  2. i have a bit more of a sandblasted and worn approach to my electrobinocs. no mustard. pics online at http://photos.yahoo.com/razorcityphilly enjoy
  3. sorry about the leaving and the being gone and all... i lost my job and had to get a new one.. so im back now.. just more busy. Im sorry about the list thing i was putting it together when all this happened. ill get that done and get a parts list available if i can find it again.. otherwise i guess ill have to build another one and do it that way!
  4. the black pauldron is ok but the gray works well too.. i havent tried orange yet. the black armor almost needs some other color to set it off so you can see detail. otherwise you look like a black blob in photos.
  5. that was my idea as well... a dirty black trooper. ill post pics when i wear it next.
  6. since my links died on the pack photos, i have put the photos on my yahoo photos site.. feel free to browse! http://photos.yahoo.com/razorcityphilly there are also pics of my armor and my BFG in construction and my binocs.. etc..
  7. pack is light. vert light. maybe 3-5 pounds? I wore it the first time trooping this last weekend in a parade and around the fairgrounds. Didnt feel a thing.
  8. the guts died.. so i used everything i could and scrapped the rest
  9. Yeah! and wait until i unveil my Dirty TX trooper! IN BLACK! thats my contribution to the Sandy Empire!
  10. oh! and there is a dead power supply from my computer in there too.. under the dish. just to add to the confusion.
  11. ok i didnt use my badge number or anything. i wanted my wife to be involved with me so i picked her favorite number and mine.
  12. Ok here are the not-so-rightly-named parts for my pack. i used 4 science tubs for the base. these are school used experiment tubs or photo developing trays. i used an assortment of desk trays for the radios and sat-kit box. the large upper left part.. is an art tray for paint and brushes. the Satelite dish is a kids top game base. the silver antenna on top is a dish washer air gap there are some misc. variety of hoses.. a knife tray on the left lower side hooked to a silver hose. a soap dish used as an antenna on the lower box a water bottle and bowl a scratchbuilt keypad made of vinyl bumpers and paint various bumpers for buttons.. the radio has 2 variable dimmer switch knobs. the three LEDs are in fact dimmer switch adapters painted to look like LEDs the longer knobs are electrical twist connectors i put my thermal detonator on the top right. there are some smaller packaging details.. and just plain extras to add dimention. i got part numbers for most.. but not here. i can get them if u need.
  13. Ill have to put together the parts list. Im out of town for the week so ill do that when i return.
  14. Hey all.. here are some pics of my 95% completed SAT/COM pack. love to hear good and bad.

  16. sounds good Joe! You are working tooo hard. Erik tk2427
  17. wow i cant type sometimes can i?
  18. looks great from what i can see! weathering looks great. love to see it against a more neutral background.. the detail would pop out. Ill post my new pack when i get it finished. ran into a snag. erik tk2427
  19. if ur that hot outsied i dont think wet armor will matter too much.. I have made my backplate into a pocket so i can insert an ice pack or 2. It works great and stays cool for a while. plus being on your back really cools off the rest of you nicely. I can also wear a 30oz camelback under it if i dont want ice.. and i can fil the camel with ice too so.. theres my 2 cents.
  20. My pack is definitely NOT screen accurate, but i think its pretty cool, and adds some variety to the whole idea. I went with the SAT/COM idea.. figure there has to be some sandie that holds communication with the rest of the empire.. lol. I have ripped my original pack apart to make some special modifications, so pics are coming slowly.. but they will get here.
  21. I have the new pack nearly complete. Should be complete this weekend. I will post photos of my modular pack.. yes modular. You can take the top and bottom segments off to replace with a different ones. The main pack i have done is a Sat/Com pack. I really like it so far. Will post photos when its completed. Erik TK2427
  22. Ok heres my big question.. It seems that there are relatively similar, however not all definite concrete designs and assembly in the backpacks i have seen built. In other words you cant put 2 packs side by side and say they are both the same for the most part. so.. Is the backpack needed for a sandy to conform to some strict standard, or can relatively any pack design work for a sandy. Even some variations in the movie packs were seen, so i cant see one "Uberpack" being used as the "must use" model. The reason im asking is this.. I have 5 different design layouts for a pack using the same set of "add-ons". I have decided on one, and tho similar to a sandy pack, its not neccessarilly "canon". Yes, there are "Canon" pieces.. but also some "non-canon" pieces exist on my pack in construction. Do i have to build a second more canon pack to be a sandy? I know i have asked similar questions before, but i figured we can revisit this topic here in the new and improved forum. Thanks for any help! Erik TK2427 Mountain
