Well, my story isn't as interesting as yours. I picked the 11 for the first two numbers just because it has a nice ring to it. Such as 1138. The second half of it 49 I picked because I tend to watch a lot of older films and some of my favorites came out of the 40's. 49 is just one that wasn't taken. Exciting huh? Aren't you glad you asked?
  3. I carry the pauldron, E-11, backpack, and 2 ammo pouches. I have my voice amp mounted in the backpack. Still haven't built my BFG but hopefully soon. I also need to get another belt pouch to hold keys, wallet etc. I think the amount of gear you have is a personal preference. I have a big friggin' pack so I try not to carry too much other junk around. I'll probably never carry the binders, binoculars and dewback prod but to each his own.
  4. Yeah, Star Wars Shop says "Available only to Hyperspace members". I feel a Hyperspace rant coming on so I better get out of here.
  5. I really like all the details you put into it. Very cool.
  6. I prefer the orange but I also have black for any official MEPD events (C3) that I'll be attending.
  7. Welcome to the life of filth and grime RagingBantha.
  8. That sounds like a great idea.
  9. What is the rule on BFG's? Do they have to be canon or can we do our own designs?
  10. That charter sounds like a great idea. I've also wondered what is considered canon as far as the backpacks go. Especially since there were so many different versions in the film. I'd sure like to here back from Joe and everyone else on this. Personally I think backpack design should be up to the individual trooper.
  11. Only 6 months. Just kidding. I waited over a year just to get the TK designation.
  12. Hey Bamatrooper. I like the cold vest idea. I wonder how much they go for. Like Calikid said though if you use tempera paint like I do the condensation is going to make it run all over the place. I wonder if placing a layer of material over the top of it would keep it from running. What are the underarmor suits made of? Right now I use the Lycra Dive Skin from 123Scuba. It doesn't absorb sweat very well so I usually wear a t-shirt underneath. I thought about going with the Renaissance Dancewear suit but I'm not sure it would be any better.
  13. Cool. Can't wait to see some pictures of it on the armor.
  14. OK all of you warm climate troopers I need to here from you. I have an outdoor event coming up on Sunday and it could be a scorcher outside. What extra things if any do you do to stay cool? I've already dremeled out my frown and installed fans. And drinking lots of fluids is a no brainer. Has any body ever tried lining parts of their armor with those little cold plastic pouches that are used for sprained ankles and such? Just a random thought I had.
  15. Anyone doing anything special in the way of trooping for the 4th? I'll be marching in the local parade. I managed to convince my boss that I'd be a good security guard for their float.
  16. Thanks. I was looking under My Account and not Profile.
  17. Hello fellow troopers. It's good to be here. Excellent site.
  18. Can someone tell me in detail how to my own avitar working?
  19. I also went with tempera paint. I really like the texture of it when it dries. Very crusty.
