  1. I am still on my first set and have weathered and re-weathered twice... I still have about 70% left..
  2. OK - evidently they went cheap and re-used old standard trooper molds for the parts.. 1. Bubble Lenses 2. Ab Plate wrong 3. Knee Plate wrong 4. Holster 5. Drop Boxes 6. ESB/JEDI Black Frown instead of Grey/Gray ....keep checking - I am sure there is more...
  3. OK guys and gals - here is a question - does the DLT-19 have a strap? If so - what color, where does it attach? etc...
  4. Or make your own.... http://www.multiplehat.com/whitearmor/sniperplate/
  5. If you have a "Steve & Barry's" anywhere around - they have a perfect non shiny lycra blend top for 7 bucks!
  6. ..and there you go.. http://www.sportsmansguide.com/cb/cb.asp?a=261694&pn=2
  7. Oh, Ok then. my bad. ........BUT If the gentlemen making Hyperfirm weapons want to mold mine - I would be more than happy to work out something
  8. So, cutting the BACK is recommended? ... I can't bend at all in my custom suit (non FX - non TE) and when I drop anything, I just can't do anything about it... That AND the back strain that comes from having the backpack combined with the lack of ability to bend anything between the chest and waist.... ???????
  9. I beleive the term "Hyper-Firm" is already owned by a reputable dealer, and I would never consider co-opting their terms or market share... on the other hand... I figure about 2 gallons of RTV Silicone and some ingenuity... I could make myself a nice light reproduction for serious trooping..
  10. about 20-30 hours... a couple here, a couple there... the shaping of the butt-stock took the longest for any one peice...estimate about 4-5 hours with a saw, file, sandpaper and some sweat...
  11. I have a Lewis, DLT-19 and an MG-15 I like my new DLT19 right now, but am building the Lewis... So for now it's a toss up between my MG-15 and DLT-19
  12. Defenitely spend the extra couple of bucks and get Nomex gloves... I have a lycra blend top from Wal-Mart, and pants from a discount store called "Steve & Barry's" - total about 20 bucks in undersuit... also check Sportsmansguide.com for black mens athletic pants.. usually around 20 bucks http://www.sportsmansguide.com/cb/cb.asp?a=247197
  13. OK Fellow Troopers - here is the finished product.... these are the best pics I could take given the size of the gun... 04 parts, breaks down and re-assembled tight... I know it's not exact, or a Sci_fire, but hey, it's hand carved wood and light..
  14. Yeah - I "re-ran" my straps over my shoulder and through the opeining at the top of the chest plate - made all the differnece in the world... no more armpit bruises....
  15. ...we don't need no stinking seams... I assume you will be painting afterwards - be sure to pick up some Acryl-Green putty (similar to Bondo, get a tube at NAPA )... it sands and takes paint well, and can help hide those unsightly seams, works as a gap filler too!
  16. I used a black screen door repair kit and topped it off with a layer of weed-stop gardner's film (black, fiber based, but can breath)..
  17. I think so. In our Garrison, we have a former Marine who served in Iraq and knows first hand what things look like when they're used for combat in the desert. He's always telling me that white plastic would not look like the way we've painted ours to look. I would have to agree with him, but I think think that some humidity would escape from the inside of our armor, and create 'wet spots' on the armor where sand/dirt would accumulate. I would also think even with casual wear, there would be a light dusting. One thing to keep in mind, is that while it sounds a little backward - less IS more. The human eye can detect the slightest blemishes and notices when a Stormtrooper is dirty compared to filthy. Right there with you. Trying to attain that "middle ground" myself... Maybe we shoudl come up with the "Sewer Trooper" designation for those who are overly grungy..
  18. All I can say is (to the tune of the old Dire Straights MTV line)... I want my, I want my , I want my MEPD!
