  1. No such extensive cleaning isn't really necessary. You can see the pouch I dyed here (the left one): http://www.sandtrooper.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=809 I just brushed off the dust before I dyed the pouch...
  2. Hi, if you use "Fiebing's Professional Oil Dye" (www.fiebing.com). You don't need to clean up the ammo pouch if there are not too much oil and dirt. They recommend to use "Fiebing's No. 12 Deglazer" to remove old polish and finish. That stuff dyes everything like ****! (hand and clothes included ) I dyed a ammo pouch with several oil stains and they're 100% covered. Cheers, TK-607
  3. Hi, I think RocKo is right. What looks like a five-star pattern is just dirt. To archieve the semi-transparent look I made a mold with silicone RTV and cast it with epoxy. Here are a pic of the first one I've made... TK-607
  4. Hi Mike, nopes, I'm innocent I was the only bidder on that auction... Cheers, TK-607
  5. I also won a lot of 15 cups on eBay Either my backpack(s) will look good or I'll get fat from all the dessert I need to eat... Cheers, TK-607
  6. I found these. Once again some lovely vintage tupperware stuff What do you think? Cheers, TK-607
  7. Thanks for the infos I got them today and after a little bit of cleaning they look much better than on the pic above. Almost too good to dye them black One step closer to get dirty Cheers, TK607
  8. Well, I know that they're MP38/40 pouches. But the shape is different than the ones I know from the Davin Felth site, especially the flaps and the little pouch. Sorry if my first post was mistakeable
  9. A militaria-dealer offered me this pair of ammo pouches for a good price. He told me they're original WW2 era Wehrmacht pouches. I never saw these kind of pouches before. Neither on military nor on star wars related sites. Does anyone of you know these type? Thanks! TK-607
  10. Hi, I'm new to this board and just want to say hello to all the dirty troopers out there . This board gave me alot of inspiration on several props I'm working on. Thanks alot! So, back to topic... Here are some shots of my old RT Mod Helmet which I've changed a while ago into a Sandtrooper. I used Woodland Scenic Colors and followed the weathering tutorial on TDH. Here are some details: I added some real sand by applying it with Hairspray. It holds ok but you can scratch it easily off. I think by raising the Eyebrow Trim the helmet looks now a little bit "out of shape", didn't it? It surely will look much better on my new TE armor. But I dunno if I have the guts to make it dirty... Not now . Cheers, TK-607
