  1. Gordon - that's why I suggested it be in Aurebesh, so having "Police Officer" doesn't cause confusion.

In the end, I was deployed as an MEPD Police Officer in 2005.

There is no debate either - this *is* what the program is called. The fact that the term deployed has been used as a short hand for awhile doesn't change that.

  2. Any 501st Legion sandtrooper can be a member of the Detachment, aka Mos Eisley Police Department. But only select individuals are Police Officers. The shield is for anyone, even those with barely passable Legion costumes.

Mike - sorry that you didn't realize that the program is not called deployed but as I said it never was, not at least in the near 6 years I've been part of this detachment.

  3. I'd like to suggest we use Police Officer in aurabesh. The reason is that "deployed" is not what our program is called. We are MEPD Police Officers, this is the Mos Eisley Police Department. "Deployed" was just a short hand as saying "Police Officer" took a lot of syllables.

Also you are a deployed Police Officer. Why should we use a short hand? And, the patch already says MEPD.

Aurebesh would rock, IMHO as it's also used on the beret flashes.

  4. That MEPD shield patch with teh blue background on the top is really rare. I once had someone offer me $30 for mine. It would be nice though if the regular, current MEPD shield patches would be run again for those new folks who want one for a helmet bag, jacket.

Also, that "To Serve and Protect" shirt is the shiz. I used to wear mine more frequently and it's the single shirt that gets me the most questions. I would love to see that again, esp. with a long sleeve option.

  5. Pandatrooper was gracious (or crazy?) enough to let me visit him last week and he snapped some photos while there.

From Left to Right: ShoulderPauldrons, Trooper1, Rolf

The Trooper1 is just a little longer than the Rolf, and more rigid. The shoulderpauldron is easily larger, and note that the snap collar is actually reversed from what it should be. It's also shinier than the trooper1.

I'll get some on me as soon as I can.

  6. I know who I'm voting for. Can't think of a better man :salute:

Noel - under your leadership MEPD has grown and prospered. You've invested much of yourself in to this detachment, from creating a new site look, helping people out with new graphics for their deployed pages, sheparding in new standards, just to name a few.

It's been a great year for 2010 - I can't wait to see what you dream up for an encore :duim:

  7. TKBoots are the best you can get unless you want to go full replica and buy black jodhpurs and paint them. Best price, best quality, best accuracy.

Trooper1 makes some excellent pauldrons too. shoulderpauldrons are a tad bigger. I'll try to get side by side pix soon.

  8. Any TE derived suit will do: ATA, CAP-W, AP, T/MC, TE2.

While they are pretty much identical in size, the price & material varies. Also, some of the parts are different from each other or have been tweaked.

Honestly, you can't really go wrong with any of them - just pick which best suits your budget, timeframe, etc.
