  1. Thanks for the brotherhood....sniff, I think I have something in my eye!
  2. Thanks alot for all the advice right from the get go guys. All the heavy hitters were ready with an answer and a link or whatever and not just the standard "use the search function" line when I joined. I have tried to contribute as much useful info as I can or know and will continue to do so. So far I've made some cool friends here. Woody
  3. Here's the logo now. I have been learning alot more about using the program I have so they keep getting better. I am really stoked about learning how to do the text around the radius.
  4. If it's something really good or hard to find post it live right then if you have an iphone or some other way and maybe someone could get you to buy it for them?
  5. I got a quote for some so when I get them I will post them for sale.
  6. I am really wanting to call it "Khyber Pass Patrol" If you dont know what Khyber Pass means it's a desert mountain pass between Pakistan and Afghanistan that has been crossed by every great general from Alaexander the great to Ghengis Khan and countless battles have been fought there. It's been said about the pass that "Every stone in the Khyber has been soaked in blood" and it is "a sword cut through the mountains." So being called the khyber pass patrol would give us a reputation as widowmakers. Am I being corny or does it sound cool?
  7. Well I just sent you a pm about the custom stuff. I am going to pass on the blue and custom stuff and just do my own patrol. It's still all good. I will come up with a new name soon.
  8. I will be keeping the second logo for my own personal TD patch when I finish my suit. They want to all wear blue pauldrons and do custom suits and stuff and I just dont think I want to do that.
  9. The detailing present is outstanding, they are perfect casts of the original guns. I know, someone says "rubber" and you automatically think soft and floppy but that is not the case they are hard like a tire. I have a T-21, DLT-19 and an EE-3 ROTJ. You can read the ingraving on these things.
  10. the 70 year old hair is kinda creepy, why did the germans leave the hair on? the leather isnt stiff and it doesnt smell too old. I really just got it to add to the collection and when I finally take my pics when I finish my build I will take shots of as many dif troopers as I can and hold it in one hand and a Dewback prod in the other.
  11. I figured if I am gonna collect all the pouches then I at least needed one tornister pack.
  12. Some of the guys are wanting to do crazy non-canaon stuff with it so I am going to talk to them about the sign-up thing. Vector it? What the heck is that...I def need help.
  13. The vacuform pull is very poor. Think of it like this, it's like seeing the sillouette of the gun or the outline draw on paper yes you can tell it's a gun but none of the details are there. The T-21 is not a cheap gun to get and get any quality...but if you are willing to spend some $$ buy a hyperfirm and when you are ready to sell it again you will get your money right back. The resale is almost 100%.
  14. Mine too, the graphic I used for the first one has the sandys with some weird stuff and they dont look very accurate but it was easy to crop and lay down.
  15. We settled on 1138th detatchment, Desert Demons and here's the 2 logos Ive done so far
  16. This is really for the guys who want to collect pouches. You want a canvas MP40 pouch for the shoulder pouch. They can be found all over ebay. Most are from China or India. You want a green set then you will blacken it up with the weathering. They come in a set of two pouches but you will only need the pouch with the extra little pocket.
  17. I found these on ebay today. the small pouch would need to be moved. For those who wanted the leather version. http://cgi.ebay.com/WW2-GERMAN-40-MP-leather-pouch-Exact-replica-/110610085760?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19c0dff780
  18. Here you go and cheap for the real thing... http://cgi.ebay.com/Set-6-Gray-Tupperware-Covered-Pudding-Cups-Lids-Lot-/270660840067?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f04a4aa83
  19. Yes the boots are awesome. I feel like a pimp in them! I may wear them out to dinner with some slick polyester pants before I weather them!
  20. Does anyone have the diagram from Arts TD reference CD?
  21. If I found the real radio I would have posted 200000 pics the same day I found it. If you go to the 501st thread there's a pic from the TV show "The Avengers" with a guy holding the radio and you can see something on the other side of the radio. I dont know about RCA jacks either, they would stick out further than the headphone jack would I think.
  22. I have a question, has anyone go so far as to recreate the vinyl binding covering the outside of the radio? Also the antenna is plainly visible in post #2 on the screen used packs. I will be using a folded strip of vinyl on mine and an antenna. My 2 cents on the side connectors is in the 70's headphones were the giant coconut sized ones with 1/4" pin jacks and the spots just dont look big enough to me. I could be wrong but I have played guitar for 25 years and seen alot of that sized input jack. Look at the radio in post #4 the front on view shows that nothing sticks out past the side of the radio a headphone or mic jack would have the standard nut that screws on to hold it and it would stick out from the side and be visible from that angle. I think they are just there to hold the vinyl band around the outside on.
  23. HOLY SMOKES! That'll give you nightmares! About the R2D2 suit you think they would have used a top heavy model but NOOOOOOOOOOOO. LOL!
