  1. Only things left on this kit are:

    - Making the canvas shoulder straps (lost the ones I got from Trooperbay a couple years back)

    - fixing/finishing the belt

    - painting the chin on the helmet

    - straps for the thighs/ redo the arm straps

    - WEATHER EVERYTHING.

Oh and the pack needs the mortar tube pipe, but a friend says he has it. The one I have is too short by about 6". That's how it arrived... :6:

  2. Brought them in roughly 2 1/2 inches. Wow, what a difference!

They're currently glued and clamped, and I'll get a pic up after they're done.

Here's a pic after I resized them (held with painter's tape at the new correct size)

  3. I would take it apart at the rear. Use some tape as a guide to make a straight vertical cut. Then match up the other half.

Make sure to keep the knee area narrower than the upper thigh to avoid the appearance of a bell. I hope this helps a little!

Thanks! I think that's what I'll do. Just cut the back apart and reattach.

I have a deadline of July 10th -- no later! Hopefully I can hammer it out.

  4. I have been trying to get an RT-Mod TK kit into a decent TD, but this part is bugging me:

You can see that my right thigh, at the knee, is about 1.5" wider than my actual leg. If I walk with them suspended it'll swing back and forth like a church bell.

How should I fix it? Rip apart both the front and back, cut and reattach?

If I were to rip apart just the back seam and resize it to fix my leg, would that look strange?

  5. It depends on who you ask

There are two Tupperware pitcher lids available. One is a little over 4" and the other is 5"

Some folks strongly believe the smaller lids were used on screen. Others think it was the larger lid.

I don't think we'll ever have the resolution in the screen captures to make a definitive measurement and declare which size was used. You could use the tube as a reference point, and declare it is a 2" diameter. However, that would be a 2" inner diameter. How thick was the wall of the tube? Is it 2 1/4" outside diameter, or 2 1/2" ?

Just like the number of licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop, the world may never know :geek:

Really don't mean to drag up an old thread, but I figure you'd like to see this:

I have a program I use at work to measure technical drawings. I can load images into it as well. What you do is calibrate the measuring tool by choosing two "known" points, then all measurements can be made at that same scale.

I loaded in the image of the backpack, and figured the radio dial face was 2" (based on the decal from Trooperbay).

Based on that, the radar dish/tupperware lid is 3 3/4". Safe to say the 4" lid is correct.
