  1. My thought for updating my own blaster was to drill them about half way into the stock, that way they won't weaken the part but should simulate the holes, then for the one where the butt overlaps I'll just fill that in afterwards. Nick
  2. Bob, You need to start off here mate http://forum.mepd.net/index.php?showtopic=7240 If you contact the armour makers direct they will get back to you to meet your needs. Cheers Nick
  3. Wverything Ive seen about these whilst trying to search for them simply states Spanish pouch or spanish ammo pouch, It would be interesting to find their origin. I read on some forum that the small one could date back to spanish civil war, and actually be a ammo pouch for muskets and the like. Nick
  4. The webbing strap is added on by myself, as is the D-ring, that is to enable the pouch to be velcro hung from the back of the Belt. I would suggest if you are gonna make some of these, that would be a good thing to attach as it would allow people the ability to attach them to the belt as realistically as possible. with a small square of velcro attached on the very top of the webbing strap. I have done the medium spanish pouch also. Anything else I can help with please holler. Nick
  5. Brady, I hope this is good enough for you, I know they are not the best quality but hopefully you get the idea. Anything I can do to help.....the more people have access to these hard to get pouches the better. Nick
  6. Here is a little mock-up I made on Photoshop of myself in place of the Stop that Ship Captain approaching Docking Bay 94! Nick
  7. Here are a few pics of some of the details on the armour that will be required for my MEPD deployment. Thighs and the suspenders holding them on my belt Curved cut on knee ammo pack and closed rivet on side. Torso Snaps under cod piece Right side snap Left side 6 brads Correctly cut belt Canvas shoulder straps and showing my Icomm and Amp setup. Correct placement of Sniper knee-pad Velcro closing on back of shins Weathered shoulderpauldrons.com pauldron with sticker ring mark. Hopefully that should be everything, thanks for looking. Nick
  8. That's very possible, or maybe it was those bloody Jedi and their stupid mind tricks making me think it wasnt changing! Nick
  9. OK so I spent a bit of time this afternoon getting dolled up and here are the results. Some of these shots I have put forward as my clearance shots. Here is me with just the armour on no pauldron or pack. With everythign on And me as the "Stop that Ship" Captain. Couple with the weapons And finally lid off to reveal the real me. Hope you like. Fingers crossed for me that I get cleared. Nick
  10. Ah it has suddenly worked now Noel. Don't know what you did but it really wasn't allowing me to do that yesterday. Thanks Nick
  11. Juan, I followed this tutorial mate and it worked great just wanted to share my findings with everyone too. Bent a coat hanger wire for the bracket on the pouch and then looped some black webbing through and glued it together at the top with E6000 along with a small pad of velcro. Then simply stuck the self adhesive velcro to the inside of the belt both sides. Et voila, a really easy solution to something that may scare the heck out of you, as to how you are ever going to do it. Thanks Nick
  12. Thank you so much for the kind words it is really nice to hear. Anyway on with the display and a few of my ancillaries now. Rubber gloves with Karin's rubber hand plates. TKBoots My first E-11 which is full Resin Doopydoos, slightly weathered with a counter and power cylinders. My second E-11 is BBC pipe build with Doopydoos resin parts, no counter, and Blastech rubber T-Tracks. My T-21 which was scratch built following pandatrooper's tutorial and features the correct 2 tone sling. Backpack, again built using tutorials on this site, some parts scratch built and some from boba at UKG. If you're wondering what the tape on the back is for, its to stop the paint rubbing on my armour. Pouches Next, later today I hope to be able to don my armour and get my clearance photos done. Thanks Nick
  13. I can change the avatar in my profile, and then if I log out and go back to my profile it shows my old avatar and it still shows up in all my posts and on my profile when you click to look at it. Seems really bizarre. Is this file uploaded on my profile somewhere mate? Nick
  14. Thanks Rolf that means alot coming from you! It's guys like yourself who have inspired me to get this far. Nick (null)
  15. Guys and Gals, That time has come now where my armour is finally complete, weathered and strapped and all just about ready to troop in I feel. Hence I am going to be putting my clearance pics in to my Garrison very soon. In the meantime I wanted to share with you some pictures of the full thing and ask that anyone who wants to pass me any constructive criticism on the armour, especially where it will fail either 501st or MEPD deployed acceptance. Armour and helmet is ATA. Lets start with the helmet. Full left side shot Right side From the Back From the front All decals are hand painted Ear screws right Ear screws left Mic Tips Interior And finally the Green lenses. I have a spreadsheet of the CRL requirements to make sure I dont miss anything, and I think everything should be covered here, please let me know if Ive missed anything. Also I thought everyone would like to see pictures (I know I do), as I'm quite proud of this, my first ever armour build. Thanks for looking Nick
  16. Noel, Evertime I try to change my avatar, it shows different in my profile whilst I am changing it, and if I click on the edit avatar picture button, however my avatar is staying the same as the one I used to use. I do not have this picture on my computer any more even, so it seems odd that this is not letting me change it. Any ideas? Nick
  17. Sorry Juan, Ive been made to look a bit foolish now, should've kept my mouth shut. LOL. I can't remember where I got the dimensions for the scope rail. I think I just made it the same width as the rear sight, which made it about 15mm wide, then cut it in to fit between the rear sight and mounted it in the hole at the back. As far as a D-ring goes, I made my own from some wire I had left over from a siphon for a backpack. Nick
  18. I stand corrected Ed thanks for that. Hadnt looked at that site for ages. Nick
  19. Looking great Juan. A little tip for you I found when doing 2 previous Doopydoo blasters and something I would want to try again if I get around to doing my uber realistic one one day. You can file, or snap off the d-ring on the end cap and drill through and mount your own for added realism. And just looking is your scope rail a little wide, could you take it over the rear sight like it's supposed to be on reference pics? Also don't forget to drill the holes in the bottom of the folded stock, again for added realism (something I will do on future builds. Nick
  20. OK I have been working on the weathering. I think I am pretty much done, just a couple of little tweaks with the thigh suspenders and then I should be good to submit my clearance photos. I had the helmet in the house today to do some soldering on the fans so decided to take a couple of shots to show you the weathering. Although initially I was going to try and go for SWAT level with this armour straight away I have decided against that idea after seeing how the weathering process went. I think I will need a bit of time before I can exactly match the "Stop that Ship" Captain's armour and so I have decided to just go for 501st and MEPD deployment first and then work towards SWAT later if that is what I want. Most important things first. Let me know what you think. Nick
  21. Sounds like Sandsnipe is talking about the Red Rain Squad of Alabama Garrison. These guys are non canon Lefevre although they are an official 501st non-canon group. If you wish to have a skirt or cape I would imagine that you would not be able to troop with your own Garrison, you will need to check with your Garrison Staff. Nick
  22. Yeh that is exactly what I am doing Juan, in fact I used your sketch as a reference when putting it all together. I was meaning the shins are turning around a little, especially the left one. I intend to try lining it with some black neoprene to see if that does the trick of holding it still. I still have to widen the left thigh again, then hopefully that will sit in place and we are just about there, just a few minor tweaks left to go. Thanks again Nick
  23. Jesse, That is looking sweeet mate!. Lovely and sharp. Cant wait to see what your radio faceplate comes out like. Nick
  24. OK I got suited and booted again tonight to test out the modifications to my armour and also to try everything on for the first time, including the pack. Here are the photos, sorry about poor quality again but its not the best camera and is also inside at night which doesnt help. Left thigh still needs to be widened again to allow it to sit hugher, but Im much happier with the right now that that has been widened. I also still need to find a way to make the left shin stop from rotating. Any ideas? Should be able to start putting the finishing touches to the armour in the next few weeks, and then look at starting weathering soon after. Getting closer by the day now. Exciting stuff!!! Cheers Nick
