Interesting, like a lot of the stuff done on this film, it is not done that well. As mentioned above, some of the modern weathering looks so much better, I agree this would probably not look that good in person.
But for us accuracy nuts it is a great resource.

It would be so cool if he got a job from this thread. Let us know how it goes woodchuck!

These are being made by Russell Replicas a veteran of the RPF and of many many runs.
The mic tips will be machined aluminium and anodised black. We need 20 people to make this run happen.
£18 shipped - Approx $30.
They will look exactly like this set:

Bump for the helmet pics.
Are you using a mould from an original helmet or a new sculpt?

I threw up in my (AP) bucket a little bit.
This crap is on ebay UK all the time. I questioned it and the seller said she knows nothing and is selling it for her husband.

Keith does top notch mic tips.
Looking forward to pics of your helmets.

Gino and Matt in the same room, cool!

Looks perfect Rolfe. You've really nailed that assembly now. You should do a weathered version of the original with all the paint chips, I would love to see that.

Wow he is beautiful! Congrats man!
He does look like baby superman.

I just think it needs some tweaking with the assembly and a bit of heating an re-shaping as per Mac on the den. Someone like Keith could sort this out!
Great buckets, thanks for sharing the pics.

The cap just doesn't look right at all to me. The FG SFS cap is much closer to the original. What happened to the cap with this one, did he change the mould?

Can't wait to see the ageing/weathering. I love crappy looking original style troopers.

Looking great. I love these ultra accurate helmets you have been doing. What colour did you use for the HDPE, was it from Halfords?

Some constructive critisism, personally I don't think it looks like real weathering.
You need to build it up in layers, starting with darker colours and gradually getting lighter. See the tutorial here:

SE ROTJ Style Stormtrooper Helmets
in Closed Project Runs
Posted
Is there any interest in fully finished cast from an original ROTJ Stormtrooper helmet in the SE Sandy style?
