  1. Yes, I think this is a great idea. If there is anything I can do, please let me know.
  2. Well, if you're volunteering you'd need to contact Tim Knapp, since he's the 501st volunteer coordinator for C3.
  3. Yanno, as much as I love the MEPD (which I doubt anyone can question! ), I never wear the patch on my gear. It's just not canon, and therefore defeats the purpose for me.
  4. Actually, while I think the Dewback Cav. is awesome, I don't really see a point to doing it legion wide. I mean, we (the MEPD) ARE the Legion's Dewback Cav in the technical sense, since we have the most canon guys "most likely to be seen on a big lizard" out of the Legion. Again, this is in no way a slam on the dewback cav. ****, I even have one of their patches myself, but I'm happy enough just being a proud member of the MEPD, where Dirt = Commitment.
  5. Okay, Officers (yanno, like police offers and such), who is going to C3, AND has signed up to volunteer? In other words, if you're volunteering, but haven't entered your name in the MEPD database, please do so immediately so we can try to coordinate everything on our end of things, and hopefully lighten Tim's burden a little. Here's the link to the database: http://movies.groups.yahoo.com/group/MEPD/...eportRows&tbl=5 Thanks, TD-0013, XO MEPD
  6. Honestly, I think it'd be easier to just form the backpack to fit over/around the existing backplate. You never know when a backpack might not work in a given situation, and it's better to not have the backpack then have the wrong plate.
  7. Having seen your gear in person Bill, all we need to do is remove the black snaps on the current ab plate 'til we make some new ones on your vacc table.(hint!) Just pop the buttons, putty the holes, and paint 'em white & dirt, and you're good to go.
  8. Guinness is ALWAYS good! Count me in!
  9. Sweet, bro. Nice to have you back, obviously. Lest anyone think we're fighting or some other such nonsense. Nuthin' but uv fo' my dirty homie! BooYaa.
  10. Bill, I am so going to come over to your house and hump your leg.
  11. About fekkin' time, ya slacker. Kevin/NotTheJoey
  12. Well, obviously, I'm planning on wearing my TD gear. I'm a sandtrooper, first and foremost. I now have all the trimmins' too! Knee plate, ab, lewis gun, etc! Hopefully I can build a more canon bacpack by then too. Plus, the "admiral" (my wife) will most likely be wearing her TD gear as well on Saturday! Yes, she's getting trooper armor and immediately converting it to a nice dirty sandtrooper! I love my wife. BTW...Who is planning on attending the 501st/Rebel scum mixer thing Friday night? I plan on being there, and I'd love to share stories and drinks with my fellow dirty boys!
  13. Actually, the figure/me was drawn by Joshua Cole, who's a member of the Dune Sea Garrison here in Arizona. I made the banner and added the background and such. I draw too, but not much these days...The only thing I can think of that recent-ish is this goofy cartoon I drew about a year ago.... http://members.cox.net/td0013/speedin01.jpg I'm thinking about putting up gallery of my artwork though, so who knows....
  14. Okay, here's the info again: Now, be sure to put "[mepd] deployment photos" in the subject line so I don't perform a blanket delete. TD-257, go ahead and email them to me again, using the address listed above, and with the subject listed as well, please. I should have them done in a mteer of days once I get them.
  15. Awesome, thanks, Josh. If anyone else is ready for deployment, please send me you photos! Thanks.
  16. Welcome aboard! It also looks like you could use healthy serving of DIRT for your gear too! Dirt = Commitment
  17. Trust me, everyone that sent me the photos has had them photoshopped and ready to post, Josh. We're just waiting on you.
  18. While the idea has been batted around before, I don't think it's something we'd allow in the MEPD, since we're the "canon" Legion's Sandtrooper Det. But, like he said, don't let that stop you from being one! We actually have one here in AZ, so you won't be alone!
  19. Agreed. Welcome aboard, and impressive work!
  20. Josh, what is the status of this? I sent you two more troopers a while ago, and they still haven't been added yet.
  21. Got mine today, and they are gorgeous! I can 't wait to wear mine to this weekend's Armor party for the DSG! Man, will they be jealous!
  22. Wesley, here's what I need: Two HIGH RESOLUTION photos, one full length, head to toe with armor on...Perhaps a good "action" pose. One with helmet off, so we can see yer mug. The requirements for deployment are: DIRT Canon ab plate, or modified ab plate (Modified as in, all black buttons removed, and holes puttied and painted white.) Diamond knee plate BFG Backpack NO patches, stickers, or other non-canon decorations on the gear. This includes Garrison/Legion patches on pauldron, name plates on chest, etc. Send the photos to ME at: td0013 AT cox DOT net Once I recieve them, I will get them ready for deployment, and then I will send them to Joshua for posting. If ANYONE else is also ready, please get your photos to me so we can get this done. Thanks, Kevin O'Connor, TD-0013, XO - MEPD
  23. Office of what? You mean here in the MEPD? Last I was told, Bamatrooper is the CO, and I'm an XO, along with Joe Musso.
  24. Not Joe. Joshua. So what is the word, Josh?
  25. No real word yet, as things are still in the very, very early planning stages of 501st involvment of the convention as a whole. Once the Legion finds out what's being offered to us for duty, Tim said he'd try to find something good and logical for Sandtroopers to do well as the usual guard duties and such. I personally am shooting for the MEPD getting the duty of working the crowd before the gates/doors open Thursday/friday morning. let us be the first things people see, yanno?
