Gordon - that's why I suggested it be in Aurebesh, so having "Police Officer" doesn't cause confusion.
In the end, I was deployed as an MEPD Police Officer in 2005.
There is no debate either - this *is* what the program is called. The fact that the term deployed has been used as a short hand for awhile doesn't change that.
-
If we are going to drop the moniker "Police Officer" status in favor of "Deployed", it would be great if it at least went for detachment vote. I'm fine with the change actually as long as it's the will of the membership, and not via some fiat.
-
because it's what our little icon on the sidebar says (maybe we should change that stuff) and that the "officer" icon is there for anyone with a certain amount of posts.
FWIW, the old site it used to read "MEPD Police Officer".

Any 501st Legion sandtrooper can be a member of the Detachment, aka Mos Eisley Police Department. But only select individuals are Police Officers. The shield is for anyone, even those with barely passable Legion costumes.
Mike - sorry that you didn't realize that the program is not called deployed but as I said it never was, not at least in the near 6 years I've been part of this detachment.
-
Sorry about that Mike - I try to hit up this forum at least a few times a week, and somehow missed this thread.
Last week was just a bear - between work and elections dramas.

I'd like to suggest we use Police Officer in aurabesh. The reason is that "deployed" is not what our program is called. We are MEPD Police Officers, this is the Mos Eisley Police Department. "Deployed" was just a short hand as saying "Police Officer" took a lot of syllables.
Also you are a deployed Police Officer. Why should we use a short hand? And, the patch already says MEPD.
Aurebesh would rock, IMHO as it's also used on the beret flashes.

Thighs? They seem to be my other long issue.
-
You can also go on FISD and do a search for ATA in the builds forum. There are a lot of ATA builds going on right now.
-
FISD is nearing finalization on their end. It will be epic

That MEPD shield patch with teh blue background on the top is really rare. I once had someone offer me $30 for mine. It would be nice though if the regular, current MEPD shield patches would be run again for those new folks who want one for a helmet bag, jacket.
Also, that "To Serve and Protect" shirt is the shiz. I used to wear mine more frequently and it's the single shirt that gets me the most questions. I would love to see that again, esp. with a long sleeve option.

All hail the chief!

Don't worry about not getting it right the first go out the gate - I mean this isn't like a promotion board or anything. You look really good and taking the advice in stride and doing the changes will get you squared away.
Looking good, brother.
-
True, but 30% of Legion sandtroopers are MEPD Police Officers. To get to that level of success, there would need to be 770 EIs.
-
Wow, I just realized that we now have 150 MEPD Police Officers. I do think that's a new record for total numbers.

Pandatrooper was gracious (or crazy?) enough to let me visit him last week and he snapped some photos while there.
From Left to Right: ShoulderPauldrons, Trooper1, Rolf
The Trooper1 is just a little longer than the Rolf, and more rigid. The shoulderpauldron is easily larger, and note that the snap collar is actually reversed from what it should be. It's also shinier than the trooper1.
I'll get some on me as soon as I can.

I know who I'm voting for. Can't think of a better man
Noel - under your leadership MEPD has grown and prospered. You've invested much of yourself in to this detachment, from creating a new site look, helping people out with new graphics for their deployed pages, sheparding in new standards, just to name a few.
It's been a great year for 2010 - I can't wait to see what you dream up for an encore
-
If you replace the AM chest/back it can look really good. Pandatrooper has his done that way as does tkrestonva, and both look fantastic.
-
That would be a no then LOL

Is it a hybrid?

TKBoots are the best you can get unless you want to go full replica and buy black jodhpurs and paint them. Best price, best quality, best accuracy.
Trooper1 makes some excellent pauldrons too. shoulderpauldrons are a tad bigger. I'll try to get side by side pix soon.

There you go - raising the bar for the rest of us. Good job

Any TE derived suit will do: ATA, CAP-W, AP, T/MC, TE2.
While they are pretty much identical in size, the price & material varies. Also, some of the parts are different from each other or have been tweaked.
Honestly, you can't really go wrong with any of them - just pick which best suits your budget, timeframe, etc.

Exactly! If the unit wants to vote a name change I really am fine with it, but I'd hate to lose our tradition due to clerical error. :-p
