  1. !!!!!NOTICE!!!!! POSSIBLY LOST/STOLEN Please keep an eye out for it, please. Regular Version grey SFS. Sold this, shipped it... apparently lost or stolen. If anyone sees anyone with this helmet in their possession, please let me know, as this is to be considered stolen goods! It was insured and with tracking, but apparently Danish Post calculates reimbursements on international packages based on the weight of the package and not the value of it. I'm learning something new each day about this craptacular only option to send stuff internationally where I live. It just makes me want to puke. I had them search for the package and they couldn't find it and decided to pay out the insurance... but here's the kicker... I get $63 + shipping expenses for a $525 valued shipment. That's how much the insurance from Danish Post amounts to. Now... how in the **** am I going to live with that? My package is lost, meaning... that helmet is gone... and buyer would most definitely like his money back... so I have to pay... and guess what... that's doubly loss for me... and Danish Post can just sit there in their comfy chairs laughing their ***** off because they are a big company and there's basically nothing I can do about it. Right now... I consider Danish Post as thieves who stole my package, as it got lost in their possession, and because of their thieving reimbursement rules for international shipments. I just feel sickened. It is something you would expect from a seedy criminal racketeering business... but I guess that's exactly what they are.
  2. WOAW... that's rocking. Wish I had had access to suits like this when I was 16.
  3. Man, your kid could nearly disappear into that helmet... he's so tiny.
  4. Juan, you made your part in all this very clear. We are just a bunch who like fine things and want to know the history of fine things, as we know that some people have a reason to tarnish fine things for their own reasons, by recasting. I know it is sad to right off the bat when something cool is shown to suspect foul play, but when it comes to troopers and something that looks as accurate as this coming out of the blue and no progress shots, it is sometimes better to play it safe than sorry. It's not meant as putting any blame on you, as you are helpful and trying to get the sculpting progress pictures shown. I for one likes to see progress pictures, as it is interesting to see how things started and progressed and took shape into something recognizable and clearly accurate looking. But, I'm also naturally a bit suspicious about new sculpts that are looking so accurate coming from unknowns, without progress shots, if you know what I mean, as we've been bombarded with recasts and false claims for so long. This is not aimed at you in any way... and I don't want to add to diminishing your fun for the hobby... and it should be fun... and it would be fun if we didn't have to worry about people exploiting our fun for their own gains. If this truly IS a 100% fansculpt... then that'd be so cool, as it will be another option... AND ultimately proof of awesome sculpting abilities. Don't agree at all, but guess such a trend cannot be stopped. I don't understand the need - by staff and members - to want to sweep these things under the carpet and treat them as if they don't exist. How will staff be able to gather all the needed information and people who actually KNOW to make any sort of judgment concerning the origin of trooper armor? Sure this is a hobby, sure, it's supposed to be fun, but it seems that the trooper costuming community closes its eyes to the rest of the community and the effects your decisions has on the whole. You are part of the whole community, whether you see that or not - you are not just your own little niche. What you do and decide affects us all, so should no be hidden, left to staff or closed off sections. That only breeds even more distrust between the trooper costuming community and the community as a whole. I simply don't understand why you'd want to add to that.
  5. It wasn't just Lucas who lost... it was the whole movie industry. Anything older than 15 years are now no longer protected, so anyone can legally replicate a prop from any movie or tv show and sell it in the UK without having to acquire a license first and without fearing a C&D. I'm sure the makers of Dr. Who are thrilled about that, as they just lost their rights to license their own items as well. Nothing but BS and it was a stupid ruling that the judge apparently had no clue what repercussions it would have on the movie industry, otherwise he wouldn't have made such a ruling.
  6. If that's done from scratch, that was incredibly quick you got that near perfect result. I would be interested in seeing progress pictures of the sculpt.
  7. Cool. Yes, I can clearly see you cannot sculpt an accurate looking helmet. Clearly. Fantastic work!
  8. I've been out of the trooper world for a while now... but seriously... real? I thought the small one was your own mini sculpt?
  9. Snazzy piece of modding. Well done. Looks much better. Man... if I could only figure out how to trim ABS I would be done with my helmet already... YIKES...
  10. Looking great. You are really getting that assembly down!
  11. Congrats on the new addition to your family... so, will you be calling him... MINI ME!?
  12. Don't tease with pictures of a better assembly, man... post 'em, post 'em before we explode in anticipation!!!
  13. Getting closer with the assembly. Just need one teensy bit more pulling in the tubes into the back piece... just very little, it's so little it's criminal... but's enough to make the look. Man... you're an assembling machine!
  14. That's still one **** of a paint job. Just perfect!
  15. Much better assembly, imo. I like it. Job well done! <_<
  16. Cool, thanks... With the next you assemble, try to achieve that ongoing curve of the lower tubes from front to back. You nearly got it with this one, but if you pull the face part back about ½ centimeter or less down at the bottom, it'd be better I think. Very well put together. I know the angles aren't exactly right and I know how difficult it is to get every assembly right...
  17. Beautiful helmet. Very nicely put together. What does a kit cost? Mind if I use this picture?
  18. Well... sure... you can fix the center ridge... and I agree, it looks way too wide - just like the old Fyberdyne helmets. Should be easy to make it narrower, since you are gonna work on the dome anyway.
  19. The SgtFang helmet is of the Jeff style helmet family. Altered from an original, so to reverse engineer it you'll need skill, patience and a flair for the various details that make up an accurate Vader. Personally, I wouldn't bother, because once you start... there's just too much that needs to be corrected, not to mention getting a whole new dome for the helmet and then not even knowing if any other dome will fit and look good with the faceplate. This style of helmet is pretty much like the Rubies Supreme in terms of inaccuracies. There's so much that needs to be done to it and it'll end up costing you the same as an accurate styled helmet, so for accuracy, this is not a helmet to get. However, it is a nice helmet, and nicely finished and I would think leaving it "as is" would be better than to frustrate yourself with a task that will eat up a lot of hours and money to get it right. Sorry to be a downer... but with these things, you get what you pay for.
  20. So, the SWR150 is the right one to get and not the SWR149?
  21. Still like this helmet. Very nice paint-up!
