  1. Still gotta install my avatar. Yeah, tube stripes are stickers. Maybe I'll get Mike templates someday.
  2. Thanks! It's an AP 2008, with Stomper's hovis yes, the outlines are a nightmare, but I just used a black permanent marker and used the contours as a guide.
  3. Painted my first helmet. What do you say? I know, I still have to get it dirty. Thanks for ooking!
  4. Sure, they're individually cut, not part of the mold. They range from deep to practically non-existant with the original.
  5. Thank you, Paul! BTW: It's always good to have a spare pair
  6. This my latest incarnation. This even features one never before replicated detail: Knuckle indentions on the backside! Note that this is the "curved edge" version we are used to. There a slightly differnt sculpt with an "straight edge" (mostly seen on the right hand), which account for 4 different kinds of hand guards seen in ANH 1) standard 1 (curved edge) 2) standard 2 (straight edge) 3) alternative (a.k.a hero) 4) cheese grater (seen on sandtrooper) Feel free to comment! Standard 1 With screen accurate weathering: Knuckle indentions Alternative style, weathered Thanks, Karin
  7. There were plenty of white streaks on the screen used gloves
  8. Sorry I didn't find this thread earlier... As Juan said, get the cheapest silicone caulk you can find. It has to be that "vinegar" type, used in bathrooms. I suggest clear or white. An alternative would be dark honey brown to simulate the latex (I used grey in the following pics for demonstration) 1) Rough up the area of the glove where the guards go. 2) Put some "snakes" of silicone on the back 3) Spread it really thin 4) Place on glove and put some heavy books (or something else) on it 5) Wait for 24-48 hrs It will bond really well, but you can still peel it off...if you like to have a stronger bond, you can NOW use regular CA glue... 6) peel back a little, use a few drops of CA glue, press for several seconds...and so on until you're satisfied. or... you can use this glue without any silicone, as Richard (TK3045) found out: I hope that helps Karin
  9. Thanks for all the kind words! I thought I'd share some new pics: Here's style B(hero) non-latex glued to rubber gloves (many thanks to my fiance for modelling) In this pic you can see the flexability. It follows every curve of your hand Did I mention that they're quite glossy? And no paint cracking 'cause no paint is involved? Regards, Karin
  10. Thanks ! yup.. they are. the han hero plates. and lots of other troopers wore them aswell. Here's a pic compilation (made by TM, hope it's ok to post it) there's some more info at this FISD thread http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?show...mp;hl=alternate Karin
  11. for those intersted: there is a run open over at fisd regards, Karin
  12. Which version? Patientce, little padawan, patience.... K.
  13. it is time for me to start posting. Some of you may already know me from FISD. Anyway, here are my contributions These are latex FREE yet flexible hand guards. They still have some flaws, but they will be corrected with the next one. There are many advantages: * for people who dont like/ are allergic to latex *no need to paint - they are already a glossy white- No flaking of paint! * more durable than latex# *the same flex, thus screen accurate LOOK * you can attach it to non-rubber gloves like nomex. I also made these out of latex: What do you think?
  14. Hello! My name is Karin and I am from Vienna, Austria.
