  3. I dont know about the kiwi dye if you get tan one they are the ones i got from them. they will dye nicely i would use a couple coats of the kiwi but with the semi-gloss latex ony tock one coat .
  4. ok ok ok ok I really think the tk's want to be pretty boys and have all the goods too havr that fresh out of the academy look being all FNG
  5. CJfive: well said trooper I see it the way you do. Over at the OLG we have a new trooper is a TK but likes the look of having a pauldron. I told him its ok to wear it Im no authority on the subjet of him having it he also carries a mg34, and he thought the TD's of our garrison would be mad with him but I said to him agian go for it. I also said to him he should look at the spec ops forum. But if he belongs here under HWT then he's a HWT not a TD . He in no way wants shoulder pouches or a backpack or any other stuff that makes us TD's I hope I didnt ruffel any of my bro's and sis of the MEPD It's just how I feel on this ...I say more the merryer I also said to him if i see a ad plate or anything that pertains to us oter than the pauldron and the bfg I will throw the biggest mud ball at him then run up with some type of spray to make it stay
  6. the same page has this listed. Their armor consists of an 18-piece anti-blaster cocoon shell with ''heat-reflective coating worn over a temperature-control body glove''. I think the quarter master forgot to give me mine I sweat like a pig
  7. When I posted this thread awhile back I didnt think it would be this huge debate. But its good to see all the diffrent views on this subject.
  8. Hey Bill, Could use the air line for a paintball gun I know they come in diffrent sizes just a idea.
  9. Look's great only thing I can think is Dr. Sholl's.
  10. I used Robs idea recently and it works well the paint stiffens up the pouches nicely I also put some marking stakes in them to hold shape as they dried I hope this helps
  11. has anyone notice the 2nd trooper has his dlt19 upside down
  12. One thing you might want to do is find a better ab plate and belt but for$200 it's not that bad also try to fab up a new knee plate other than that you look fine you should not have any problems getting your TD # from the legion. Go out have fun with your armor and worry about the details as you go. Troop on
  13. Hey Gang, I can vouch for this trooper. He's a great guy I'm gonna help with his pics soon since he live 5 mins from my house ... Its good to have bro so close Ben has been a great addition to MEPD family .
  14. I feel your pain bro. I too fell into the cushman trap. I made good wit what I had made and made many mods on it to make it look decent.
  15. Oops. Sorry. When I built my pack, I used an alvin ice tube for the large side tube. It came with rings very similar to the lewis rings, and I saved them for just such a possibility. Even if they're not exactly the right diameter, I think they could be modified. You could also use strips of sintra (PVC foam). You could heat up a strip in some hot water, curve it around the barrel and glue it in place pretty easily. Thats sounds great thanks.
  16. I'd think the cooling fins could be easily made out of some of the plastic that will be left after you're done trimming the pieces. I suppose it depends on whether the untrimmed parts come exactly as pictured, but it looks like there'd be plenty left. Oh I ment on the barrel itself They kinda look like o-ring or something but thats a good idea for the cooling fins
  17. Yeah I should have it in a couple weeks and I'll post pics and reports on this as I go. One quick question what would I use for the ribs on the barrel.
  18. Yeah I made that mistake of getting a cushman mg34 but i put some work into it to make look ok i get people asking me if it was a hyperfrim sometimes. Its flattering but its a cushmans.
  19. I had recieved the email from the gentelman who makes them. He did not know that there's a market for these outside of the the purpose he built the for. I told him who I was and what I wanted the kit for. He was blown away by all of us. So I'm gonna buy a kit as X-Mass present to myself I know it selfish but hey I do it every year. We'll see.
  20. You could ask Seth to snap a few pics for you. I've seen his over the weekend, and it looked great.
