Airborne Trooper

I used Testors/Model Masters paint. Humbrol is just what they used originally. As long as the colors are correct, you can use any brand you want.

I've been in communications with a trooper on FISD and he's come up with a unique alternative to the iCOMM, ROMFX, and some of the smartphone apps. It runs on the teensy system which is a type of microcomputer. What I like about this system over some of the others is how easy it is to customize. I built the entire thing for less than $100 and it takes up less space than an iComm. The project can be seen at TKTalkie.com Here's how I had mine setup. I've made a few changes to other electronics since then though.

I can't sew for crap either. It doesn't have to be pretty, just functional.

From the CRL: No ribbed shoulder straps. Shoulder straps white elastic waist band material. (Sandtrooper chest and back are attached from within via soft straps, and do not have the plastic ribbed straps like stormtroopers).

2" is what I used.

You'll need to swap out the canvas shoulder straps for elastic.

Just be a little patient. It took a few weeks to get mine done.

Painting the inside is overkill. A lot of guys do it right off the bat, but it wasn't done with screen used helmets. Waiting for the Electronics section to be created here and I'll share my setup.

That's my garrison's newly appointed CO. Plan to get him deployed this summer.

2nd troop of 2017 was the annual Hannaford's Kidz Expo in Albany. This is actually my anniversary troop as the one in 2016 was my very first troop. Had a great time and was swamped by fans wanting high fives and pictures all day.

Best thing to do is have a second set of hands help you suit up and take pictures. Post them here and we can tell you what areas need looking at.
