Don't have any pictures at hand right now but i did the same as i did with my armor...
In my case i used Fullers Earth in light brown and a little bit of darker brown plus grey and hairspray...
In case your trooping with it don't handle it too carefully, this will add some natural wear and tear...
Btw. I'm more a collector than a trooping member and i have my armor and backpack on a mannequin forsome years now,
the natural dust from all those years makes it look even better...
It's the only mannquin i don't need to clean from time to time... that's one more reason to love TD's, huh?

Nice build! Looking good!
I especially like how you did these buttons, i'll try that with my shoulder covers on my just finished Tie Pilot...
This bump...

Same here, i love your attention for details! i'll be following with great interest!
Imho the helmet is, beside the armor weathering of course, the most noticeable part of every TD!
Keep up your good work!

Man, i never liked the acrylic paint weathering but you did a stellar job!
I might have to rethink and give it a try on my next build,,,,

Good choice, John! My vote for the right bottle too!
-
And look at the screenused pictures closely...
Place upper hole here...

Niiiice! I really like your attention for small details... keep it coming!
Looks like you just need the bottles... PM sent!

That's great but nothing i can paint my parts with...
It would be easier for other pack builders if there was a paint name or chart number to achieve the same results!
-
I tend to agree with Woody. I just painted a few parts for my pack with battleship grey and it definatly is very dark.
I painted bottles as well as a seed tray and canteen and nothing screemed that's the correct color at me!
It's just a personal feeling nothing provable but it looks too dark to me too!
Do you have a color chart match for this specific color you mixed, Woody?
Could you match it with RAL or Pantone charts?

You're more than welcome, bro!

For the Sonix contact @woodman, he has. the most accurate Sonix replica to date.
If located in Europe RS Propmasters will sell these to you.
There are some cheaper alternatives in the For sale section, just have a look there...
Since real siphons get harder and harder to find the vacformed siphon by RWA @ross8008is a nice substitute.
There is a review thread, have a look here...

You did sew this yourself? Nice work, i'd like to see your try on screenaccurate MP-40 pouches ...

You're welcome, that's what we're here for!

Have a look here, close to 100% accurate exept for age and one of the nicest guys to deal with!

Since we know the real deal was a Gio'Style 600 canteen the faucet cover isn't 'correct' anymore!

One for me too, please!
I feel with you, bro! I know the feeling of loosing something that was so close!

Who ever got this is sooo lucky. I missed it by a couple seconds, I clicked buy it now and then it was gone before I could finish. I have never been so elated and instantly crushed lol
Do i read this right, it was for buy it now for only $200???
That's even more crazy and i could get even more green in envy!
-
What the ****?!?
Again??? And more important, i missed it again!!!
So it wasn't me, i wish i was... step into the spotlight, buyer!
-
Anthony, haven't seen you for ages... where have you been?
Great to have you back!
Starting a TD, mate? Welcome to the sandpit!
-
Me not, i'll stick with mine for now!
...at least untill i will be able to score a correct real vintage UP90 with fins!
The one in this auction as well as mine and the ones shown on the pictures above aren't exactly what was used at least on the "Move-along" backpack! It's the closest match but i assume a updated model from a few years later in history line.

What a blast from the past.... the good old times!
Since photobucket is no more the galleries are gone, sadly!
If i ever find the time i'll try to set up a new one on flickr or so....

I'm thinking of a different pack. Those look like those plastic retainer clips that Tie Pilots have on their helmets.
I was thinking he same and have looked since Gino posted but haven't found anything yet!
Btw. The retaining clips used on the Tie helmets look like this...
Shape and sizewise the complete part looks a lot like a slot a or slap 1 heat sinks used on cpu's orgrafoc cards in vintage computers.
Still i couldn't find the correct part and i'm still not sure if i am on the right path....
Maybe Gino can chime in but normally he won't share so who knows....

Hah, that leaves one strap for me, right?
Looking good, i'm really looking forward for what you come up with, Vincent!
