  1. Do not fret, there is another. P.S. It's not your sister. Oh no what's going on here?? Seth, are you starting to quote dead jedi?? (j/k!) Very encouraging news about that 'other' for upgrades-waiting- to-happen as yours truly...
  2. Great start! I'm sure the endproduct will be too.
  3. Tony, I hope you gave that jawa a good dose of some MEPD payback! That's hilarious and one of the best I've seen yet.
  4. Now there's an idea for a scrounger like myself!
  5. Really nice scratchwork there! It takes fans sometimes to improve on the original designs.
  6. If you plan on permanent or semi-permanent weathering, you could use acrylics like in your picture. Many go with tempera paints however because they're easier to remove or reapply as needed - dampened cloth or sponge I think. Haven't tried personally since I've no intention of regressing back to clean. As you troop it will also naturally wear off in areas of your armor. You could remove acrylic too but it may take some effort with a solvent.
  7. With the kids; before dirt, mods and fitting adjustment on upper chest
  8. Excellent work! Is there a pack to go with it?
  9. That shoulder bell is really nice - Maryland's state flag is well suited for it too. Always liked that design since seeing it as a kid when we were stationed at Andrews AFB. I think out here in WA however, using George Washington's picture would look odd unless we modified him into a stormie too
  10. Now that's an interesting idea although I've seen it done to actual pre-kevlar steel helmets.
  11. Mike, For the five small tubes on the right side of the upper box, what did you use to fill out the ends? Thanks!
  12. Very creative use of material! Never hurts to have some flair when short on resources. Now let's get 'er dirty!
  13. Niiiiice kitbash!! Just gave me a low-cost, time-friendly idea for my kotos as a future project.
  14. Real cool! Like the improv for the dome construction.
  15. You got that right for us ex-bachelors! I've been looking at ROM/fx too but in this case restraint is the better part of valor and decided to wait till I've upgraded some other things first before going spendaholic
  16. Welcome. We'll show you how to do dirty deeds, some of it even dirt cheap!
  17. Yes, I do have access. A poll sounds like a good idea and appreciate your suggestion for its own page. Thanks for the support!
  18. Glad you like it Rob. I hope by doing this we add some substance and character depth to the form here. That way prospective members will see more than just another costuming board but an attitude to go with it. Something that defines us by saying 'Don't mess with us because we're MEPD!'
  19. And in the future for all the holdouts still with the FX lid while everyone else's got ANH, they could be known as 'The Old Contemptibles'. I mean that in a positive way with no disrespect to the original UK unit
  20. Paul, We could ask Mr. Zahn himself tomorrow and ask what he thinks
  21. Ok Paul, Gotta a friendly disagreement with you on this one. Your arguments about damage and servicability are valid but not compelling because who knows what materials technology was used in the SW universe? I'd be interested to hear of any references in print; 'plastoid' is one I've come across. We all know that the armor isn't exactly idea for real-world combat conditions but the fact remains that in the anthology they had a utility and purpose (impervious to blasterfire sadly not one of them). Stuff like thermoreg, comm, enhanced visual,etc... Ok now here's why your argument is valid: if we assume the laws of physics are also a constant in the SW universe but knowing what material the armor is made of, then it stands to reason that a lens will shatter on impact (energy>force>velocity>mass) or expose and render any circuitry useless. However since we fictionally don't know exactly what the armor's supposed to be made of and the weapons are laser vs. projectile based, then we can only speculate on the results. That's where the creative part comes in. For example a lens may warp or melt instead of shatter. Also a sandy out in the dunes may not have any replacement gear handy after a firefight so the exposed circuitry is plausible and adds dimension. His MEPD buddies would be looking after him for sure. Not a mythbuster but just my opinion.
  22. No worries! It wasn't meant for memorization but just something I thought would be cool when someone's ready to deploy; plus kinda defines who we are in the SW scheme of things. Still waiting for the board admin to weigh in, at least as far as a timeframe for others to submit their drafts (if any). Maybe by the end of the month if its not pushing it, for people's suggestions and putting it up to a vote?
  23. Ok here's what I got so far. I dispensed with a brash gung-** approach in favor of a more bureacratic draconian one. After all we are the empire I solemnly swear unwavering allegiance to Lord Vader, his majesty the Emperor and to uphold the laws of the Empire to the best of my ability. As a deployed member of the MEPD, I am dutybound to faithfully execute the orders of my superiors in maintaining Imperial law and order in the towns, cantinas, moisture farms, desert wastes and wherever suppression of indigenous or off-world lifeforms are necessary. I will be ever-vigilant in my hunt and apprehension of rebels and their jedi traitor sycophants. Should they resist or obstruct detention or interrogation, I am empowered to carry out their immediate termination unless otherwise instructed. I am further empowered to confiscate any droids suspected of carrying any contraband data or holocrons predjudicial to the interests of the Empire. On patrol I will endeavor to collect as much local intelligence pursuant to the discovery, arrest and/or liquidation of any rebels and their sympathizers. I will treat the local inhabitants with the courtesy deserving of a non-hostile cooperative citizenry but reserve the right to enact punitive measures when crimes of lawlessness or treason are committed. I respect my fellow troopers and will not do anything to undermine or jeapordize their welfare through dereliction of duty, insubordination or cowardice. I acknowledge MEPD membership as an earned privelege within the ranks of the 501st Legion and therefore am held to a higher code of conduct and honor in assuming the duties and responsibilities of deployment. Pls post your critiques and suggestions. I'm all ears!
  24. Great! Looks like I got some brainstorming to do. If anyone wants to throw some ideas my way for possible inclusion, feel free to PM me Once some roughs are written up, I could then submit to MEPD officer corps for them to pick one for their seal of approval. Sound like a plan?
