  1. It's also looks to be held in place at the sides with "Trooper-repair-kit" gaffer's tape. That looks like it was trimmed just like Mark Hamil's set - almost straight across.
  2. Weren't they also all over the top of the mouse droid? I've never heard any kind of definitive answer to what they are.
  3. With helmet mounted speakers? How do you isolate the speakers from the helmet?
  4. I've been working on installing my RomFx in my AP helmet this week. Once I've got it sorted out I'll post some pictures but essentially I've done as you describe oo-tee-dee! The flexible mic boom is velcroed to the inside cheek of the helmet and can be positioned right up to my mouth. The boom I used was the behind the head radio shack mic. I removed the radioshack mic (drilled it out) and cut the head band off. Then I mounted a AudioTechnica uni-directional mic on the boom. The rest of the RomFx is mounted at the back of the helmet but some of my mods there with extra switches and such get complicated so I'll wait for the pictures to describe it properly. I did find that the mic provided with the RomFx had feedback problems at all but the lowest levels while the quality AT mic was perfect sounding at full volume. I'm using the small model train type speakers mounted inside my aerators. I also discovered the wiring on the RomFX sound effect leads were soldered backwards which meant the sounds could be set of with metal touching the exposed RCA connectors so those had to be fixed. I was in a parade and my "Move Along, Move along" sample kept playing over and over even though I didn't have it wired up, turned out my gold mic jack was touching the RCA plug with each step.
  5. Brilliant work Bill! I will be waiting the auctions or sign up list!
  6. It's the eternal compromise, cutting off as little as possible but still be able to move. I actually ended up cutting about 3/4 of an inch from the top so the thigh moved up enough for me to bend my leg. I wanted to avoid big cut outs at the back of my knee that take away from the detailed edges. I'm short though at 5'6" so I had to do something Harley don't forget to make the thighs fit, the AP armor has big thighs and you want them to be pretty snug. Just check the screen shots and test fit them a lot and you'll be good.
  7. I know, I wanted that GF set, great price too in the end (and a laser sniper bid too), I was up refreshing waiting for it to sky rocket and it never. Wish I could have spent the money. In other news the FX with RT-Mod helm Sandtrooper I put up for sale here went for a crazy load of cash on eBay, hope the Mom and Dad that bought junior a complete Sandtrooper like it! Maybe we'll see him here soon!
  8. This is a great plan, thanks for offering these Seth! I would be interested in a at least one for sure!
  9. Wow Bill that is fantastic looking! Please do a run!!!!
  10. The AP email stated: You have to wonder what the catch is.
  11. That is a sweet looking pack Mike!!
  12. I want my armor to do that!
  13. Sandtroopers from the Parade, who's who? I'm front right with the Lewis. Florida Phil, looks like your pauldron poking out behind me, sorry about that!
  14. Amazing. That is the coolest present I have ever seen a father give. Can you imagine if we had been given that as kids? Wow. Well done, I can't wait to see more.
  15. I'll be a Sandtrooper (I hope since I'm still finishing the build on my AP armor) and I'll be there Friday night through Monday morning. This is my first DragonCon so I have no idea where anything is yet but I'll keep an eye out for you!
  16. At a recent troop I had little ones, younger than 5, holding my hands and walking around with me. Not very intimidating I guess
  17. There's no worries when it's a hyperfirm!
  18. And I have to say trooping with Old Line earlier this year was amazing since everyone kept their helmets on, I never heard the rule but I noticed and I loved it, longest I'd gone helmet on up to that point, now it's my rule too. Taking off the helmet for the scared kid is something that has to be done sometimes, although I've found there are ways to calm kids even if I keep my bucket on. There's no point if you can't make the kids happy.
  19. I have got to try this! My wife wants to put on the inprogress Fett but is more reluctant to the Sandtrooper... Looks great Mike!
  20. Those packs look excellent Mike. Pack tech has come along way in the last couple years, the entire MEPD will be inspired to upgrade it seems
  21. I'm going - we should at least try to coordinate a picture and some drinks.
  22. Bloody show off!! Nicely done Ross.
