  1. Heya and welcome. I'm in the armor building stage right now, and let me tell you- these guys are top notch!
  2. Must be the season.... my ex told me she wanted a divorce 3 days after Thanksgiving 2000- for the same reason yours gave you TE. But, like Daetrin, I am now in a better place with a great gal. It all comes around.
  3. I'm doing this mod this weekend. I've been holding off on working on my armor, because a couple squad mates are going to help out, but I'm really wanting to get some progress on it. And I get straight lines by cheating- I can't cut a straight line to save my life, so I clamp a metal straight edge down and just follow that.
  4. I built mine out of stuff in my garage... except the super plunger. Try a build first- as cheap as you can do it, and see how it goes.
  5. Yeah, it it. I've since put a pipe clamp over the reducer, but think I need to bondo that gap.
  6. PNerves

    How old?

A Stormtrooper was one of the few toys I was ever able to get back then, and I still have it. It's how it always starts, huh?
  7. I still have the one I got when I joined the military book club, oh so long ago. I think I've taken it apart, and may even know where it is, but.... I should find it and finish it up.
  8. I own them. I have a few pics of the scooters at my web site, but none of my girl's bike -which is being painted by a friend- or the Honda -which is being worked on by another friend. It's good to know mechanics and painters. I've been riding since I got my first mini bike in about 1978. Never owned a bike until I got a Honda 175 Rambler in 1988, which later died a slow death. http://pnerves.com/scooters.htm
  9. Were they the Swiss ammo pouches? http://www.majorsurplusnsurvival.com/Me ... y_Code=165 I got a few of these, and they are nice. They are my plan for awhile.
  10. Now I can get behind the motorcycles thing He said, thinking of his garage... 1978 Vespa P177 Street Racer 1980 Vespa P150 Bee bike (the girl's) 1959 Vespa 125 Mod Bike 1964 Lambretta Riverside Li125 1982 Honda CB350 Cafe Racer
  11. Sorry to hijack the thread... I say sell it as well- for the same reasons. It's always great to make a little something back on your investment... to spend on more costuming stuff.
  12. I never really believed otherwise, I just noticed the topic of differnet armors was everywhere. I would love to get a smaller, more accurate bucket- and I will someday. I WILL!!!
  13. I'm just building my first suit ever- an FX, and all of a sudden there are tons of threads all over the place about better suits and helmets, banning the FX, blah blah blah... It's a little confusing for a noob. I plan on making my FX as sandy as I can- got the diamond sniper plate, will leave out the ab buttons, green flat lenses and sandtrooper decals- but that's really all I can do at this point. Just hope it won't cause any ostrization.
  14. Brillaint! I'm doing the same thing... as soon as I can buy a house again.
  15. I agree with Alberto. It doesn't look that bad, and you will be weathering, so..
  16. ...to that same old place that you laughed about Well the names have all changed since you hung around But those dreams have remained and they're turned around... Sorry... couldn't resist.
  17. I'm going to have to pass right now. Thanks though
  18. I didn't use a frame. The boxes are 2 CD cases bolted together. The straps are connected to the boxes. The dish was left off until I find something I like
  19. Finished this up this weekend- I like it better than the first try- and it's lighter. Sorry for the dark pics- my camera bites.
  20. Yeah, I have not moderated, but I usually have loads of free time during the day- very boring job. I'd love to give back a little, if I could.
  21. So, I had a day off yesterday and after finishing up the Lewis and working on my pack, and then taking stuff out of the box, and then putting it back in, and then looking at the box, and then watching some telly, and then taking out some stuff out of the box, then putting it back in, and then putting my blaster in the holster, and then taking stuff out of the box again and then putting a Devo tape in the tape player I got started... http://pnerves.com/buildingarmor.htm I will try to keep this up.
  22. Very nice. I'm sold. The Lewis is the coolest BFG there is.
  23. I once shot a bantha in my pajamas. How it got in my pajamas, I'll never know!
