We'll be done with the scopes shortly. We have to find the best way to mount them to the MG-15. The problem is accuracy vs. functional. Rubber is forgiving for certain things but not for others. The long scope, the No. 32, is a problem to mount. It only has a very thin hole and post that holds it in place. How do you make that sturdy? I could cast these in resin but that's not what we do. Resin would just break as well. I think we will end up making a metal bracket to hold the rubber scope. I'll show you more when Lewis, Art and I get into the conversation of the scopes more.

Yeah. I shouldn't be buying these from him either but since I did the autocad work I have to. LOL. It's a moral imperative. Lee is a good dude. He's working on his TD so he can join the 501st. You'll see an accurate pauldron coming from Lee soon too. Should be a really good thread. Art has agreed to help on that one as well. Art is a really good dude if you guys don't know him. That's a really down to earth guy. Looking forward to seeing him and his woman at Comic Con '09.

That's great you guys. Please pm me your addresses so he can calculate shipping. If you need these fairly quickly, please ask for a faster shipping process than USPS. Ask for insurance as well if you'd like tracking and insurance etc.

Okay. The first post has been changed to a run list. I talked with Lee tonight. After he made both pouches for the set. He doesn't think he can do them for less than $145 per set of two pouches. There is too much work involved. After switching to the manual rivets and hand dying to get the proper dark brown/black look, it just adds too much to make them for less. For this first run, he will be doing 10 sets of pouches only. The final asking price will be $145 +shipping. He will need payment to do the run to order the leather, solid brass posts and rivets. Payment will be due by Tuesday Dec. 23rd in order to have the run complete by New Year.

Sorry we didn't get the "last" prototype done tonight. I got tied up with a bunch of BS work stuff!!! Work always getting in the way....jeez.

Oh man.... I guess I'll have to go for deployment. I haven't tried to do that yet. I just looked at the deployed page.

Yeah. There's actually another frame somewhere that shows the entire snap. Regardless, we used autocad to determine the position of the snap, the size of the snap and the rivets as well as the position of the rivets. At this point, these pouches will be as exact as we can make them.

Thanks guys. We are still in progress on the scopes. We are working with Braksbuddy to get proper scope mounts made. Not quite sure how we are going to approach this yet.

Sorry about the dark pictures. My home camera is not as wonderful as my work camera. This MG-15 is owed to Marcelo 1389 since this is originally his baby. He was kind enough to allow us to mold his MG. We lasered his TD ID into the top of the drum mag. Also, another special thanks to BraksBuddy for loaning us his scope. Very kind of him to do.

Okay. Well....I all for making it easier for you guys to mount these things. The upper pouch will need diagonal straps for you to mount it properly. I didn't use strap on mine, I actually used snaps to mount it to the armor. The belt pouch is no problem and obvious.

Well, I think after these next couple changes, we will be pretty much there. Seriously, Art has been super through this whole thing. I've talked to that guy on the phone more than I've talked to my family. He has a great eye for this sort of thing and it was actually a fun project. I like doing stuff like this.

BTW. This pouch was dyed a super dark brown... It looks mostly black but in the right light, it appears to have a slight brownish tint to it.

This is the pouch as it stands right now on prototype #5. The forming blocks are still inside so it is a little nicer than it should be.
In this view, you can see the small raw leather tab on the side that we think had a purpose at one point.
Here is the back of the pouch as we think it should be. Notice the strap and the rivets. We've spaced the rivets as they are in the movie. The rivets will be black on the final pouches.
This is the strap as it has been turned around 180 degrees. We have put the snap on the strap yet but we think this may be what it's original intent was.
Changes for Prototype #6:
1. The shape of the flaps will be slightly more dulled and rounded.
2. The flaps will be 1/4" shorter per autocad.
3. The bottoms of the pockets will be a tad sloppier
4. Post holes to be corrected.
5 Thinner leather overall except for the back plate
Movie Accurate Radio for the Pack....

Okay. Art, Lewis and I have been talking about the radio on the backpacks. They obviously used a real radio from somewhere. I'm just going to throw this out there....
IF SOMEONE WILL FIND OUT WHAT RADIO THAT IS ON THE BACKPACK, I WILL GIVE THEM $1500 WORTH OF SCI-FIRE STUFF IN RETURN!!! PLEASE DEAR GOD SOMEONE FIND THE FRIGGIN' RADIO SO I CAN REST AT NIGHT.
Ahem. Okay then. The radio thing really, really bugs me. Some one has this radio in their garage or attic or something. It's not like they go through the trouble to make a limited run of 100 back in the 70's. There were at least thousands of these made....Where the **** are they?
I'm interested to see what you guys have discovered about this radio. I know I'm not the only freak who is working on this. Art is, I'm sure, sleeping and dreaming about radio boxes floating through the clouds. Slavefive is like, "Dude. Just make one. You can make one that is just as good." I can make one and I will but can't someone just find me one to mold? LOL.
What do you guys think? How big is this radio box?
