I didn't say he owned the rights. Remember all the courts are saying is that is is able to manufacture replicas of the design. As for it being art: the product is intended to be worn on the head as part of a costume and, it could be argued, does indeed have a utilitarian purpose (as opposed to art which by definition does not). History has however blurred the lines between art and object. After all one man's art is another man's urinal.

I think the key phrase is "the helmets are not copyrightable works of art" meaning that he has no claim to the intellectual property rights of the design. In fact in IP terms AA probably has more right to the design since he was the artist or artisan primarily responsible for the design. Unless the IP was assigned in some way to GL perhaps by way of a contractual agreement.
I'm not a lawyer either just a UK-based designer of buildings who also has a keen interest in protecting his own IP.

There are so many inconsistencies, where do you begin???

People do live and troop outside CONUS. Coming from the UK with the new VCR legislation it's bizarrely harder to obtain replicas than deacs.

It's like a skeleton version of street luge. Awesome. But stupid on open roads.

I'm sure that $20m could have easily been better spent elsewhere (perhaps saving a few lives rather than lining the pockets of lawyers) and an amicable solution negotiated.

Use a fixative spray such as

works a treat

Looks great bro

Thanks for the words of encouragement guys. The weathering really is a lot of fun. I'm using a combination of woodland scenic earth colours - Stone grey, burnt umber, concrete, and raw umber - and light dustings with fixative and krylon desert tan to hold the pigment better and allow layers to be built up. I like the dirty look over the yellow look. I have had a go at the pauldron in a similar way and will snap another couple of better res pics tomorrow morning in the daylight.

Buy Tensol 12 from eBay. It really is the best glue.

Is the SIG still inside it? Hope you only used a cheap springer

Amazing photoshop work there. Many man-hours, I suspect. Shame the Ryan poster looks like it's three images of you rather than three individual troopers. I do love the reference to the Star Wars Weekly story "The Day After the Death Star". Very nice.

I just noticed the 2 strips of white gaffa tape on the backs of the TD's calves.

I have found Tensol 12 is the best cement for ABS.
But if you can get hold of it Chloroform is pretty good too.

I've just ordered the recommended RadioShack personal PA amp system from a UK re-seller, so I hope this solves my immediate problem.
Would like to have the sound output from a set of trik-toys mic tips though. Any advice on how to achieve this would be appreciated.

I recently received my Hyperdyne Pro Trooper Amp board and am struggling with it. I bought a condenser microphone from Maplins before I received it only to find that condenser microphones apparently don't work with it! Does any trooper out there have experience with the board and which accessories will work with it?
Any advice and help appreciated.

Hi, my name is Joel. Some people may know me as Wannabe from http://www.wannabe.uk.com and http://wannabe.ipbhost.com where I have been doing modern military impressions for the past few years. I am only now reaffirming my geek status by getting into trooping and have recently purchased a white armour kit. I will be seeking 501st approval in the very near future and will be looking to join the dirty ranks of the guys in the sandbox. Looking forward to spending some time here and learning lots.
finally satisfied...

Looks really good. An awful lot like how I did my own lid. The markings on the dome look more like scorch-marks than dirt though. Was this the effect you were going for?
