  6. I really don't want to drill, as I don't feel very comfortable doing that and then messing up my only suit of armor. Could it be feasible to either hot-glue or even super glue them where you want the snaps?

  12. I've always been a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. Such as finding this site and the useful information that I've found. Now, it seems that I have found someone that also has a love of Star Wars, and has an almost complete set of FX storm trooper armor that he may be ***Crossing fingers *** willing to sell me at a somewhat discounted price. Included will be the black body suit, and gloves. The only things I may have to buy: boots, voice amp, and the blaster/or BFG. So, keep your fingers crossed for me as I will have a chance to look at it next week- He had it for three years, and said it needed some minor work- such as some of the velcro is messed up. He said he could take care of it and may even just take the velcro out and put in snaps. One small step for me.... One large step for the Empire.
  13. What I am thankful for. Family and Friends (new and old) Without either can be a lonely existence. I am thankful that I have a job, a bed to sleep in and a roof over my head. I am very blessed that I have lived a good life.
  14. So for a new guy, the best way to start is with the FX armor then go with straps, velcro and snaps. Unfortunately, where i live- (Arkansas) there's not 2 many troopers where I can get a more personal perspective. Forgive me if I seem full of questions, as I am weighing my options here and not wanting to rush things. But is there a way you can get pre-made armor custom fitted? And how much would it run, ball park figure?
  15. 6'3" here.... I was wondering about the height question.
  16. snaps was my next question. Thanks for the in-put. I am sure I will be on the right track with a little mixture of all the above? The more I read about MEPD, the more I am interested. As I mentioned in my introduction- time isn't that much of a problem, but the money is somewhat tight right now. I know I shouldn't rush things and be impatient (I do wish I had known about this a few years ago!)- Any advice or words of wisdom?? ....other than start saving now??? LOL
  17. Bolts or super duty velcro?
  18. the new guy here is 37, will be 38 in February.
  19. Greetings all. I am somewhat gree when it comes to this, so I hope that it won't take me long to get into the groove of things and get "my feet dirty". First off, I want to say... Wow! Great and very informative site. Unlike some trooper based "Forums" there is at least activity and all round great ideas. Second, being new to this, I hope to learn what I can so I can get out there and start trooping. Being based in Arkansas, the garrison I want to join would be the Star Garrison. But, the #1 thing I need (of course) is to get off my lazy butt and start getting me some armor. It might take a while, as time and $$ is a bit tight this time of year. I have many questions, and will look around to see if mine have already been asked.... hope ya'll have patience for a newbie. Looking forward to meeting everyone and learning.
