Thanks Raven! I am about finished! Today I finished the backpack strapping and redid a few strapping parts on my armor to make it a bit more comfortable. All I have left is adding the side pipe to my pack. I am still thinking on how to do this lol. Probably with a long bolt/nut on top and then a few zip ties. Then all I have to do is remove the fan from my old FX helmet and place it in my CAP and I am ready to take pics for my 501st and MEPD approvals woohoo! Post some pics too?

Hiya trooper, I just converted my sparkly white FX tk to a nice and dirty TD as well and am almost finished. I have the MRce helmet but went with a CAP stunt helmet instead. I worked on my canvas pouch today. Relocated the small pouch, dyed and aged everything and it looks pretty sweet I think

Ohh thats right! The tape on the box! duh! thanks! I almost forgot lol. I will black out the screws and try to remove the nub on top of the canister. I kind of like the nub on the cistern though hehe. What is the best way to attach the side pipe? Screws? or rivets?

Thanks, they have 2 settings, blinking and regular and it looks pretty nifty hehe. If everything turns out well I might even have a first little troop in my sandy this Saturday. I am excited haha. It will be a good test run

Yeah I was so blown away by the art I forgot to mention my hobbies lol! I love photography, mainly nature and concerts. I get to shoot Disturbed quite a bit since I do some work for them occasionally: Some of my regular pics: I also do graphic design and designed several garrison logos, patches, and banners. I did some web graphics for Disturbed and still do a few things here and there for them free-lance. I recently designed an entire CD booklet for a band which was pretty awesome and I love to diddle around in photoshop. You can see some of my diddles on my DeviantART page. Next to this I collect action figures, play world of warcraft, build costumes, travel, shop, listen to music, hang out on costume forums, love to meet people with the same interests etc etc haha

okay good whew! I don't have a Spanish pouch but I bought a German pouch that "almost" looks identical. I can do a minor modification to it to make it look practically the same. The flap and stitching are identical.

I am a bit confused about the various pouches and deployment. My goal is to get deployed as Captain. When I look at the example photos here there are about 9 different combinations with different pouches. Canvas and leather MP40, Small Spanish and larger Spanish pouch. For Deployment do we need to have the pouches exactly as shown on the photos? or can we place them differently as long as they are the correct pouches? Say I have a canvas MP40 on my shoulder and a larger Spanish pouch on the hip. Would that be okay for deployment? instead of a small one? or would I need the 2 large leather MP40 ones or small Spanish one? as shown in the photos?

Get one of those small cheap white trash cans, or a for sale sign and do a few practice runs on those? That way you don't mess up your armor On my clone armor I just diluted black acrylic paint with windex in a spray bottle and sprayed my armor with it, waited a few minutes till it got a little tacky and then with a moist..not wet rag I removed the excess again. That way you get that nice used dirty look. On my sandy that I am working on I sort of did the same but with diluted Tan. I then brushed undiluted grey acrylic on top as my main weathering. yay fun!! it is the most satisfying thing in the world to work on your suit and see it all come together. Including the dremel burns, ABS scrapes and cuts, and pre-fitting pinch bruises haha. Post lots of pics!

Thanks everyone! If it wasn't for you guys posting all your progress builds and tutorials and tips I wouldn't be able to pull it off this easy haha I started putting together the back pack over the last few days after a lot of intense reading here on the forums and it is coming together nicely! Awesome Backpack kit from Dirty boy I did something fun with the radio cover and added purple blinking led lights in the circular holes. I will try and post pics or a video of that later. I have to mod it now so I can put it in the radio box with the on off switch so I can easily turn it on and off. I just thought it looked cool lol. Anyway..back pack is almost done yay!! I am modding my thighs still since I can't seem to find a size that fits me without shims except the AM ones and AM doesn't sell them separate *cries* so, I redid the ugly shims I had in my FX thighs and made them look a bit more decent. Pics to come..
