  1. I have the Norwegian made versions of those, BUT a matched pair comes as one 3-pocket and one 3-1/2 pocket pouch. The 3 1/2-pocket gets worn on your left shoulder, and the 3-pocket pouch gets worn on yur right hip on the waist line belt. The small 1/2-pocket was for some sort of cleaning kit I believe. Over the course of their production, changes were made to facilitate easier production, so I believe the additional security straps on the flaps were eventually omitted. The ones you have pictured are HORRIBLE!! You should buy them, then afterwards send them to me!
  2. Since I scored a white one for $20 shipped, I plan to get one of those Orange to Black reversible pauldrons Jim mentioned. I have seen hi-res. pictures of them and they look pretty danged terrific! This way I can have any "screen used" color that may be needed for any particular event.
  3. I got the same deal as Jim, my 3 1/2-pocket pouch was broke in nicely while the 3-pocket pouch was like new outta the crate still textured and GREEN. I used Kiwi leather dye on the 3 1/2-pocket pouch, it looks FABULOUS, but I'm still debating on putting in wooden blocks and taking a hammer to the "pebble grain" texture and pound some if it out on the 3-pocket pouch. I just searched online & found a Tandy Leather Store that's pretty local to me, so I'll get some of that "Fiebings Deglazer 4 oz. #2105-01" and save the $8 S&H since a bottle of the stuff only cost $4.99! Thanks for that tip Jim!
  4. Well lookie there!! My buddy FINALLY jumped into the sandbox forums! Good to see ya!! BTW, he has some good Sci-Fi / SW info forums on his web site too, go put in your 10 cents and help get them rollin'!!
  5. I have an AWESOME TD rig, (just look at my avatar) the ONLY thing I'm lacking for MEPD deployment is the BFG. Sure I could go out to my workshop and hack one together in a single evening from ABS pipes, reducer couplings, and a toy blaster section, then get my picture taken for proof and request deployment the next day, but I'm not going to do that. I'm taking my time scratch building my BFG so it looks RIGHT, but that's for the personal challenge. I'm also shopping around to find a reasonably priced, light weight, ACCURATE kit for actual trooping. I want MEPD deployment just a much now as I when I wanted 501st membership when I was building my TK rig a couple months ago. It nevered occurred to me to propose dropping the BFG requirement, or ANY of the other requirements for that matter! Since I recently learned of non-ribbed shoulder straps being canon, I'm looking into replacing them with smooth ones eventually, just in case it gets voted in at a later time! If it's ever put up to a vote, I'm voting the BFG requirement STAYS!
  6. Just make SURE they have you down for the hernia surgery and not a sex-change operation! Hang in there, good luck!
  7. I think that is one SMART kit! I love the fact you can break it down for transporting inside one's crate! I'm DEFINATELY IN for one of these babies, as you can see me in my avatar that I'm only lacking a BFG for MEPD deployment!! I have C.I.F. (Cash In Fist)
  8. I found this site more or less by accident, saw all the Sandtrooper goodness and DAM !! Got medieval on the armor and whipped out the dirt and armor mods POST HASTE!
  9. requesting access please .... FYI- gathering materials for my BFG.. the final thing for MEPD deployment!
  10. EEUUUWWWW..... man you go to some wild partys Matt! LMAO!
  11. Thanks Matt, I KNEW it couldn't just be a floater!
  12. Naw, forget smack... METH is where it's at now!! You get emaciated AND you loose your teeth in no time! Just think of all the money you'll save not having to go to the dentist! Crimeny Mel, Big E mentioned you worked out, but you're built like an African low-land gorilla aren't ya? Ok, back on topic!!
  13. You sure got some shiny arms there TK BOY!! WHERES THE DIRT?!
  14. Well, unless they were using some skinny heroin addicts with chests the size of 10yr. old boys in the movie for the stormtrooper actors, I don't see how the "protrusions" from the front & back plates could meet up as the above pictures seem to indicate (thanks RoCKo!) BTW, help an IGNANT brother out and tell me what the **** "afaik" means?
  15. Eh... I've seen better JUST KIDDING!!! Ditto to all the above!
  16. OK, so let me get this straight... there is NO strap at all, or is it just a flat piece non-ribbed strap instead of the ribbed strap? It looks like to me, that there is a flat, non-ribbed strap going over the shoulder in the reference picture. When all else fails....
  17. Hi Rob, Thanks for the feedback! Yes, I used 1/2" CPVC the yellow-gold stuff used for domestic water lines in construction. I think it scales out better than the slightly larger white 1/2" PVC pipe and fittings you get in the sprinkler section of Home Depot. The thing is pretty light too, I trooped for 6+ hours straight and never noticed it to be honest.
  18. I predict LOTS of poop, burp-up spew, dirty hand/feet prints on the WALLS, and messy bedrooms in your future!! It's all worth it! CONGRATULATIONS!!
  19. Hey that looks like a great weathering job! Is it me or are your thigh plates slipping down?
  20. I opted for acrylics in four different colors, as it takes SOME effort to wipe it off, yet you have the OPTION to take it all off and make another pattern when you get bored with it. You can find a plethora of small bottles in various colors at the WalMart crafts section for under a dollar each.
  21. Looks like you got some in your ear!! LOL.... Just Kidding!! Dude, thats a nice job!
