  1. I'll try that, Thanks guys! I just realized that the question WAS asked before and there were several different suggestions given from elastic to velcro to leather. I'm going to try the elastic, I already have some.
  2. Sorry if this has been asked before but what do you use for shoulder straps in place of the ribbed Stormtrooper ones?? Nylon? Leather?? Canvas??? Can someone enlighten me Thanks, TD8828
  3. Okay, I made a few changes based on everyones recommendations One of the inside, still needs fans installed.
  4. I'll say one thing, this AP helm is not as thick as my old FX and I have to be careful how I hold it. Maybe thats why the mic tip areas are so thin because the plastic was thin to begin with. I still like the way it looks overall.
  5. Mine was the same! I was a bit disappointed when I got it. For what I paid I was expecting more, the pull was not as crisp as I would have liked, and thin in places like where the Hovi tips go is wafer thin. If I was going to be using this for a clean white trooper I would have sent it back for a refund but figured since I was dirtying it up anyways???. I'm happy with the final result I accomplished just not with the product itself. The crease is not as noticable after dirtying.
  6. I look forward to the day brother! But don't rush it, I've had back injuries myself and was off for 6 weeks with a pinched sciatic nerve (not fun) give yourself enough time to heal, we'll be here for you Sorry I was unaware of your condition.
  7. When you going to get out and troop with us again??? We need more Sandies out at events!!
  8. Thanks for all the great input guys!!! Most welcomed I'm going to take your suggestions, paint lines around the ear caps, paint lines on the bottom of the back grey panels, less grey in the teeth area. I'm really glad there's so many willing to help out and give positive suggestions here, it makes it all the more rewarding to hear good things from your peers.
  9. I just finished my new AP bucket and wanted some feedback, what do you guys think? Should make a nice addition to my armour, now I can retire the FX bucket
  10. How about a minigun? Made this just for fun Short 7 sec. Video link http://s16.photobucket.com/albums/b29/TD88...nt=CIMG1606.flv
  11. Awesome tutorial! Those binocs look sweet and I love the weathering. I'm going to go make a pair Nice work! Thanks for sharing
  12. Very nice PVC cannon, man that guys got some prop collection!
  13. Top notch job on the weathering
  14. The casters are coming off! Yep, scratch built except for the tripod base which I added part to.
  15. Yeh, I didn't think there was, but I suppose one could make something like you described just for effect! Hmmm....ideas... Thanks Seth!
  16. I just recently built an E-web for my Snowtrooper costume to take to events for photo ops with the kids. Did the Sandtroopers use a BFG similar to this? I want to built a Sandtrooper version of the E-web Here's my E-web Any suggestions?
  17. I have mine attached to the pack frame, draped over the shoulder and a velcro patch to hold it to the chestplate, you'll need to use contact cement for leather to get the velcro to stick to the pouch. On the chestplate, as long as the spot is clean the sticky velcro should hold.
  18. Thanks guys! I'm going trooping today with the new pack and blaster for the first time I'll post some pics later
  19. Comparison with one of my "Hardware packs"on the right
  20. A couple more pics Weilding my scratch built Lewisgun Yes....the FX helmet is being replaced by a new AP helm soon
  21. Well after building numerous hardware packs I finally purchased some pack parts (Thanks Chip) to make myself an ANH style pack so here it is! Prior to weathering I had to modify the frame a bit by shortening the bottom loop. Added the cross piece up top so I could mount the pack straps. Constructed a few of the parts myself, the Tupperware patty stacker and bits that go onto it, the exhaust tube beside the bottle on the upper box, the 5- 2" tubes beside the mortar launcher (I used plastic screen to cap the ends, needlepoint forms) Finished pack with weathering What do you think? Opinions?
  22. That's pretty cool and lightweight! I currently have my MP3 player running through my Radio shack voice amp on my belt. I have the Imperial march looped so when Vader arrives he's brought in in grand fashion. I also use it for my Tusken raider for the Tusken battle cry and other various grunts and growls.
  23. Welcome Jez! Love your site, been there numerous times
  24. Very nicely done! freakengine You can find the rubber snooper scope eye shield at old camera shops (second hand camera shops) some older SLR cameras had the rubber shield. Hey, what did you use for the cap on the receiver end? I'm trying to figure that part out as well as the ribs on the ammo cylinders? Nice gun
