  1. LOL! Awesome pic! (awesome blaster too!!!)
  2. Maybe one of those security droids could hover over your shoulder instead.
  3. Yeah, it's definitely that ammo pouch that's kinking up your pauldron. IMHO you should wait and attach the pouch to your pack strap. If you don't have a pack yet, you wouldn't need to wear the shoulder ammo pouch anyway. The Docking Bay 94 look is sans shoulder pouch.
  4. Looking good so far, Scott! I think you've got the brow right where you need it.
  5. Nice! I gotta get out to more anime cons!
  6. Nice pics! Looks like you guys had a great time.
  7. Coolness. Thanks for sharing your pics!
  8. Copy that Tom, do you have a site or something . It's on Amazon for a decent price. I had a link to it in my original post but when I was browsing this thread last night my post was empty. When I went to edit it, everything was there but it didn't show up in the thread. Weird. I removed the Amazon link and my post showed up again. You should also be able to get that mic from music stores but be careful because it comes in three versions with different connectors. You want the one with the 1/4" phone jack. Then it's pretty easy to adapt it down to 1/8" phone.
  9. The model number on my Shure is WH20QTR and you can get it for around $70. It has very good feedback rejection and can be removed from the headset mount easily. I velcroed mine directly into my bucket.
  10. Rolf, I have a Shure headset mic that works really well, but it wasn't cheap. I don't know the exact model number but it's a high-impedance mic with a 1/4" phone jack. I used an 1/4" to 1/8" adapter to make it work with my system. I don't have the ROM FX but I'm pretty certain this would work for it as well.
  11. Actually, as was mentioned above, the MR CE UK exclusive is going for $90 plus shipping from redfordfilms.com.
  12. This guy talks a good game but the proof is in the pudding. I'll remain a bit skeptical until we see the actual production pieces.
  13. Perhaps at 8:53 it says "Created by TD-5766 Todd Lacey" is a clue. Well you can certainly tell who watched the video all the way through and who cut out for a beer at, ohhh, 8:50 or so.
  14. Rolf's going to apply for his own squad designation in the 501st very soon!
  15. I used leather for my shoulder straps because I wanted them to be stiffer underneath my pack straps but I believe the general consensus is that they were probably canvas. It depends on what you'd like. You really can't see them with a pack and a pauldron on.
  16. Well, I'm here to tell you it's true, but only because I wear glasses. I own a TM and one of these MR CEs and I can't put either one on with my glasses on under it. FX, no problem, but nothing else that I've found. I usually troop blurry these days. Hey, maybe that's why I can't ever hit anything with my blaster!
  17. Word is that the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser (a melamime foam product also called basotect) works wonders with leather but I haven 't tried it yet. If you do give it a go, try it on an inconspicuous area first and start lightly. I've also had success using mild cleansers like Windex as long as the liquid is applied to the cloth and not the leather and it's never allowed to penetrate the leather. You may also want to use febreeze to help get rid of the odor. I did that on some bandoliers I bought for a Tusken costume and it made a big difference.
  18. Diana, that's not uncommon with military surplus, especially leather items. They're usually fairly easy to clean, though.
  19. Apparently you don't want to share the details, but whatever the problems were it's a real shame this won't go forward.
  20. Looking good. I'm certain you'll clear the 501st easily. Your armor looks great. You might wanna take a look at a lighter blue for your pack as others have mentioned. This is nitpicky, but I also noticed the dial on your radio box is painted 90 degrees off. It should look like an "X" shape with the white filling the top and bottom.
  21. Nice comparison pics, Rolf. Thanks for posting these!
