learn the difference between vendors. Do your research and find out which one will work for your body type and budget. If you have any questions just ask!
  21. Can we have signatures enabled? It seems that when the forum was upgraded that option was not enabled.
  22. I can barely climb a couple of stairs in my armor. let alone 103 floors!
  23. Throw a bit of weathering so it blends in with the rest of the weathering and you should be all set!
