  1. Yeah, I noticed the gaps are quite large - especially the right ear! The pic you posted - wheres that from? I'm curious about the yellow arrows
  2. Thanks guys!! A Bluey-approved Move Along brow is a great start! I've just started with the ears...bah... How big can the gaps be for it to pass? I guess I could fill them since I'm going to weather the helmet, but would much rather do it right. Any tips on how to do so from you maestros?

There - I fixed it, but had to make the pic 150x150px for it to accept it...

I´m trying to upload a profile pic/avatar, but it fails - what do I do wrong?? I've tried both uploading a pic from my HD and linking to a pic via url...
  5. Moving along, moving along... At last I have started my armour build - with two kids and a new old house AND my astromech project it´s hard to find the time. Luckily cutting ABS with a pair of scissors is a lot more couch-friendly (and thus GF friendly) than droid building Here´s a pic of my helmet- - what do you think of the brow height?
  6. V shape?? The leather pouches have pretty square flaps don't they?
  7. I found this vintage leather MP40 pouch - only paid 10usd for it, so I'm hoping I can use it. It is dark green in colour, so I'll have to dye it if it is useable (tips on how to colour it are much appreciated) What do you think?
  8. Wow!! The detail on that bucket is superb! Me want one!!
  9. Why is getting an extra bucket such a big deal? And regarding the teeth - isn't the 6 and 8 versions different - it's not just a matter of not cutting out a pair? Isn't the plasement/spacing different? I wholeheartedly support the system and rules the way they are atm. If you want deployment, get a backpack - it can be had for a very reasonable price right here. Or don't. If you want SWAT - go through **** and back to get that armour as accurate as possible - extra buckets, spanish pouches made by blind maidens and the thin blue wire on the BFG. Or don't. If you start bending the rules you will stray away from the accuracy aspect wich seems to be the whole point of SWAT? Heck, I paid 650 usd for my astromech's dome alone - just because the curvature of it is accurate - if I just wanted something that looked right-ish I could have used the 50$ lid of a Weber barbie... Does all SWAT variants require the 6 teeth, or just some? And why is 8 mandatory for regular deployment if many actually had 6 on screen? Maybe something could be adjusted regarding the rules here, but frankly I like it better when it's a bit tricky and you have to make an effort to get there...wish me luck.
  10. The kit arrived today, weeeeeeeee!! But I'm a total n00b and need all the hints and tips I can get. Any build threads, how-tos, vids or blogs that might help me move along (pun intended) are very much welcome!
  11. Ah, ok - I'll try that one then. Anything I need to do to the handplates before applying the glue?
  12. I have the white rubber ones but am having problems getting any glue to adhere to the handguard - any tips? I've wiped the handguard with alcohol but still nothing will stick to it...
  13. What about the black pauldron that seems to be an orange pauldron worn inside out?
  14. The thought of 23 deathtroopers seriously gives me nightmares - what has the 501st come to?
  15. Deathtroopers are only cool if you're fifteen or younger...
  16. Lolz! I edited it while you posted this haha!
  17. That's the one! Ah, and a perfect pic showing the reversed pauldron! Thanks bro
  18. Ok, so I was ill a couple of days ago with nothing to do, so i decided to scrutinize the Sandy scenes once more - this time going frame by frame on the blue ray edition. I am a dirty n00b, so these observations may be old news to all of you. Anyways here goes: First - am I wrong in saying that the black pauldron used by the trooper to the left of the high brow is just an orange one used inside out? If you look carefully at the very start of the "mind trick scene" you catch a glimpse of it looking orange on the under side aswell as a somewhat orange sheen/reflection on the armour underneath. Second - just before entering the docking bay you see the trooper with the T-21 from behind in a semi close up. You se the front half of the blaster and what looks like a blue wire or string in the area of the front sight. Am I just seeing things?
  19. Yay!! Congrats and good luck mate! Whenever the cost becomes scary just think about us nutters over at astromech.net spending 10k+ on our aluminium addiction
  20. Do it!! It's a perfect father/son project. With your fabrication skills it will be childsplay
  21. Sweet! I'm Norlemann123 over there If you plan to build your frame from styrene I'd ask around if the alu dome might be a bit heavy. I don't know, but I'd check if I was you. An alternative is wood frame/legs in kit form. Cheap and sturdy. See you over there When are you scheduled for your ATA kit? I get mine late november i hope.
  22. White plastic...styrene then I guess? If you're not allready on astromech.net now is the time Especially if you'd like a dome. The styrene dome run is closed, but there is both an alu dome run going and a new fiberglass dome run in the process. Should you choose the dark dark path of the aluminium build James (com8) just opened a new run of the com8a frame (the one I have). Welcome to the hobby mate - cool to have buds in both forums
  23. Music to my ears! I'm waiting for my ATA kit and am neither the tallest nor big headed. Can't wait to get it!!
