  1. Rolf in a Siman suit? I think we have all just been topped forever
  2. Nice rig there Brother. Good luck on acceptance. I dont see much if any issue with the armor.
  3. Sounds good to me. I would just not rather die in my armor, or look like a death trooper!
  4. Yeah, i just need to do a last sharp edge sanding so i dont bleed out at the fair!
  5. Rolf, Thanks. I have been meaning to lop if off, but havent gotten to it! Next on the list i guess!
  6. Probably just going to have to live with them. The ATA ears seem (to me at least) to always have a gap in back if you dont have the face plate perfectly flat.
  7. Added some more weathering and i think its done now And yea, im going to add a bit of padding to the thigh.
  8. I practically have Mike on speed paypal these days haha
  9. I just built an ATA lid. Post some pictures and i will help however i can!
  10. Well after some re-working i finally have everything put together. Still need to add my lab pipe to the pack and sort out some other minor strap issues.
  11. The bond is strongest between the same material.
  12. Rather than use E6000 for the repair i would recommend using plastic weld with some ABS backing strips. There are 2 reasons for this. 1) The E6000 is flexible, and so any repaired areas it is used on will still be able to flex and crack further. Using fabric tape just makes this issue worse. 2) Plastic weld forms a much harder bond and will cause some bonding within the crack which will reduce stress along the crack's length, reducing the risk of further cracking.
  13. Personally, i find that humbrol enamels brush much better than Testors.
  14. If you cant find them locally you can order them from TK4510
  15. Burnt umber, raw sienna and neutral gray so far. Going to add some subtle black mixed with umber tonight.
  16. I use one of these bad boys. Helmet fits inside too if i pack it right http://www.containerstore.com/shop/garage/storageBagsBoxes?productId=10005098&green=26114552068
  17. Its great until you have to chop the armor down completely to keep it from being a trash can around your legs! I also find thigh garters that properly position the legs help a TON
  18. I just make my legs skinny enough they dont spin. But im tiny. Otherwise, i use foam in the arms
  19. I figured id make a separate thread for my weathering job. I had originally weathered way too much, so i took most of it off this evening. Here is how my armor is currently weathered. I still plan to do a newspaper rub over the top to give it some blackness. I may also do some slight dry brushing of gray in certain areas. Comments welcome! Especially for taking it SWAT. I am going to add weathering to the chest to emulate the troopers HERE
  20. well, you can get it apart, but you really are just cutting, and not prying.
  21. Any solvent that will attack ABS adhesive will also attack the ABS itself. I would try cracking it off with a thin blade VERY gently, or at least try to cut through it with an exacto knife.
  22. Helmet details (either Decal or painted) are slightly different on most TD's i believe.
  23. Here the first full up fit with weathering on. Still a few strapping issues to work out, and need to put on the spanish pouch. I still need to get the backpack straps put on and weather the pack so its not in the photos...and i still need to add my kidney plate brads...always more work. Im not 100% happy with the weathering at this point...it still seems a bit heavy. I will probably come and wipe about 20% off before im totally happy, especially on the chest and maybe abs...but i guess its easier to take it off than try and put more on. In particular i want to knock off some of the dark areas to make it more even. Enough words, PHOTOS! EDIT: I think i may end up either doing a black newspaper rub as a filter or do some light black dry brushing in certain areas to give it some black. Weathering comments welcome!
