  1. OK. I am painting my AP. Its a nightmare. I bought the Rustoleum professional high performance enamel sku number 7592. its been crap the entire time I have used it. I have seen it recommended here several times though. The problem I am having is this. If I just paint the part without sanding then the paint looks great. Well it looks pretty good anyway. If I sand the part, which I have needed to do during assembly, that causes orange peel and deep scratch marks or crinkle where the sanding was. I had to sand alot of my armor all over the place. So now just about every part looks like crap. I have resanded and tried another coat. Sometimes it looks better. Sometimes it looks worse! The second coat of paint 24 hrs later caused a crinkle effect and looks very bad. I admit that I didnt use primer on almost every part. BUT, I did use primer on the chest and it looks pretty bad too. As I recall I used primer on my TE helmet and I had to repaint it a few times too. So I am not sure that my problem is caused by not primering. When I can get this paint to go on right it looks great. BUT for the most part it looks terrible. I have painted many things with spray paint in the past, but I have never seen a paint act like this. Does this paint just suck? Has anyone else had a problem with this paint? It isnt even recommended for plastic, but everyone seems to be using it. Maybe its something I am not doing right. Can anyone give me advice here? Does anyone know what I may be doing wrong? PLEASE HELP. MY ARMOR LOOKS LIKE SHITE! I also should add that this armor is for the rose parade (hopefully) and will not be dirty....
  2. Wow, I didnt know that it varied. Thanks! Has anyone else used these measurements?
  3. I didnt use a flash. The lenses will be replaced, but for now they are cheap and thin acetate.
  4. Has anyone ever tried ABS pipe glue? On ABS armor it welds together in a few minutes. Just dont use too much....
  5. I am cutting my strips soon. I was wondering if I need to cut them to 3/4 inches wide or 7/8 inches wide. I have heard both now... I am not really sure what size to cut them. Does anyone know? The strips I am referring to are the ones on the back and front of the thighs and forearms and biceps and calves....
  6. Its nice!!! Thanks so much! I have something special on the way for you as well.
  7. Can someone post pics of the correct way to trim all the parts of the AP? And how they did the assembly? I am starting to trim my set down and notice that it doesnt fit together very well, especially the forearms! Thanks in advance for any help

Could it be from another SW film?

    lucas molds!

It DOES look very old. It could possibly be an authorized recast to make the numbers of troopers needed. If this guy is legit he needs to come up with some evidence and a COA from the person who can prove it. Otherwise its terrible quality. I am certain that its not original molds, thats for sure! I think we need to compare the TE2 molds to these and see whats up! Guns??
  10. Thanks! The gas range offered a nice black background. Its good for heating plastic too
  11. It is done! What do you guys think? Should I have used stickers? I am going for a clean stunt look.
  12. Nice tight pull there! superb detail!
  13. Another MEPD TD was asking me if I thought the AP would fit a person 6 ft tall. You seem about his height. Did you have to shim your armor at all?
  14. Painted the gray tonight. I used the Humbrol Gray.
  15. I primered mine, so I am hoping that it wont chip.
  16. Ok, Here are some shots from this weekend and last night. I need to paint the gray parts now {SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif
  17. Ok guys the painting is going well....What colr of gray do I use for the trapezoids and tears? I have Humbrol gray 5 serial #A0059 or Testors gray 1138...... This thing is really coming along nicely. I put 6 coats of white on it.
  18. Thats cool. Is that the green acetate or dark green acetate? Thanks for posting pics
  19. Is that pretty dark? The acetate that came with my helmet was pretty transparent. Do you have ant photo's with you wearing the helmet with the lense material you bought in it?
  20. I went down to Home Depot and picked up the Rustoleum Pro gloss white Sku#7592. That'll work! I will do all the filling and painting this weekend. Pics will follow!
  21. Not sure....But the thing will be fragile at only .060 thickness. Thats accurate thickness too.
  22. I think I will use the Rustoleum pro gloss white #7592. Is that a cool color for Standard TK? Will it somewhat match ABS?
  23. SWEEEEEEET!!!!! I love you man!!! PM on the way!!!!!! Coolio!!!!!
