  3. Jason Brain.. PLEASE contact me ASAP regarding the AB plates. I need some information to pass along to the TD's that purchased them!!! PLEASE GET AHOLD OF ME!!!! Write me at tk5374@comcast.net ASAP!!!
  4. Great to have you as a member of the DIRTY family!
  5. hey all.. If you are wanting the patches you need to write me off threads at tk5374@comcast.net. As for getting your MEPD DEPLOYED memberships, you will need to send the info to Joey Beck (Bama Trooper) and your pics to Josh Larsen for processing.
  6. The "RULE" is that they (the BFG) needs to be based upon, and at least somewhat resemble the Heavies carried by the TD's in ANH.. This can include either -34, -15,or -21's. They can be either fan made props or can be bought by the member at a prop shop. I DO ask that if you are buying one, please look to OUR fellow MEPD members FIRST... If you dont like what they have, or the prices, then by all means DO go somewhere else, but PLEASE look to our OWN first!!
  7. Mathew... Welcome to the land of the dirty men!! I do have patches to trade or sale . Just write me at tk5374@comcast.net and Ill hook you up! Feel free to contact me anytime about anything that might be sandtrooper related! You will find that this group is about the best around... By far the most "professional"! Again welcome to the land of sand... and write me on the patches!

    4th of July

Our Garrison really doesnt do much for the 4th here.... It actually works out well for me though.. The 4th of July is my Birthday, so Im usually tied up doing family things anyway.. It is much better now for me!! For 10 years, I was a Sheriffs Deputy and was on the Dept.'s Honor Guard. So I was getting stuck marching in the parades on the Honor Guard, then pulling my normal shift. But I would LOVE to hear about all the parades our dirty family is participating in!
  11. Nope.. IF you can make one that is screen accurate, GO FOR IT!!! The only thing I ask as the DL is that you make sure that it IS screen accurate! I sure dont mind peeps doing their own, and saving the money! Saying this, as everyone reads it, PLEASE PLEASE, if you make one, and it DOESNT come out good, please DONT wear it! Ask a fellow Sandie for their "input" on any that you make. If they say it looks like dog feces then find a supplier and buy one! Otherwise, form it up, make it, glue it up, and troop on!!!
  12. You can use the regular AB plate that came with your TK armor... You can use it by pulling the buttons and filling the holes.. The problem is that it is NOT accurate! Take a look at the reference pics, and you will see what I mean..... There isnt the "bumps and ridges" on the TD plate like there is on the TK plate. Hence why we are ordering the ABplates... At some point, once we get either more suppliers or a supplier that makes them on a more "regular" basis, they WILL become a necessary mod to be a DEPLOYED trooper. But for now, they are still optional. If you have all your other mods, you can be DEPLOYED and then gradnfathered in on the abplate.. So get the mods done NOW!!!

Josh, you gotta write me and let me know where you got these things stored at! LOL
  14. There are many guys who do the handguards.... Im not sure who is doing a current run on them right now.... You might want to place a seperate thread on this area of the site and see who is doing a run of them....
  15. Very cool!! You guys look like you had a BLAST!!
  16. Wooooot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Way to go Josh!!!!
  17. I would LOVE to!! But alas... I am NOT going to be able too... I have a business trip the week BEFORE, with me gettin back home the day that it STARTS! But I AM looking forward to seeing you all at SWC3!!! I, personally, went ahead and made reservations at the Embassy Suites... I know, I know, I could have found one a LITTLE bit closer and cheaper, BUT I am weird about it.. If Im going to stay someplace OTHER than my house, I want it to be much NICER than my house! (Ok NOT a stretch for ANYPLACE to be nicer than MY home! LOL).. So if you guys want to make reservations there also, ask them for a room next to mine!!!!!!!!
  18. We DO have a few guys who are working on tutorials as we speak!! Hopefully we will have new, updated ones available soon... There ARE "older" ones (tutorials) out there.. problem with them is that some (not ALL) are dealing with "older" paints and dont have all the new types of paints and so on out there listed. Keep posted! If someone doesnt have a new tutorial by the end of the month, I will go ahead and wash MY armor clean and "redo" it.. And Ill do a tutorial then...
  19. Make sure you use a rough rag with the paint.. I used one rag to actuallyu put the paint ON... patting it on so that it "pulled" and gave it texture.. then I used the other rag and went through cleaning off the excess, and "roughing it up" a little more.. Make sure you use at LEAST 3 different shades of tan/brown.. Once color gives it a "blah" color scheme.. Also, alternate the colors. Use one color as your first in one area, then use a darker shade as your first color in the area next to it.. It shades in well that way, gives it depth and adds to the worn and weathered look.
  20. Guys... GET SOME PICS!!!!!!!!! Also, Bama or anyone else that is there... PLEASE give Prowse a MEPD patch.. then let me know who gave it to him, and I will replace it...
  21. dang.. well Bama.. so mmuch for that Orange Pauldron!! hehehehhheh Jusst Kidddddin!!
  22. Just to let everyone know.... We are making a few more changes Command wise to get things running more smoothly and to assist more people in getting their mods completed. At this time, I am happy to announce 3 "promotions". Kevin O'Conner is going to be taking the helm of the Sandtrooper.net site as lead moderator, and as Detachment XO. He will be doing the day to day for the forum. Joey (Bama) Beck is taking the position of 3rd in command (Chief of Staff/Detachment Captian of the Guard) position. He will be running the MEPD.net site and will be the one who checks peoples modifications to make sure they hit the MEPD criteria for a DEPLOYED TROOPER. Last "promotion" is Mark Corey. He is now going to be running his geographical area as a Regional Coordinator. He will be "floating" between the sites to assist where needed. Ernie Katler, and Harry Sobering are posted to assist with the Sandtrooper.net site, while George "Old Sarge" Metx will assist Joey with the MEPD.net site. Me, Im going to be back and forth on ALL of it, sticking my nose over their shoulders! LOL The Webteam remains the finest in ALL the LEGION, Chris Romines who will continue to oversee the MEPD and Sandtrooper sites and Josh Larsen who will be the person who will be photoshopin' your pics for the sites.. I will have an "application form" soon for all those ready to go to DEPLOYED status. This will be a base "TD#, Name, Location, Type of weapons, mods in place" thing. Hopefully I will have that done by friday. It is just something to go next to your pic so peeps know who they are looking at! Joe Musso Detachment Leader MEPD
  23. That pack looks friggin AWESOME!!! Could you please post the link for the tutorial for everyone to see? With the owners permission of course !
  24. Hey all!! As you know the site is up and running.. There are still occasional bugs that pop up, but our webteam is the BEST and they are getting them all hammered out as fast as they pop up! As you know, we now have a photo gallery up and running! PLEASE feel free to post any and all MEPD and related pics that you want! Please though keep it at LEAST PG-13 rated as we DO have young eyes that might wander in from time to time. As for groupings, as you can see when you visit the photo area, there are a few "main" areas. One is for reference photos, which is self explanitory, the other is for individual pics. Please post your pics of you in armor there!! We also will be using those pics as our "reference" to make sure the criteria is met with your armor to be a DEPLPYED MEPD TROOPER (with all mods in place). Additionally, you will find an area for Events. This is the area where we want you to post pics of yourself with other MEPD mebers during your troops. We are doing it this way to prevent having the SAME picture in multiple individual albums. Please make sure that you designate the pics though with the TD numbers of those in the picture, also you may designate what Garrison you are from/or what event you are at if you wish to. Again, GROUPS of MEPD members in a pic, PLEASE post them to EVENTS to prevent having the same pic in multiple albums so that we can conserve space and prevent the old "I already SEEN that picture dangit!" remarks
