  1. Wow...that is a cool video if they would get rid of some of the FX buckets it would be even better . Definitely like the sound of that T-21 on there it ROCKS! I thought Boba Fett was with us, guess he just sells out to the highest bidder. I wish I could take a knee like that in my armor..I've seen how much of the white armor that normally has to be cut off in order to achieve this and it leaves too much black showing for my preference...maybe there is another way.
  2. Hey Thanks Gordon! Now if we can just get this patch thing figured out we will be in business
  3. Hey Mike, Thanks Brotha! Glad to be amongst the ranks of the Deployed! Auf weider zen!
  4. That is the seller but not the speaker system I used. Type this in on ebay Mini Portable Stereo USB Speaker for PC/ iPhone MP3 MP4 Right now nothing is showing up. After you enter this and hit search go over to the left side of the page under SHOW ONLY and click COMPLETED and do another search. You will see that the system I used ended on 29 Jan. I would simply email the seller thru ebay and ask if he will be carrying more...good luck
  5. I've actually got 4 different ones. Two are sandtrooper loops, found 1 on the 501st site, it is a little over 15 minutes long. The other I found on the MEPD forum and is 11.30 long. Both very similar but the second has more of the pack cooling system sounds along with that cool Imperial probe droid sound from the ESB. I line those up back to back so that this plays them one after the other giving me 26.30 of sandtrooper loop. I guess I could go into I tunes and do all that but I'm not into Itunes, lol, don't even have an account :o The little memory card I use is 1g so it will hold more than I will ever need. The other two I have on there are the Imperial March and one I found called Imperial Attack...pretty cool. I figure 90% of the time I will want the loop playing and maybe if we make some grand appearance or walk in will I use the march, which I will just pull the remote out and switch it over for that. What kind of speaker system do you have in your radio box?
  6. UPDATE: Just did my first troop with this setup and wanted to offer some feedback. Unit worked as predicted but was a bit hard to hear due to the crowd of nearly 200 people in the lobby. I think it would be better if the speakers were maybe 5watt but overall it worked like it was suppose to. I even installed the second speaker just so that I would have maximum sound. I found it easier to just have my wife open the radio box and turn the unit off and on in order to keep playing the sandtrooper loop. A better option will be to load that loop 4x in a row on the memory card and that will have it playing for at least 45 minutes with no worries. Would only need to use the remote should I need a different track. Bottom line, I think it was definitely worth the 17.55 and would do it again.
  7. Great job, welcome aboard. These guys know their stuff and will have you deployed in no time!
  8. Yeah,,, isn't that the Truth <_<
  9. Sorry to report I'm not much into Pro football and didn't even know who was going to the Superbowl till a few says ago . Guess college football is more for me.
  10. OUTSTANDING!!!! From the moment I joined this forum I knew I wanted my armor to be to the level that the deployed guys were at. Why, because I knew you guys had the most accurate screen armor and carried this above and beyond what the average sandtrooper probably does. Kinda like any SF group in the military... they don't just meet the standards they go above and beyond the standards. VERY PROUD DAY FOR ME. Sorry for all the late replies, it's been drill weekend with the Air Guard. I want to thank everyone on this forum for being so patient and friendly to a new guy. This quest for me basically started Nov last year when I started asking a few questions and a week later I had armor at my home ready to begin. Two guys from my local garrison stepped up and helped me build my armor but the MEPD is what made that a sandtrooper . There are a few in particular on here (will not call any names) that have gone the extra mile to help me with this and I truly THANK YOU.... you know who you are! I look forward to being a part of the team, sharing ideas in ways that will benefit us all and help take this to the next level. THANK YOU GUYS!
  11. Seriously ? I thought all you needed to see where the three things that were the no go areas?
  12. Thanks Rick, not a bad first night, caught my first droid and got my photo with the boss.
  13. Ok, lets try this again from the top. TD-4451 Requesting Deployment take 2, annnnnnd ACTION! Hand guards in PROPER position...always a good thing. I'm actually giving a thumbs up with my right thumb but the mic kinda drowned it out Patch removed....I still think it's cool but I understand not allowed for deployment. Chest and back cut as well as all 4 corners of the belt, hard to see belt but if you look closely you can see the lower corner...thanks for these tips Terry. I finally found one of those droids :o Me and the Boss Hope this is what it takes.
  14. Hey Guys, I REALLY appreciate all your positive attitudes and comments. I just returned home from my first troop tonight and what a BLAST I had. I had so many folks wanting photos over most of the TK guys it was awesome. They simply love the pack and the weapon, even wanted to know why I was so dirty, lol. I'm still pretty wound up so I will try to get those photos posted on here within the next hour. Yes, definitely hoping to be the first Deployed trooper of 2011. Will see.
  15. Promise. Please send me the link when you do.
  16. How much do I need to take off the 4 belt corners...1/2"...less?
  17. Love it....yeah that's my excuse too, I'm so use to looking in the mirror. You almost have this sound of a plea in your voice as if to say... you don't understand, you can't let this get out cause I'm their leader Thanks for sending!
  18. Lol, that would probably work. The great thing to me about the fullers earth is that it looks and feels just like sand once applied. I sprayed hairspray to the armor I was about to work on first and then lightly tap a small paint brush with the FE from above so that it sprinkled onto the armor. There is a good video in the weathering section of a guy doing this in his back yard. Let it dry 20 or 30 minutes and then I would push and rub some of the excess up into the corners trying to give it more of a built up look. I hear FE comes off easily if caught in the rain so once I'm 100% happy with my weathering I'm going to come back and clear coat this in a matte finish. Is the look at this guy really a friend of yours? I think I read that didn't I?
  19. Hey Pat, Did you say..."Well would you just look at that, Just LOOK AT IT? , great video btw. I used a small amount of the burnt umber (acrylic) in the seams and recessed area. The rest, 85% is fullers earth. I can't believe how clean this looks in photos, I was worried the entire time that I had used too much and now I'm thinking I look almost a bit too clean...go figure. You can see on the close up helmet photos that it is heavier than what it appears. It's all a learning experience for me...good thing about the weathering is I can always add more if I feel led or take it all off and do again
  20. Definitely doesn't pay to do this in a hurry and rush through this as I did today, missing some pretty simple and basic things here. Did not know about the 45 degree trim on the belt corners, thanks for the photo. Would you say this is about a 1/2" trim? Yes, butt plate and kidney are two separate pieces, I have industrial strength velcro holding the two together. So by trimming the front chest and rear back is the goal to create an open gap between the two pieces? Thanks for the tips.
  21. I definitely should have caught the strap :o. My first troop is tomorrow night so I will work on getting photos of those two areas.
